If you are doing a part 2 - it would be cool to understand some of the more intensive non-surgical treatments available - like micro-needling with PRP versus (ultherapy - Flaxel, CO2, clear & brilliant) . I am always confused about how these different treatments stack up against each other.

I hope you can talk more about what a balanced regimen of cosmetic interventions looks like and what things we should take into consideration in making those decisions. It would be really helpful to hear from your experience so we can have more informed conversations with our providers. I would also like to hear about what to avoid depending on the situation.

I think for "anti-aging" there are 2 very important things besides the quality of the skin, that give a vibrant and youthful appearance. Thats hair and posture. My mother turning 70 this year and she has thick, long, black hair (with greys in it). And she has a great posture and walks really fast. Her back is perfectly straight. The way my mother walks and her long hair gives her a youthful aura. I take great care of my skin and hair, and also work on my muscles and posture everyday. It's important to stretch the fascia, because otherwise it sticks together and it becomes harder and harder to move.

In addition to the healthy diet with antioxidants, I would add hydration internally. Dehydration contributes to the dark circles as well as dry skin, lips, etc. Most of us don’t drink enough water. Also, I am so glad you mentioned how proactive Australia is with their campaign for skin protection, but it has a lot to do with preventing skin cancer, more so than anti-aging effects, as I understand it.

I must be the exception... I do not wear foundation or sunscreen but I use pomegrante oil on my face and other parts of my body. I do not burn, but am also only outside in the morning when I go for my walk. I have also used retinoids. The biggest thing is that I really take care of the diet and lifestyle part of being healthy. Sunscreen will not do much if you smoke, drink, don't exercise, and eat processed foods. I am 70, never had cancer and have a good metabolic panel. She didn't mention getting your vitamin D3 levels checke.d once a year. I found myself severely deficient in 2009 from staying inside and never getting any sun due to sunscreen usage, It really wrecked my skin and my health. So adequate vitamin D3 and K2 supplementation is something she should have mentioned.

@@gowrisoman1553 I really don’t think it would work for that sadly! I’ve heard a lot of people with oily skin use it and it’s fine, but I’d say it’s more suited for dry skin. With that said, the main concern i’d have is that it’s not waterproof. Sometimes my eyes water from the wind and when that happens the sunscreen runs in those areas, so I think if you were sweating a little in hot weather it would run and shift a bit. But you should definitely do some research into other Korean sunscreens-I know there’s other ones that are waterproof, better for oily skin, and also considered holy grails. Just not sure what they’re called

I'm a chronic pain patient and I have had fine wrinkles between my eyebrows since half a year after the pain got really bad and also a 24/7 thing and lately my eyes show me where they plan to pop out crowsfeet soon despite me actively unclenching those muscles several times a day. I hate the feeling of botox though (had it as a migraine treatment and the paralysis of my muscles annoyed me) so I'm gonna live with those wrinkles

I have found over the past couple months for myself that less is more beneficial to my skin & my skin has never looked better. Usually it's just cleanser & SPF everyday for me. However, if I am doing makeup for a special occasion I'll add in eye cream, serum, and moisturizer (but that's not everyday). For the most part I feel like the more stuff I pile onto my face "suffocates" or irritates my skin. It's nice when my skin can breathe. In your professional opinion is eye cream necessary? I was googling it and a lot of sites say no.

      Some answers were:
"Look, if things are pretty regular when it comes to your eye area (it's not too dry, puffy, dark or creased) and if you’re already using a good serum and facial moisturiser (that doesn't irritate your eyes), then these will do the trick nicely. Because the thing is - an eye cream essentially only hydrates and protects the skin around the eye, which are all the things your trusty serum and cream are doing to the rest of your face"
"Most eye creams do very little other than moisturise the skin's surface and therefore temporarily plump up fine lines and wrinkles due to their hydration effects," Eye cream is a moisturizer in a tiny tube at a higher price."

I have rosacea and get FOMO when it comes to retinol 😭 I don’t want to miss out on the benefits, but my skin reacts so poorly even to very low strength formulas. Are the benefits enough to counteract the constant inflammation I get from using it? I feel like that is just as aging 🤕

Dr. Ellis I love your show, I would advise you to manage your subscribers' expectations, the retinol/retinal is not a magic bullet, and takes time to truly work for anti-aging, so far after 4 months of daily use I do not see any changes. I do see more changes from daily use of a Vitamin C and jojoba oil. Invasive innervations are expensive - in reality the comprehensive skin care is VERY expensive. I have tried a number of procedures and yes results are great... for a while, but they also require regular maintenance. Botox is a quarterly expenditure which costs hundreds, most likely thousands of dollars a year. US economy is in recession and many of your listeners are not able to afford what you recommend, better be honest and realistic. As to the sleep, yoga, nutrients and other holistic procedures they need to be explored in depth, so people know they do have realistic options. I would also recommend addressing intermittent fasting which improves overall health, and use of natural oils, which are effective and much cheaper. As to the Bombas socks - they cost more than a meal in a French restaurant, please think before recommending, many of us are not in the Silicon Valley.
