The so-called Quad group agreed to cooperate on the pandemic, climate change and security.
Although China wasn't mentioned in the final communique, it became clear that Beijing's growing influence in the Asia Pacific was driving the discussions.

If China decides that coercion is their first "power play" then of course other entities of similar values are going to band together, that's only natural. Together, they can contain - which is better for you, where you are, in case you forgot that Singapore fell to the Japanese in WWII, if it weren't for a couple of countries that make up the present day QUAD, you certainly wouldn't be speaking English.

It's not an association against China but to ensure freedom of navigation in the Indo-Pacific, the region's status quo is unilaterally being altered by China. Besides Indo-Pacific, the association can also focus on numerous issues related to health & vaccination, education, climate change, economic development, technology, engineering and many others.

In all honesty, what can they do? If they put economic sanctions on Myanmar, the people will be hit hardest, and China will gain leverage. If they send military, leftists will cry US interference, it'll become protracted war like Syria or Afghanistant, and US will divert focus and strength which is better spent on China. The only difference is that China kept the NEP while the USSR immediately removed it. For example, during the Russian Revolution, the Russians fought almost every single country from the west such as the French, British, Americans, Poles, Germans, etc. The similarities between the Soviet Union and China are so exact that it’s basically a mirror.

"Counter China's influence" sounds too diplomatic. They can go to any length to try to break China apart. However, that will only bring China closer to Russia, North Korea, Pakistan and Iran.
I hoops you realize that none of China’s allies are reliable or trustworthy. Russia doesn’t even like China they just hate the USA and therefore work together with China (if the USA were not in the picture they would tear each other apart). The Soviet Union didn’t even like China lmao. Similarly Iran and Pakistan just like the flow of Chinese money and if that stops they will turn on China. To counter china now is not possible, as thier economy and armed forces are on a different level. Atleast without US influence.
China may be growing now but have a severe demographic problem, which is often overlooked and never discussed. Your 1 child policy will cause huge economic burden in the coming decades. Your birth rate is estimated to be 1.16 by independent sources and 1.6 by the Chinese government, which is still well below sustainable growth, by the end of the century the population will be half of what it is today. There wont be enough people to sustain economic growth. When your current workforce becomes aged, you will have a huge amount of retired economic burdens. Not sustainable... this is what happens with many newly industrialized countries, you have sharp growth, then it plateaus and declines. With your demographic problem only amplifying this to make is worse. The 'China Century' is a myth, like an overvalued stock.
Update you knowledge about China's one child policy because it was canceled three years ago.

You don't need to hold summits to mitigate the growing influence of China; just innovate and collaborate. Elect a government with a strategic vision and get ready for a shared future of human kind. Chinese Communists have done their duty towards their country... let the other governments do the same!
The Quad is a very new Alliance, as a whole, although the Alliance and association's of 3 out of the 4 go back many decades. It will take time to work through parameters of this new Alliance before it will resemble anything like NATO. India's long term involvement in the the Quad is very vital.
I disagree with one of your speaker, about ideology and types of government being a "Neanderthal" involvement. It shows a lack of understanding of twentieth century history at least. For example, both World War 2 and the following Cold War were primarily about ideology. There were economic factors at play as well, but the focus was primarily about systems of government (e.g. democracy versus totalitarianism), rule of law (whether genocide should be opposed as a crime against humanity) and opposition to this (i.e. the dictatorships).
I dont know if this can be classified as an "alliance"- it's is definitely a dialogue but India has always with history avoided formal alliances with any side- because it prefers to maintain it's autonomy- The Quad would have term this better to accomodate to India's historical condition. Being like-minded is the key. If the quad can actually produce tangible benefits between the four, and prove to be a good platform through which to solve modern global problems - China may start accepting political liberalization as a way to join the party.
Exactly and the fact that US, Japan and India are together in it gives them a big economic and technological leverage. US is unmatched in terms of its technological prowess while India has a huge English speaking population. Already India is a second home of all American tech firms. Given the cheap workforce in India it won't be difficult to move away dual use(Military and Civilian) manufacturing from China to India. Also India has a huge advantage that China doesn't have. India is the birthplace of Buddhism that is followed by so many Asean countries giving it a valuable soft power on them.
