I’m gonna check out your video’s on the Pinhoti since I’m very curious about the particular trail (after having thru-hiked its big brother in ‘22) As a Dutchman I was totally surprised being greeyed with Goedendag Iedereen 🙂. Where did that come from?
Hallo! Thanks for the watch and thanks for the future views :) I release every Sunday (or I try too) I am 3rd generation immigrant from Holland and I grew up in a very strong Dutch household. We celebrated St. Nick (Sinterklaas) instead of Santa. That kind of thing. I dont know dutch, but phrases and basic greetings existed. My last name is De Haan as well :) One of my dreams is to go back to where my ancestors are from and hike all around the Netherlands. Great job hiking the big bro! Its on my bucket list when my kids graduate. Ze ja later!
Yea, it's breathtaking, and it's not even peak colors yet. Just wish there was more water. Two waterfalls were non-existent, so there's a trade-off. However, I am loving every minute here
Great pack set up! One suggestion would be to dump the pump sack and get the flextailgear pump. Same or less weight and so much easier and it has a lantern for the tent! Also how much do those crocs weigh?
Great suggestion! Let me explain why I use the pump sack instead. I have 3 reasons. 1: The noise really bothers me, I would feel horrible if I came to a camp site late with people already there and had to use it. It's very obnoxious. 2: I need every scrap of my battery bank, and one less electronic to deal with is going to outweigh the positive. 3: I use my pump sack to also store my hiking clothes and my water filter so I can snuggle all of it easily at night, and it keeps the filter from cracking at freezing and when I put my clothes back on in the morning they're not freezing. Now, the flextail 2.0 that's on Kickstart looks amazing, and I might get that, but for now, this is a good system that I like. 👌 My Crocs are about half the weight of my altra olympus. Super light. Hope this helps! (Also, we have a flextail and on our family over nighters it DEFINITELY gets its use in )
