Can Small Elm Logs Make Useful Lumber?

- We recently had an elm tree come falling down... but it took a while! But still, it was one less tree for me to fell, but one more trunk to saw up! To clean this up, I'm cutting all the curved, irregular parts up for firewood, and then we're going to see if we can make any straighter sections into lumber!
Check out why I chose this mill here!

Can’t wait to see an update when you use some of that to make some furniture
I think waiting for it to dry will be the hardest part!
Just recently got my HM126 Woodlander and started milling. I share your excitement, it's like being a kid again and opening presents on Christmas morning every time I cut into a log! Makes your mind race to imagine what can be built with the lumber.
That is a great way to describe the feeling! You're going to love it!
Keep us posted on this project. I just bought a mill and have been eyeballing the surplus of elm on my land as milled lumber instead of just firewood.
Absolutely! I've got a small planer on the way and will have plenty of time to come up with some good projects for it while I wait for it to dry!
Some nice easy watching scenes. Love it!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
