Vevor offers one made specifically for resin now and it's ready right out of the box. Price = about $100
Great idea, filling the interior with sand. I wasn't to sure about using the plastic trash bag but it did work fairly well. It finished project is outstanding.👍👍 Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
Thanks for watching.
I am in the UK and decided to forgo the harbour freight pressure pot and go for the custom made for resin casting pot. I tested it 1st and found that I needed to secure the safety release valve with locktite as the tape didn’t hold. My pot came with an inner sleeve with handles that has kept the pot clean from any spillage. Still I cut out a circle of silicone to put into the bottom of the inner sleeve just in case. Great idea using sand a plastic bag, will certainly use that in future. Thanks for the vid. 😃👍🏻
Harbor Freight pot suffers from tiny clamp syndrome.
I got a Vevor and I ❤ it.
This turned out really well. Did you go directly from removing the "mold/bag" to mounting it on the lathe, or did you let it cure the 5 - 7 days after demolding it?
Just a day but it sat in the pressure pot for a couple days. I got busy and did not get back to for 2 days i think. Clear slow only needs hours to be good enough to turn and technically clear can be demolded and ready in as little as an hour. I still like to give a day to be sure. These are urethane not epoxy resin. Thats the reason they need a pressure pot there is not enough time for bubbles to release without one.
This looks exactly the same as the smooth-on pressure chamber. Correct?
There are several brands that use this design. I have not used that one but looks like a similar design.
Ooooh I like that sir, is it for sale??
Thanks for watching. Its for sale locally for now. If it does not sell at an upcoming art show it will be available in a few months on my website. I only ship within the United States.
@@BlackLabelwoodworks Dang I never get pinged when I get a reply to a comment... Ok cool, I'll keep an eye out for it but guess it will be grabbed up quickly locally - very nice piece of work 🤓
I love how your video title assumes i have the money and a good reason to replace my 2 month old 5 gallon pressure pot.
Nope. "Why you should" is insultingly presumptuous and bourgeoise.
It's my hobby and not my income source. I'm not replacing anything. **** **
