This is badass! I love it!
.....and I love the fact that you can create a 3D mesh from the Inkscape generated SVG file, in a program like Blender, to produce a cool colorful 3D logo you can animate.
You are one of my absolute favorite GIMP and image manipulation channels on the UA-cams!
Thank you so much for doing what you do my friend! 😃

Amazing detail, and a lot of work! Thanks for spending the time on this. There are a lot of popular social media ways people do this today, but not with this control. And they certainly won't end up with vector graphics, which are usable in other places. I think that should be emphasized to back you up.

Sometimes you just need to slow down and take your time to get the best results.

This was awesome. Worth the long time. I've learned a lot of things, especially with layers which I am not used to work with. Also 17:54 😂

Can you make darktable tutorials? I think it's really missing on youtube. There are so much lightroom tutorials but no "how to create a cyberpunk/neon/synthwave effect on darktable"

Wow, that's awesome! I have two questions: 1) It seems like a _lot_ of work to do what you did. Is this normal/standard for this kind of work or is this due to your using Inkscape? 2) What's the advantage of hand-creating the vector portrait over using the "Trace Bitmap" function/feature of Inkscape? Thanks in advance! Thanks for posting!

Hey boss. I'm not Davies Media but I can answer your questions.
      1) Using Inkscape is standard for illustrations. It has better tools for dealing with the outlines (called "paths") than GIMP, the other free and open-source graphic arts tool that people use for image manipulation.
      2) The "trace bitmap" gives you an image that looks mechanical since you are at the algorithm's liberty. It resembles a xerox of a photo. For most applications, it looks "unprofessional," Manually producing drawings allows you to do things like mirroring the face halves as he does here. It also gives you greater control, allowing you to simplify shapes instead of trying for photorealism.
Please note that vector illustration is an art form with accepted norms that viewers expect: simplified shapes, flat color washes, etc. Hand-drawing produces the look, algorithms don't. Another reason clients like vector illustrations is that they scale fast due to their small file size. While "trace bitmap" produces images with complex layers that require much more CPU capacity to process. This makes a huge difference in website host where a client is charged by their download. Smaller file size = less to upload to a customer = lower cost for the business owner.

just a little constructive criticism from a teenager who doesnt know anything anyway. Somehow change the "ad" for your web/company, make it unique this just makes it repetitive and 90% will skip it. the "graphical intro" even worse, it just "repeats" what is said in the monolog anyway and it just wastes time. No hate, just trying to be helpful, you and your tutorials are the main reason why i'm pretty good in gimp.
