I'm pushing 50, and one of my biggest regrets of my life is getting rid of, and losing all my Baseball, Basketball, and Football Card's i collected growing up.Collecting Cards was my biggest hobby growing up, and i started in the early 80's and had Thousands abd Thousands of Card's with all my Rookie Cards, and Valuable cards, in thick individual plastic, and everything else in sleevesin Binders. I had so many old Rookie cards, like Jerry Rice, Jordan, Shaq, Kobe, Ken Griffey JR, Barry Bonds, McGwire, Canseco, Sosa, Montana, Roger Craig, Barr Sanders, Hank Aaron, Pete Rose, Bobby Bonilla, i had tripple and quadruple of the same cards, some of the rarest Error Cards, all the Becket's saved up. I had a whole closet filled with Boxes and Boxes of All my Sports cards and collectible's, and everytime i moved, when i was in my 20's and 30's, I'd lose little by little, until i finally ended up losing everything.. I just wished i was more organized and Careful when i was younger, or had just left all of my valuables with my Parents, until i was older and more settled down. But it's too late now, what a shame...
wow what a story.. ill tell you this.. i found my old collection as a kid in my parents garage, i looked thru it enjoyed it for an hour. then i sold it on ebay.. when i sold it ($200) that i got.. i randomly started looking at sandy koufax baseball cards, so then i bought one.. then another.. and then another.. which brought back the enjoyment but in a different way from the first time i collected as a kid. instead of the regret of wishing, buy your self 1 card and enjoy it as if it was pride, then buy another! and slowly get back into the hobby just 1 card at a time!
Oh man, you're bringing me back to the summer of 74. A great year to collect cards since Topps released all it's cards at one time. That Catfish card is probably my favorite of his...great action shot. Great video Mikey! #letmepick

Interesting vid, Geez. Another set that I haven't really looked through. Was moving some boxes around last week and found this set and another boxed 1975 set I didn't know I had. I love my sets that are already in binder pages, but will keep the boxed ones in boxes, as they have been for 50 years.
isnt it funny how that works, you probably have alot of cards.. i have alot of cards, i opened up a box and bam, i found some cards i totally forgot i bought! weird.. so theyre like new to me all over again lol.

lol its actually not embarrasing., i bought a low grade 77 topps set, couldnt be any worse than the ones i have.. in which im slowly replacing as i find odd ball short stacks!
#letmepick - Late '70s cards are highly underrated, IMO. Especially the stars in nice condition. Would love to open one of those racks, even if the odds of the big hit are low. 1975 is my favorite, but '76 thru '78 are catching up quickly. '79, not so much yet. :)
you know honestly i think the late 70s cards are underrated because theyre kinda ugly lol.. compared to the 75,72,71 even the 1970. late 70s topps cards i didnt start collecting them until almost 8 years in the hobby, atleast the 72 topps was the latest then it was the 75 for me and it stood like that until i was just like, well im seeing 10,000 card lot of 77-79 topps for $150 bucks (very very long time ago), okay lets set build these and it was then they grew up me.
#letmepick anyone of those packs I would say. Probably the 78’ since I don’t really have many 78’s in my collection. 79’ would also be cool since I got my first pack of cards in 79’ and got a Reggie Jackson. I would like to get another Reggie for my binder cover for the 79’ set. Looking forward to the livestream! 🍻

thats awesome man, how far along the ways are you with newer than 74 topps? you dont need someones money, plenty of sources where you dont use your own money to collect cards or hobbies! Surveys, Collecting cans, scrap metal, cash back apps! i do those things all the time.

I went to my very first card show this past weekend I was so excited that I couldn't even sleep the night before. Like a kid going to Disney for the first time. Then I got oh man 🤌 I was bummed out. No $1 boxes, hardly any vintage unless it was in a case or slabbed, modern and pokemon. That's cool in all but dang! I'm going to drop a video tomorrow. I didn't get any footage of the actual show just my pick ups. There were quite a lot of people there and I got nervous. Don't get me wrong I had a fun time. Seen a 52 Micky in person. That was cool. However I made a parking lot deal for $45 beans for 36 cards and only went $10 over my budget. I'm happy with that. Take care. 👊
you did quite well with your pick ups, i saw the video.. just keep going to those shows, travel alittle for a diff show to see diff vendors. eventually you will find some nice vintage at the prices you are willing to pay, and remember.. NEVER PAY STICKER PRICE!!!!!!!!! if all fails, ebay has better deals, the experience just isnt the same lol..
@@geezmikey thanks man for checking it out. I appreciate it. The Miami Fort Lauderdale area sucks for shows. It is not a sporting town. Mostly a party scene town. Just like going to watch the Marlins play the seats are always empty. We only have that one show. All the good shows are 3 to 6 hours away. It is what it is though. I do pretty good with eBay. #letmepick 1978 i comment on every video and watch everything you publish on UA-cam Toodles , where can i get a scratch off paper that you mark when you build a set i need one to make copies of , i have singles from all years of you ever want to trade
appreciate the support my dude, the scratch off paper... i kinda made it myself. i went to hobby lobby and got a small blank page book "diary" format lol.. and printed out numbers up to 1000 which i found on google. printed out, got a glue stick and put them on all pages of the book. very simple but time consuming. small book cost about 4.99 + glue which is 1.99 so over about $10 to make

@@geezmikey I have all but one of the hall of famers from the '79 set and maybe 100 commons. I have about 200 cards from the '74 set.
