- This is my Diablo 2 Let's play of the Amazon through Normal Difficulty. Nightmare difficulty and Hell difficulty are coming up next! There are a lot of new faces around here and people interested in getting back into the game and I wanted to create an experience for all of you to follow along!

I like this cuz the hardest part for me is the runewords and knowing what’s good early etc. this saves me from watching your speed runs and setting to .5 speed to follow along
Yes please, more of this. I'm one of the people who's sort of "Diablo 2 adjacent," so videos like this help a lot in understanding the mechanics of the game and why you use certain skills/attributes/items for whichever build or character you're using.

Please keep doing this videos on a per-class basis. This was incredibly helpful for getting up to speed on tips, tricks, and just basic mechanics (like avoiding defense stacking early on). I've played the game off and on since it came out, and am getting back into it after a 10 year hiatus. This is great stuff to help get me back into it as efficiently as possible.
It looks like a lot of people are getting back into it. I quit playing for years because of issues with compatibility with Windows 10. Now I'm back into it and determined to master all three levels.
Not sure if he mentions this, only about 4 hours in, but there's a very helpful cube recipe for an early merc weapon: a Kris (the squiggly dagger, Fara sells them in A2), a Belt (the plain "Belt" that MrLlama wears), a white/normal staff (Drognan sells them in A2), and any Diamond (best to use Chipped obviously) - those 4 things when cubed will create a polearm with a big %extra damage affix. Also, Scythes and War Scythes are the fastest (in terms of attack speed) at low levels - there's one other kind that's also labeled as "Fast AS" but it's 10 frames slower than the Scythes. So if you find a socketed Scythe, a Tal rune from the Countess is a good fit for it (75 poison dmg/5sec, handy when combined with quick attacks). Either of those will do nicely until you can rustle up an Amn and give your merc a Strength weapon.
This video is not only a let's play. it is a how-to and where to play as well. Very helpful for players who want to start playing Amazon. All builds will be explained as he goes in great detail.
Recommendation for anyone who want return to/try D2, want to play ladder and is tired of bots and having your inventory be 90% charms: Path Of Diablo. Such a great mod. Made me fall in love with this game all over again.

Ive been playing D2 since 2003 (I was 11) and I still do not know SO many things about the game. Watching a pro play from scrath on normal is perfect for picking up tricks and tips. I will definitely watch this whole thing.

MrLlama, me and my 13yr old just started playing D2 together and are loving it, but we're pretty lost on these early stage builds! He picked amazon and this guide is such amazing help for us. Thank you for such great content. hopefully paladin is coming soon! Haven't played D2 in 15+ years and really enjoying getting back into it.
I've played this game for over a decade at an exceedingly unskilled level, like I only beat normal for the first time after several years. Watching your speedruns taught me a lot like the importance of resistances. Before watching you it was just this weird blind spot in gaming for me despite loving the game I never intuitively figured a lot of stuff out. This will be immensely helpful for me and I hope you continue this as a series

Act 5 is my favorite act. Maybe it's nostalgia. It did blow my mind as a kid. But the thematics of it I think fit the overall game really well.
You're the only d2 channel that I watch. Quality content and you really do know what you're talking about. I'm still learning stuff about a game I used to play 24/7 for years

Thanks llama, As anniticpating the upcoming release of D2R, I've been torn on 1st character build class & I've really wanted to build Amazon as it's my favorite class but I've always struggled in the beginning as I always went Sorc to mf with, but I know the zon just straight kills it once it's a high level, even more so with end game gear, going straight for cows on release, moo moo moo with Fury Java, I've played this on/off for 20years and you're hands down the most informative youtuber out there, learning new play thru strategy from you is a gift, thank you so much!

I started playing D2 a year ago for the first time in my life. I played only with Javazon then had to stop because of my work. So I know couple of things about Amazon but have no idea about other classes. Can’t wait to see you other “Let’s Play” videos with other classes! Great content!
Good shit Llama, most of the time when I'm watching your runs I'm just paying attention to your decisions for key equipment choices, runeword choices, when you're levelling what skill etc. Typically I can figure out why you've made your choices but really spelling out why you make your decisions is super insightful. One of the cheat codes in Starcraft is "There is no cow level" It allows you to instantly win any mission.

Amazing content. Please do nightmare and hell diff. I didnt grow up with diablo 2 sadly but I get the urge to play it time to time because it has a unique feeling to it that I can't seem to find in any other game. And this video made me create a new amazon and play the game all over again.
Hope D2 gets a remastered.
I loved this. First time ever trying to speed run (aka not kill every monster and not pick up everything). I've been playing this game for a long time and the first time I try to speed run it takes me 10 countess clears to get a tal rune! Ouch! Also the first time I've ever played an Amazon and it's way better than I thought, thanks Mr. llama!

Do nightmare, do hell, do other builds, I'd love to see how to do a zeal pally or hammerdin from low level to hell including how to magic find on single player, maybe should use pluggy, maybe that mod that adds the ladder only rune words on single player, idk, this looks awesome.

Regardless of the game.. this could work for any rpg/arpg style game and i think this is one of the best and coolest ideas for content that someone could do. and after binge watching some more of your videos and finding out that battle.net servers have been down now, i have downloaded path of diablo and been playing it for the past few hours and man, i am obsessed. watching your speed running videos while playing has helped a ton and Ive gotten through act 4 and now almost through act 5 in just a few hours. keep up the great work!

loving the lets plays. i would also watch the other characters. i especially like how you do the different difficulties and how its important to respec because of the different challenges needing different strategies.
Watched diablo 4 cinematic randomly and got hooked on the lore aspect of the game never played or really new what diablo was at the time and a week later played through diablo 1 and got windforce on my rouge hype! Just started playing diablo 2 and literally have watch all your videos but man the gearing part of the game has got me confused so watching this to take me through early game to mid game to late game gearing will be great. Huh maybe that could be a vid idea noobie gearing guide idk. I hope to understand this game and do some speedruns in the future! thanks for the help and lovely personality!

Not related to this video at all, but I took your advice from a sorc video and farmed Tal Rasha's amu from normal cows and it was literally the first set tali that dropped! Probably extraordinarily lucky but I just wanted to thank you for making my self found life a lot easier and more fun.
