Probably one of the most valuable lessons I've learned. I've been playing for a little over 3 years now. Just started playing live 3-4 nights a week. You, my friend, just helped me kick ass on that stage... ❤

This is he first time I've heard someone on UA-cam explain the differences between improvised 'riffs' and improvised 'licks'. Srv and hendrix did it all the time

I'm amazed certain UA-cam channels have hundreds of thousands of views/subs offering complete shit yet arguably the best & most hard worked on channel isn't up there. Great work as always Anthony - .2014 will take off big time for you. #keepthebluesalive

Specialized stuff always gets a smaller audience, but typically more invested. My crowd is big enough and invested enough for me to make a good living, while still being able to answer every email and handle some of the customer support personally.

    Priceless...thx so much for reminder!!
I had to mature into that... just because you can solo at any given time doesn’t mean you should!
“I was soloing too much and not playing enough Rythym”
Luv it!! “it’s all about creating enough space to hit it hard on a solo..”
    Amen

Great lesson! I bought your technique pack and currently working on it, so Im sure I will come back to get another pack of lessons when I feel more comfortable with "the grip" and get the techniques more controlled. kind regards!

I’ve always wondered about your tone - what’s your chain look like? Do the hex oils make a big difference for you? Cheers

That lesson is pure gold! Anthony, I'm interested in your experience as guitar player, have you ever encountered slumps in your playing, and how have you dealt with them?

I sure have. When I start to sound repetitive (to myself) and feel uncreative, I sit down with some Albert King or B.B. King and really try to nail the timing and phrasing. There's something about focusing on a less flamboyant style that I find freeing. Not sure why, but it gets the creative juices flowing.

Thanks Anthony for another great insight and lesson that helps the vocabulary. Gary Parker Jnr very much does the 4 bar theme to great effect. Are you using the Velvet Fuzz for this ?

Hey man, awesome job there! Anyway the string height is not uncomfortable? Looks like really high to me.

It is, and because SRV got very high action too. High action gives you more clear signal while low action is easier to play. You probably know that already but im just saying that its because SRV wanted max clear tone with 0 buzz. I think. Oh and he also liked to play with more strenght.

I'm pretty sure if you apply de-sensitizer on the strings you can also solo longer
