Sound engineer has one job to get an icon like Billy Joel’s’ mic in the house P.A. When he hits the stage-but no … no excuse-pay attention to your talent please 😂🎉
Stevie is an icon, the music is imbedded in our hearts from the sixties to now. This generation has no idea what great musicians and singers we had. Today garbage, no one can sing
"This generation" isn't supposed to have an idea...:)..Just like we didn't to music that was before our time....They have their own music which we don't get either.....one can go back to reviews of "our" music back in the mid 60's that said that it was awful and that nobody could sing. I think it was Rolling Stone who had an article to show this. The quoted reviews they used said various bad things. The important thing is that we are free to like what we like and not to give a sh*t about what others think...:)
Excellent. So good. I am 59 and, unfortunately, never saw Billy Joel in concert. I did, however, listen to his music quite often when I was in high school while doing jigsaw puzzles with my stepfather, Bill Hunt. Bill Hunt is known in the music world as Billy Hunt. He won a Grammy in 1964 for a solo trumpet performance on Days of Wine and Roses while he was traveling and playing with Woody Herman and the Swingin' Herd. You can find that performance on UA-cam, and it is worth your time. : ) Bill was the most humble person I have ever known. I never knew about that award and many other accomplishments of his until about a decade ago. The four years that I had the great fortune of spending with him in Grove, Oklahoma during my high school years quite literally saved my life. He taught me how to feel and appreciate joy, pain, beauty, love, and laughter, and he also taught me how to express myself musically, in writing, and visually. He passed away a few years ago after a good life, well-lived. We often reminisced over the phone about those 4 years we spent together, some of which included puzzles and the albums of Billy Joel or Steve Martin or Maria Callas or Woody Herman or Miles Davis or The Who or The Beatles or Louis Armstrong or Ella Fitzgerald or others. I saw Stevie Nicks once during the "Leather and Lace" years. I never saw Fleetwood Mac, but my husband of 25 years did. He grew up in and around Phoenix, Arizona and says that he once "made out" with Stevie Nicks at a party when he was young. : ) Lawrence is 65, and our 6-year age difference often shows itself via musical experiences. My favorite band is The Who, and Lawrence once saw them when Keith Moon was still alive. He also saw the Talking Heads at ASU. I am so jealous. We have a daughter who is 23 and an "old soul." Lily listens to Billy Joel and Fleetwood Mac from back in the day. I will have to ask her about whether she knows about Stevie Nicks as a solo artist. I will forward this to her. Anyway, that was a pleasure to watch. I liked and subscribed. Thank you. : )

random technical problem that wasn't caught, I assume. I saw somebody who was there mention in this thread "Stop Draggin My Heart Around" was apparently the only song with an audio issue. I wasn't there at the show myself even though this concert was in my hometown.
I adore them both and absolutely loved this. It's hard not to compare it to the original though... the chemistry she had with Tom Petty was exceptional. I think that was the best duet partner she ever had and vice-versa.
You never know what's going to happen in a live sound sitation. Looks like they might have had that mic muted and forgot to unmute it when he came on....maybe it was a surprise.....Stevie is a pro and went to jump in and sing his lines when Billy's volume finally came up on his mic. I just don't know why he was wearing what looked like a Lone Ranger mask...? LOL
Nice to see she is still performing even if Fleetwood Mac is no more. I don't expect to see this much more but it nice to see her out there still performing on rare occasion. She still sounds nice at age 75.
I was not at the show but I believe from what I can see in this thread somebody mentioned it was an audio issue during that particular song. So no matter who recorded video you'll get the same issue because there was a problem with Joel's audio apparently.
Someone must have just pushed Billy Joel on the stage. Takes off his shades, but forgets he is wearing a cap that makes him unrecognizable. The band drowns out their voices. Glad I am watching on UA-cam and didn't pay for tickets.
To the contrary, the hat makes him very recognizable. He's often seen wearing a baseball cap. As for the mask ("Who was that masked man?"), it's prolonging the surprise of a mystery guest singer. Too bad there were audio issues on this song.
I was there and this was the only sound glitch - the show itself was over 4 hours long. They both were incredible. Well worth my $700 AND I'd pay to see it again.
Their going be here in Kansas city Missouri August 19th at the K.C.CHIEFS Stadium, the hottest part of summer, that's going be hard on them, of course I'm sure they'll have cool air fans blowing on them
