- How to remove the seat runners in a Toyota Previa or Estima (2002).
I was put off from doing this a year ago from what I had read (that it was really hard). Rebuilding the camper this weekend I decided I would have a go anyway.
Takes around an hour, not hard at all. Need 14 and 10mm sockets and a few screwdrivers.

Thank you so much buddy for taking the time to record this video. I was so stressed out because the rear seat of my Tarago has got jammed and was wondering how to get it removed. When you could remove the whole thing apart it gave me the confidence there is a way to do this.
I watched this video about 5 years ago and it was so helpful. I have now put a dent in the tailgate of my gold 2001 Estima so am looking for a replacement if anyone in the Waikato, Auckland or BOP has one.

Hi, I have the identical car but nowhere could I find how you took the middle and rear seats off the rails before you did this stage. Can you give me any tips? I have to change the fuel pump and filter and it is right in the middle under the carpet and you can't peel it back enough to get it out without the seat removed. Who knows who would design it so you have to partially dismantle most of the inside of the van?

thanks for this video. I have a 2005 tarago and want to convert it into a minivan. I wonder if I can use the seat rails on the floor to install anchors or hooks of some sort so I can secure the bed down to the floor. I have heard of L-track anchors but the rails in my car look like an older type of rail. Any thoughts about anchors I could try? Thanks!

@@xavthegoat7197 I ended up putting in a plywood floor base and screwing in the bed etc to it.
Does the rail have to be put back? Is it legal to drive the car without seat rail installed back?
Im no legal expert, but the rails only purpose is to hold the seats in, so no i don't believe it needs to be put back in (well in NZ anyway- I'm not sure about other countrys)

Thanks mate. Great video. I tried to take a shortcut and cut off the clip at the back which is welded on. i wanted to leave the middle seats in so didn’t want to take out the whole rail. Anyway that was unsuccessful. There must be something else stopping the mechanism sliding out on the boot end of the rail. Hope this helps anyone doing something similar.
What an absolute f@#k around just to remove them, I think ill just leave mine and build something over it
