- Geddy Answers the Question If Rush Will Continue in Some Form and The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Show in LA at the Forum, Geddy Lee, The Metropolitan Opera House, Philadelphia, PA, November 15th, 2023; My Effin Life World Book Tour
I would absolutely LOVE for Geddy and Alex to make more music together. But what I want for them more than anything else is to enjoy their lives and get as much out of it as they can. Rush gave us their all for 40+ years, and whatever time Ged and Alex have left should be spent doing whatever makes them happy.
Same. After Neil passed, all I hoped for was that they would remain as close as they've always been. More music? Sure, that would be nice, but more importantly, be happy and healthy.
I totally agree with you! But I think Geddy misses being on stage, he seems to truly love it.
But...they both really enjoy making music together.
A main reason they haven't yet is their grief over Neil. Just like when Neil's daughter and wife died, Geddy and Alex were too depressed to even touch their instruments, let alone create new music. I think Alex said that music is a celebration of life, and at that time they didn't feel like celebrating or there wasn't much to celebrate.
I think they have been in that state for years due to Neil's illness and death. Now they are finally ready to celebrate/embrace life again, which, for them, includes making music together which they really enjoy (and Alex did do a side project not long ago).
As for live shows, however, I would think that even if they toured, it wouldn't be as large/long of a tour, or they could even just play a few major cities.
Whatever they want to do, or not do, is cool with me. I was fine with them quitting, if that's what they wanted, back in the mid 90's. They had already produced so much great music it was already more than enough! (Though I'm glad to have their post 90's output, especially the majestic Clockwork Angels, and to have seen so many shows in the 2000's, and I'm glad younger Rush fans--I got into them at 14 in '91--were able to see them live too).
If you were lucky enough to experience Rush throughout the decades, you know how close this band was, and the impact of their body of work is unmatched 🤘
The bit about time stand still and geddy having the photo at the end just got me I'm crying
A true gentleman in every sense of the word.
Two absolute legends geddy lee and pierre robert
We love you too Geddy!
Thank you for sharing. Means a lot to see Geddy speak.
Thanks for posting this!
My first ever concert was Rush at the Spectrum 1983.
I was there!
1st show Oct 1st 1980
1st concert: Rush at the Arena in St. Louis, April 4th, 1994.
No Neil, no Rush. They gave us FORTY YEARS+! Let them move on.
Geddy and Alex have made it crystal clear that any project in the future will not be called Rush.
So humble RUSH was one of the best and I think Ged answered the ? I think we will see him and Alex again
Wish Geddy was touring the book release to Kansas City.
I cannot wait to see him this Sunday in Cleveland.
RUSH- 👏👍🤘🎸🎶🥁🎶🎹🎶🔊😊😊😊
I don't think Rush can continue as a band that puts out new music and albums, Neil was such a great part of it. But of course Geddy and Alex can continue Rush as a touring band with guest drummers and pay respect to their legacy. And they can also make something totally new and awesome with other partners, besides Rush. And I hope they do!
More music would be great even if there is no touring
how many gallons of hair dye were used in this production?
Static News is the Police are huge, yhe real rock stars, hey rocks star I just threw two more worlds to the ground, among many galaxies, Universes, police that stage
Freeze the moment - and don’t forget your tuques
I wish they would stop asking that, they were a Hard Rock three piece, one of them is sadly gone, the other two are in their mid 60's early 70's. We have almost 30 albums from them and forty years of touring hard.... if you missed them that is too bad. They gave you plenty of opportunities. I doubt Alex and Geddy will ever put anything they collaborated on out to the public, especially under the name RUSH. Let them enjoy their retirement, ask about the future, not bringing back the past which can never be done and only reminds them their brother is gone..
and who would write the Lyrics for any project, the last song Geddy penned the words for was on Permanent waves (Different Strings) and Alex was back to 2112 (Lessons).
Yeah, I get that and nothing against Dave Chad and Danny. It wasn’t rush.
Y not? Sir Trout is better than ever.."that is not a no"... My favourite headache book 2 featuring Hollywood's Alex blah blah Lifesonbaby eat a sandawich. 7:01
I love Ged and Rush but these tour clips just seem to me like repeats of every podcast and interview I have seen. I’m waiting for the book to arrive and hope there is more interesting stuff in it. And the clapping endlessly is just annoying
Time Stand Still and I think I'm going bald are basically the same point, change my mind
