@@DrJamesGill with the ever increasing evidence that doctors are losing their licenses for speaking out against COVID-19 I thought you would say that. My cousin works in social care and cares for the elderly who are disabled. She wears a mask for 12 hours a day 6 days a week. They have to put on new masks every evening they enter the facility and last week she was diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia. The doctor said to her it is a growing condition with people who wear masks on a long term basis. When the doctor was asked why this is not being told to the public the answer was “I would lose my practice, sad but that the way the world is gone”. I think it is a sad day when doctors whose job it is to do their best for their patients are being censored in their speech because of the fear of losing their jobs. When the government fear the people we have liberty, when the people fear the government we have tyranny.
No one really knows for certain, yet. Doctors have been wearing them for a long time and there isn’t any substantial or reliable evidence to suggest masks cause problems. However, just because there isn’t any evidence to suggest masks cause health problems it doesn’t mean that they don’t! We haven’t been in the pandemic long enough yet … Masks would have to be tested on a lot of people for a very long period of time under different sets of circumstances. I think the risk is bound to be low as we’d see widespread illness by now but it’s conceivable that someone could be at a risk of breathing in bacteria from masks into their lungs just like they could from anything else. Consider that people are at a higher risk of developing lung infection if they have poor oral hygiene and it makes sense that anything else hoarding bacteria near the mouth could do the same thing. However, this is speculation and not tested and the risk of getting sick from wearing masks is likely to be much lower than the risk of catching and spreading the virus. I’ve always been in full support of masks and tests but I’m feeling the limit is approaching. I have a colleague who’s getting nosebleeds from having Covid tests 3 times per week (later found out that PCR tests could contain latex and she has a severe latex allergy. Not everyone reacts in the same way to tests or masks, but if there is a limited number of people reacting badly then that number is too small to be able to draw a reliable conclusion.
I believe he’s checking for abnormal colour (eg. blue fingertips) and slow capillary refill (ie. when you squeeze the fingertip, it takes longer than usual to turn pink again) - both can be signs of peripheral vascular disease.
In a medical situation, that is unlikely, possible, but unlikely, as that examination is normally done when there is a concern If there was an issue, you’d be professional, and stop the examination.
I'm just fascinated by the way the hair on his knees looks a lot lighter than the rest of his legs. Like, I know there's less hair, but it looks different. I think it's cool.
