Friend, if this surprised you, what I'm going to tell you will surprise you even more, these two are not even rap, trap or reggaeton singers... they have known each other since they were 6 years old and they always played rock, like a trojan horse they entered to this genre that triumphs in almost the entire world and from there they parody and laugh at it. They are musicians trained in conservatories, Catriel is even a music teacher. They are exposing the current genre in which they are succeeding. Greetings from Buenos Aires
for me the most incredible thing is that only half of that people are in the band thre other musicians and the back singers only meet the day before! the smoothness of this performance is to show how talented everyone is
These guys are professionally trained musicians who play(ed) hardcore and prog. They’ve decided to, so say them, make music that people listen to. They’re both completely serious and also making a farce of the genre. Check out Ca7riel’s band Barro.
The coolest thing about Catriel and Paco is that they are not afraid of ridicule. They embody a showbiz persona that is totally over the top and makes jokes of the industry and themselves. I think that these lyrics are not that simple, they use obscene, colloquial and silly things to shock people and criticize the culture of our time, in addition to relativizing big issues such as what is considered to be "good taste". or not.
Oh I love to see you react to them, actually there's a little bit of parody in what they do, that's why the lyrics sound so funny and weird for a trapper. Glad you enjoyed it and hope to see more reactions from you again!
I used to be shocked by their lyrics, but.... why should we be surprised of hearing stories of thiefs, whores and other people in the popular culture? Even Opera is full of those characters and plots.... what is new is the explicit reference of sex in lyrics... but in a way... that is a sign of our times... the western culture is going more and more explicit... explicit insolence, explicit authoritarism, explicit stupidity, explicit lack of empathy towards another human being.... a sexual reference in lyrics looks "naive" compared with what is around us daily....
as a Brazilian I just loved them. We have funk here that deals with this subject on the lyrics most of the times since it's a reflection of our culture and sexual freedom. I see nothing wrong with that.
They feel comfortable because they are great musicians, with a strong background and training. From families of musicians and a great training in music and styles. Although now they play urban music to reach young audiences. By the way, Paquito has the most conquering smile I have ever seen jajjaa
Gangsta in Argentina does not refer to mafia or gang as you imagine. It refers ironically rather to luxury living. "Now I'm in Miami" We are Argentines, the ass of Latin America hahaha. Paco and Catriel are from poor or middle class neighborhoods. But that doesn't make them gang members. But what they mean is suddenly living a life of luxury because of how well they are doing in music.
Very good reaction, I'm not one to listen to this type of music but Ca7riel and Paco blow my mind. Frank, in Argentina there are very good musicians, Black Crowes has Nico Bereciartua as guitarist. Greetings friend.
Nice react, thanks for the video, to comment back on your words of the toopics of the lyrics, i want to say that this is really different from other singers of Trap that count that seriously of being bad boys, here they have shown a lot to sarcasm and irony of this. both singers are also great music compositors and present songs with a turned way to show this, not celebrating guns or violence, but keeping it spicy and going to a stand of attitude with high quality of performance, not just some electronic generic bases to say they are the "best ones"
Inlove to see you refer to JAMIRIQUAI. I have the same feeling. Also check they remind me to another Argentina duo band Yllia Kuryaki and the Valderramas from the 90s and 00s
The guy in Paco's shirt is actually Roly Serrano, an Argentinian actor. He's played the post-retirement overweight Maradona in the "Sueño bendito" series, which is based on his life.
oh I almost forgot, there is a version of Catriel doing a song by Luis Alberto Spinetta (an icon, a legend here in Argentina), I fully recommend that you see that, now, it's over, have a good weekend!
Hornsektion and brass sektion only got together and reharsed wirh the rest the day (or two?) vefore. And bort paso and Ca7riel had cold and fever during the session !! Crazy stuff.
What can I add that was not mentioned in most comments here? Go listen to Ca7riel's other band "BARRO" to get the whole spectrum of his voice and musicianship.
Frank ,don't miss checking out these great performers, you already know Abel Pintos but you have to know this power trio that he accompanies for this song: Eruca Sativa con Abel Pintos - Amor Ausente (En Vivo)
You have to listen to "astor y las flores de marte" the old progressive band of this guys, Mazitaguz is the first video that youtube suggests you, regards!
Looking at your reaction with the Lyrics was so nice haha! this is one of Catriel's songs in his previous group 7 Rojas, check it and let me know if you find anything similar to the ones they played over here in Tiny Desk ua-cam.com/video/DvTsuJH0W9o/v-deo.html Thank you for taking your time and reacting to this couple of Artirsts. I don’t speak Spanish very well, but I really dig the rhythm of this group. Just read the lyrics for the first time.. damn. Everything else is so tasteful. Poetry has lost its way to the explicit tack of modern lyrics.
😂😂😂😂😂.. "Never asume: you are the only one". Men! It was a 💔.... Finally analizing a latin. band? ...thanks from 🇦🇷 ps: wasn't Maradona, was an actos as Maradona in the film😜

it is not a Parody, they are not trying to make fun of the Reggaeton or Trap, on the contrary it comes from a place of genuine appreciation of it
