As human beings, we ALL have red flags in some way, shape, or form; no matter how perfect we might think ourselves to be, no human being is perfect. There’s not a human alive without a red flag. So we HAVE to make a choice to accept someone with their flaws, just as we expect them to accept us with our flaws. That’s just the nature of relationships, even friendships. If you choose to wait until you find someone with no red flags, then you end up being like me, a bitter single person who has been 100% single throughout the entirety of his 20s, who is now in his 30s and has no clue how to even date anymore. And it’s a lonely life. You have to take a chance on someone, pick the red flags and flaws that you’re willing to live with, and hope it all works out in the end lol and we have to be conscious of the fact that that other person also has to deal with our own flaws and red flags, and we hope that they will accept us as we are. It took me entirely too long realize this. Just my personal opinion on why the man in this story probably didn’t abandon ship when red flags were spotted. I mean, every single successful relationship, couple, marriage etc is composed of two flawed people with red flags. But they make it work!!

My father was beyond abusive to me and my mother. They got me 2 weeks a month. He still abused me but at the time I was too scared to tell my mom. BUT the one thing they both got right was they never trashed the other one. Great seeing momo more active on youtube though!

You can only control yourself and some of us can barely do that. Personal responsibility is lost today. Each spouse needs to find their role.

    “People don’t change.”
Well, put it this way- most people change slowly...
And since I believe in reincarnation, I’ll also say some changes could take lifetimes. But other changes could happen much quicker. Depends on how much a person WANTS to change.

This is **almost** the exact same scenario he gave in his "there's no reason to hit a woman" bit. He put out a hypothetical scenario about a guy comes home from work to find his wife banging the next door neighbor (or was it the mailman? I forget) and he has to move out of his own house that he was paying mortgage for, sleeping on a futon.
The woman in this letter gave the husband plenty of reasons to be hit, not saying he should though. There's no reason for escalation.

Love your opinion about alcohol to "unwind"... I totally agree. I too do not need a drink to unwind because life is too tough. Go for a hike! Hang out in nature, go boxing in the gym....

He should've seen the red flag?? He was in his early 20's, someone that young hasn’t been alive long enough to know how to spot red flags for long term relationships. IMO, the majority of women under 40 today have no idea what a marriage commitment is, guys are guilty too, but the ratio isn't close.

Call a lawyer, and find out the lawyer they would pay to represent them in a similar situation. Therapy and feelings can happen after you stop the bleeding and get time and distance . Clean out your bank account and do what you gotta do for your kids.

TBH this all comes down to a breakdown of communication between them. He is insisting and expecting his wife to behave a certain way, and it's obviously not something that she's willing to do anymore. It's tricky because we only get one side of this, we never have an opportunity to hear her take. Maybe she told him that she was unhappy being a housewife. Maybe she told him that she needed something more. Maybe she was feeling unfulfilled in multiple aspects of her life. It's not easy for some people to just "stick to their lane" and do what they're supposed to do all the time. We're not robots, we're human beings. It would be weird to operate on autopilot 24/7 and I don't know too many people that could live a lifestyle like that and be happy.
Obviously we don't know the details of their relationship, but after TWELVE years of marriage, we can imagine that this had likely been a steady digression of communication and an inability to listen to one another and empathize. She didn't magically wake up one morning and be like "you know what? I think i'm gonna torch my marriage of 12 years today. Huzzah! Time to hop on Tinder real quick and find myself a stalion." Nah, she'd likely been communicating to him for quite some time that she was unhappy, whether or not he was listening is another matter entirely. If she's been telling him that she needs a change of pace is not happy with the status quo, and he dismisses her by telling her that she has a job to do without acknowledging her feelings or desires, than that can easily lead to a breakdown of the relationship.
Not saying that she should have cheated, if she was a mature adult she should've just filed for divorce if she was unhappy, but I think it's fair to say that there's a bit more to this story.
Solid reaction, I'm really enjoying your takes. You've got an amazing sense of humor and a solid head on your shoulders. Keep these vids coming!

"I´m not victim blaming, but he should have looked for red flags!" That is victim blaming. If it took her 12 years until she started to cheat ( as far as he can tell), I can´t put that on him. That is just selfish, entitled and horribly crappy behaviour on her part, nothing more nothing less

Sometimes the Red Flags are not as obvious on the surface early in the relationship before marriage.
When my Ex Wife finally showed her Colors I was done. Even now she can't believe I did not put her 6' under over her shenanigans. No it was not you it was my kid's why I did not. Plus it was not worth going to Prison not over you.

I hate you a lot with tenderness haha. It happens to some women after giving birth, that their hormonal balance will change a lot & stay unbalanced unless they seek help. They will be very different compare to before birth & will not accept easily to see a therapist because the problem is within the problem, meaning their personality, their judgement has changed & therefor they are sure the haven't changed, now, try to convince them to seek help....good luck. That is how some redflags that wasn't there before can appear later. :)

@@BigDaddyMoMo1 Feminist has nothing to do with right or left, religious or none-religious. Feminism is about hating men, it has been since the begining especially the 2nd wave (starting in the late 70s). Because of feminism this woman will get the house and the kids, even though she's emotionally and psychologically abusive. All that's missing is physically abusive.
