I worked in the Los Angeles TRCC center, testing digital lines. We had this huge board with flashing lights but we didn't use it for anything, we monitored everything with computer. I was fun to watch visitors come in and they were impressed with it. I'm not sure what the managers told them about it but it was used while I was there.
NOC can be anything from a dream to a complete nightmare depending on working culture. More sensible NOC's where they focus on what is important and you learn to distuingish what is relevant or not are amazing, making it more like a firestation where you only really have stress when something major happens. There are however plenty of NOCs that forces you to create trouble tickets on everything which just get repeative, unhealthy and boring.
Hi can I ask u something please, in year 2003 I used to work in telephone company I rang my brother from office landline number and shows mobile number on his mobile phone could it be error /interference /glitch connection or possibly his old Nokia phone but I actually rang from landlines Is that possible? Please explain Many thanks
I worked in a much smaller center call TRCC that monitors digital lines. It was a lot of fun, some crazy managers and co-workers. One manager always made popcorn for us and passed it around to everyone. One day I came in and all day long everyone picked on me. the next day my co-workers were laughing saying we take turns picking on the new guys.
Working in a NOC is one of the most stressful and fun jobs I've ever had. I love it.
Where do you work now??
How much did you make?
