Chris Stapleton's voice cuts like a knife. This rendition was brave, soft, emotional and overall intimate, all at the same time. A true singer who did not outstand himself over the national anthem, but gave us a "sitting on my porch with my family and friends singing" moment and that is amazing!

Chris Stapleton is so talented and soulful
As a soul singer and one who has sung the anthem on multiple occasions, this man has gained a new fan and much respect for that stellar performance. It will go up in history as one of the all time best performances of the National Anthem!
You don't have to go all out...up and down. It was simple but complex and truly beautiful to listen to. The guitar mixed with it really made me proud to be an american.
Yes the spirit of a guitar will make anyone feel proud to be an American.

His appeal is he crosses just about every genre of American music in this version. Country, blues, Rock , R&B. And it is laying people out!! Its who Chris Stapleton is all about. He touches everyone with that voice.

It’s rare that a human understands how to use their voice the way Chris does. So much nuance in every line, and he used his voice to show his soul to the whole world.

Thank you for bringing attention to the ASL interpreter. I am not deaf nor an interpreter but I loved watching the interpreter and felt he added so much to this already amazing performance. He is an academy award winning actor too which is cool.

I have somehow found myself in pieces over this. I'm not sure if it was Chris's singing or also your ability to know singing so well that you kinda get to know the artist on a much deeper level than most. I find that extremely loving and beautiful. New sub here!

WOW WOW WOW wow just wow! I personally am blown! For so many people over the years have sang the anthem with so much power, their whole body in it, some screaming it! Always makes the song about the battle and the victory. The way he did it though was.... omgosh, like a lullaby! A peaceful ending to a long fight! So glad to see the ending of it to come that a man drops to his knees and thanks God it's over. The notes of the stings a tear falling with each pluck! A battle of memory forever etched in the minds of these men. The thick dark clouds drift away, the colors of the misty sunrise turn to bright beams of light. That was incredible, amazing and at a whole different level making it beautiful. Chris, how brilliant!! 👏👏❤
