I live in Dundalk and also crossed the bridge around the time of this video. It was absolutely crazy to be woken up by the sound of the bridge coming down from my house about a mile and a half away and not realize that was what happened until the morning when a massive amount of friends and family texted me.

If you view the video of the Dali hitting the bridge you will see an 18 wheeler that makes it over just as the ship hits.

Watching the dashcam video, I can see the driver is heading west away from Dundalk towards Hawkins Point on the right. I know because I did this trip for the last twelve years.

I've seen other videos or cars going over the bridge and it is massive. It;s going to be interesting to see the method they use to clear the elapsed bridge from the Dal's foredeck. I heard in another report that about 185 containers have been removed to clear the way.

If, after this is all over, they want to take a picture of everyone who worked on this ... they're gonna need a bigger camera ...

I have learned they had time to stop traffic. Why did they not tell the works to get off the bridge?

I've seen this question many times, I'll ASSUME time was too tight to physically get to the workers to warn them as there may have been no other way to (radio).
      Should more perish?
A horrible gut wrenching thought to think about.

Perhaps on the other side out in the future when replacement occurs this video will be repeated?
You Tube: Nelson Studs - Gordie Howe International Bridge.
Our York County plants corporate office is Detroit located. For years I traveled I - 83 to BWI for morning flights.
Occasionally to Windsor, Canada across the highly worn Ambassador Bridge patched with steel plates, very uncomfortable!
After 56 years of injection mold engineering using tool steel it is unbelievable seeing the quality of steel, design, construction and man hours for the Key and Howe Bridges. Thanks to all that erected them.
