I noticed the noise mostly from the transmission and wheel arch area although done soundproof the whole buck head. But definitely great improvement after installing them. I wonder how you can reach and stick the sound proofing material underneath it? Do you have the video? Thanks and you’ve done a nice work!

Hi Darren, unfortunately not showing details, if you go to around 14:56 on the video you should see what I did around the transfer case from underneath that helped a lot by adding sound deadening material to that section, basically sticking it around the transfer case tunnel, it made a big difference. STP makes a few products that you can also stick under the carpet that will reduce the noise. the pumas did come with some decent carpets and padding in that section which helped, but depending on what model you have it could also help to get some high-density foam and put it around the carpets on the inside.

@@MdPcustoms Cool. I saw from the video. It’s very hard to reach there. Will get mine done one day too! Thanks!

To be honest, it is easy to get at least 70% of the area stuck, it's the top peace that's difficult to get to, specifically the section by the gear levers.

i used a waterproof rubber coating on the engine bay side of the galvanised bulk head. done the same under the battery box seat box and under the rear tub. makes a big improvement already.thinking of doing the same on the inside of all the doors

Thanks For the video, busy sorting this out with Mine. I noticed that you did a hydraulic cylinder opener. What length Ram did you use and what KPA rating? would you recommend a stronger or weaker one now that you have yours installed? Thanks.

Did you put sound deadening sheets on the bonnet before you applied the foam sheeting?

Hi, yes I did, was done prior to the YT channel. It doesn't take many sheets to do the bonnet as you only add in between the supports on the bare plate sections. Made a noticeable difference with the foot wels in the front and back.

Could you tell what products did you use and where can you get it from. Thanks Gary

Hey Gary, I live in South Africa in the east rand. Everything I used was from Pro Auto Rubber in Boksburg. They are by far the cheapest as they manufacture everything themselves. For a 110 I would recommend getting a full box of sound deadening sheets, 750mm x 500mm depending on how far you go with the project it should be sufficient. Ask for box pricing if you buy more than 10 sheets as it brings the cost down substantially. For the roof, I would also recommend adding 5x their soundproofing material 1m x 1m. Also, get a roller from a crafts shop or PnP this helps a lot, a few brushes and a big tin of contact adhesive. They also sell a lot of other products that are worth looking at.

Don't think that was a good idea to sound deaden on the outside of the seat box as I think that will be a water trap.. most installations put it on the inside of the vehicle.

Hi, thanks for the comment, you do raise a valid point. I am very aware of the issue so I have discussed it with a few guys I know that like to go this route. The sound deadening sheets do not retain water as it's a tar-like material. While applying it I made sure I only apply on flat surfaces that won't allow for air pockets where water can get trapped. I've also made sure any drain plugs stay open and free of obstructions. Another thing to consider is that any sound deadening applied over rusty areas could accelerate the problem as it won't allow the section to dry properly. Depending on how your vehicle gets used I would almost like to say the same issue could occur on the inside if not careful when applying.
