I openly cackled like a Salem witch when they zoomed in on that pen sketch. The cameramen understood the assignment as soon as he proclaimed he's basically a lawyer.
I don’t think Judge M understood the defendant, he’s simply saying the owner should take the car for a drive bring it back and they will inspect it to make sure nothing is loose.. I’m assuming once you drive the car anything not tight will loosen up and they can fix it.
They should have that car ready to go when the customer picks it up. She didn't roll with exactly what the defendant was saying but she was basically stating they should do the test drive.
@@GrizzledNoob I don’t agree with the judge decision, and here’s why, if they take the customer vehicle of the lot they’re liable for any damages that occur and they’re now open to lawsuits if the customer claims something new is wrong and it happened in the care of the mechanic. I think the young man couldn’t explain himself but the judge also wouldn’t allow him to speak when she kept cutting him off
The plaintiff really brought in a hand drawing of the rim as Exhibit N. 😂😂 I don't think he expected the judge to look that closely at those car rental receipts.

And then he gets even slipperier when the judge asks him if he's a lawyer. "In some jurisdictions, I am not considered a lawyer." "In what jurisdictions?" And then he goes on to where he nominates himself for the textbook example of a Dunning-Krueger case. "I've watched this program enough times ..."
If he's not a lawyer but pretending to be one, he's already earning to be a sleaze. And, he's not very good at that. A sixth grader could have doctored the documents better than him. I'm not taking any blame from the defendant, but when you start altering the wheel and tire size of a vehicle, you totally throw off it's dynamics. At 35mph you might not notice it much, but at 70mph it Mae's it difficult to handle. This is why dealerships won't install a different wheel and tire size, and people go to aftermarket shops to get it done.
I dont get why the judge doesn't understand what the defendant was saying about the checking after test drive. Not saying its a good defense but she doesn't understand what he is trying to say.
Same thing I was thinking. He was supposed to bring it back for them to check the lug nuts. Maybe it would be a good idea for the company to test drive it themselves
She understands but it's not a defense. If I have new tires put on and they say "Drive around the block and see how it works", if they don't tell me to come back, why would I? The better, and legally smart option would be to have them sign a waiver before they put tires on stating "I acknowledge these rims aren't made to fit my make and model of car. The follow could happen", and then have them sign again before handing over the keys that they are going to test to make sure it's secure. What they're doing makes sense from their perspective but "drive around the block" doesn't test for anything besids covering their own ass.
@@kenny2006sp its probably a small shop that doesn't have the insurance liability to drive customers cars, the rep for the shop seemed pretty young. It may be their first business.
I agree here. I worked at jiffy lube for about 8 years. If I had never worked at jiffy lube I would totally agree with judge millian but as someone who has taken off and replaced tires in the past I totally understand why he wanted him to come back and get his tires double checked. The judge is actually WRONG on this case because I had NEW tires put on last October and on my Warranty card I was told to bring the vehicle back at certain mileage points so they can recheck and torque the lug nuts if needed. It's something new to me and I've been buying new tires for a LONG time. I never took my truck back, I just bought a torx wrench and did it myself.
Tahoe, Yukon, Escalade all the same there isn’t a difference in the lug pattern it’s all just a badge and body kit on the same suv. That statement about the wheels being for a Yukon instead of a Escalade is crazy
Also, I don't understand how JM's hands were tied? If the Plaintiff provided fraudulent evidence, then it's likely he's lying about the circumstances of the accident. I would've taken my self-appointed law degree and dismissed with prejudice.
