If you are doing a part 2 - it would be cool to understand some of the more intensive non-surgical treatments available - like micro-needling with PRP versus (ultherapy - Flaxel, CO2, clear & brilliant) . I am always confused about how these different treatments stack up against each other.

There’s a difference between looking youthful and looking preserved. Often I see people on UA-cam/social media etc who have that preserved look. Here in Vermont I see older women who look youthful without that preserved look. Rosy cheeks, bright eyes, from living a healthy life and having joy in their lives.
Doesn’t mean we don’t want to avoid premature aging. Sunscreen, teeth whitening, maybe some retinoids etc. But it seems to be living a happy life where you don’t overly focus on appearance but living your best life makes people look more attractive and youthful.
Always appreciate Dr Sam’s tips though. 😊

A “preserved” look can also age people. There are people on reality tv etc that look like they are in their 50s but are decades younger.

New to your channel and I love it! I’ll be 50 next month, I take great care of my skin, have used Tazarotene for years, but I just started using sunscreen every single day a few years ago, and man!! It has been a game changer!! Recently, im seeing a lot people on sm talking about “toxic” sunscreen and even some calling themselves “skin care specialists” or “MUA” who are saying sunscreen does more harm than good and sunscreen is toxic. It’s so hard to hear this, and they usually won’t change their minds at all! So it’s so refreshing seeing you talk about the importance of daily sunscreen!!! 😍

My tip: avoid ostentatious designer labels and trends. Instead build your personal wealth and you will be happier and less stressed. Less stres may improve energy which will make it easier to work out. Working out makes it easier to prioritize good nourishment. Your hair may benefit from less stress. And yes sunscreen with hats and sunnies

I think for "anti-aging" there are 2 very important things besides the quality of the skin, that give a vibrant and youthful appearance. Thats hair and posture. My mother turning 70 this year and she has thick, long, black hair (with greys in it). And she has a great posture and walks really fast. Her back is perfectly straight. The way my mother walks and her long hair gives her a youthful aura. I take great care of my skin and hair, and also work on my muscles and posture everyday. It's important to stretch the fascia, because otherwise it sticks together and it becomes harder and harder to move.

In addition to the healthy diet with antioxidants, I would add hydration internally. Dehydration contributes to the dark circles as well as dry skin, lips, etc. Most of us don’t drink enough water. Also, I am so glad you mentioned how proactive Australia is with their campaign for skin protection, but it has a lot to do with preventing skin cancer, more so than anti-aging effects, as I understand it.

I must be the exception... I do not wear foundation or sunscreen but I use pomegrante oil on my face and other parts of my body. I do not burn, but am also only outside in the morning when I go for my walk. I have also used retinoids. The biggest thing is that I really take care of the diet and lifestyle part of being healthy. Sunscreen will not do much if you smoke, drink, don't exercise, and eat processed foods. I am 70, never had cancer and have a good metabolic panel. She didn't mention getting your vitamin D3 levels checke.d once a year. I found myself severely deficient in 2009 from staying inside and never getting any sun due to sunscreen usage, It really wrecked my skin and my health. With that said, the main concern i’d have is that it’s not waterproof. Sometimes my eyes water from the wind and when that happens the sunscreen runs in those areas, so I think if you were sweating a little in hot weather it would run and shift a bit. But you should definitely do some research into other Korean sunscreens-I know there’s other ones that are waterproof, better for oily skin, and also considered holy grails. Thank You for your tips. But please concise your speech getting to the point so that we can listen to you fully. Time is gold.
Also give an idea of reasonably priced products in the market also rather than advertising the products you use only, since an average person can't afford your products.
    Thank You

Can you please make a video on treatment options for Papular acne scars that commonly appear on the nose and chin? This type of acne scarring is extremely underdiscussed in the dermatological community that I would like more info on. Thanks!

Mitochondrial functioning is important. Listen to Dr. David Sinclair Lifespan podcast. Tacrolimus and technically cutting out sugar that shuts down mitochondria function helps retain hair color.

Hello Dr. Sam...I have a question: every morning I use on my face a moisturizer that already has spf. I mostly use the Elf Holy Hidration cream with spf 30. Would that count as my daily spf. I have dry skin so I put a lot on my face and let it absorb before applying anything else.
    Thank you!
