Poder means power. 3:40 Actually Mexico was richer than the USA during the great depression. My family had to flee Spain so they had two opcions America that was going through a depression while Mexico just had found oil. So they went to Mexico. My parents were born in Mexico and they had to come to the states. So we ended here.
Hey what's up dude ! Just to say the word joder it means in this song like come around to abuse you Is like gimme all the power to come around to abuse you Its what it means
"Joder" actually derives from italian (may also come from latin, as most spanish words) "codere", and its meaning is related to the use "per codere" as in "to fuck around".
Hey Pancho (that's how we call a Francisco/Frank that we love), i'm Mexican, i remember those old days i was a teenager minding my own business and molotov make me put attention to the problems of my country with that song. Also the next year (1998) there was another great "protest song" from Argentina, called "Sr. Cobranza" by Bersuit Vergarabat react to that song as well !
"joder means enjoy right?" i mean.... yes but actually no. it can mean : fuck, annoy, fuck up, kidding, and more, depending on the context. " gimme gimme gimme todo el poder para que demos en la madre, dame todo el power so i can come arround to joder" is a repetition of "gimme/us the power so we can fuck you up" refering to the polititians wanting votes to fuck on the people.

This song was really important politically... It helped to bring an end to "the perfect dictatorship", where one party ruled for 71 years in México (1929-2000) by creating this really successful songs against the government, with very few bands singing political stuff at that time (Listen "Que no te haga bobo Jacobo", against the only news tv show host late night for decades) I remember 100,000 people chanting "Gimme the power" more than 20 years ago in one of the the first big commercial festival in Mexico City just while the hated party PRI lost power finally
