This was quite a build to watch!! Thanks for the video. I did notice your bench being loaded in the back of a pick-up truck. Did you happen to sell this bench & if you did, did you deliver it as well?? See ya & Merry Christmas!! 🎄🎁 🎅🎄
I love how you somehow doubt your abilities as a woodworker, yet you're out here building some of the most beautiful and complicated builds on any channel on this platform. You're out here killing it!! Keep up the awesome work. Love it!
I showed this incredible workbench to my wife and she said it would make an amazing dining table! Oh, the humanity! The love and respect for the 500 year old tree, that is so apparent in this phenomenonal build transcendences traditional workmanship. You are a wood working god.
You are an oasis in a desert of woodworking on UA-cam. I have been Jonesing waiting for you to post something new. You are one of a very few creative woodworkers on the channel worth watching. You are definitely museum worthy. Keep it up and you will be one of very few worth remembering.
Agreed 100%. UA-cam is full of hipsters that have been fooled into believing they're "woodworkers" by an algorithm. This channel is actual woodworking. No pocket holes, no corners cut, no hiding errors with trim, etc. It is great to have another quality channel to look forward to learning from, because there aren't many left! ps- I prefer the solid top as well.
Woke up early, and clicked on UA-cam. Found this. Frigging Brilliant. Made my day and I’m still in bed. Really nice job man. Inspirational to say the least. Is there anything more fun than working with your hands and making beautiful things. Thanks for being!
5.5 minutes in, and I am already blown away once again not just by your creativity (which is in itself mindblowing) but the level of skill you bring. Top that off with pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone, and it is no wonder I eagerly await new content from you.
I love how the things you make aren't simple straight lines etc. They're not simple, you put real thought into what you design & put huge effort into doing it well. Def one of the best workworking channels on YT imo!
I am a primarily hand tool woodworker - no power tools. I like basic, minimalist design with clean, straight lines and properly hand-cut joinery with no metal fasteners. I hate router roundover edges, unnecessary curves and racing stripes made out of contrasting woods. I think wagon vises are inferior to traditional tail vises and will never understand people who run a router with a chamfer bit in their workbenches' dog holes. HOWEVER... This design just blew my mind. I've watched the video three times since you posted it a few days ago and I can only say I am in awe of your skills, both in design and craftsmanship. The way the arched legs get thinner at the top of the arch is just such an elegant detail - which is hard to admit for someone who hates curves! Truly elegant design and perfect execution. I'm not about to go out and buy a pantorouter just yet, but I really want to thank you for showing this old fart some new perspective. I would be proud to work on this bench - even if it looked wildly out of place in my shop. Have you considered adding some dog holes on the front legs to help support longer boards, panels, doors, etc. to work on their edges? I have a sliding deadman on my (tradtional) Roubo workbench that gets a ton of use, but I think some well positioned dog holes along the right side of the arch would probably get you most of the functionality of a deadman - and the asymmetrically placed holes on just the right side of the arch would look sick in this design. Anyways, thanks again for the video. Truly inspiring stuff. P.S. - You made the right decision in going with the solid top. Split tops are just silly.
I absolutely love this. Thank you for giving it a chance. Can’t tell you how much I appreciate that and thank you for the kind words. Definitely think some dog holes or perhaps a hook that works in the dog strip to support long boards is in order. I decided that should be done as needed as it’s not something I have needed to do a ton and I didn’t want to drill the wrong hole. This comment really made me smile. Thanks again for taking the time. Take care
Always shocked there's not a million subscribers to this channel, I don't even do woodwork and it's in my top 5. Thanks for the great content and videos
Absolutely beautiful. I prefer the solid top as well. The opening in the split-top is just a catch-all for all the dust, chips, and that one tool you can't seem to locate.
Not much can be said apart from what has been already. It is, of course, a unique perspective on a woodworking necessity and masterfully executed. It's my hope for you that your creation be added to the annals of woodworking history. Perhaps your bench design can come to be known with as much regard as Roubo's. Well done, sir.
As a US veteran suffering from PTSD and trauma from life’s ups n downs, I found woodworking as a way to cope and balance out life’s pressures. I find it quite relaxing, rewarding, satisfying, and sometimes complicated lol I love the masterpiece you’ve built. I would love to have the toys in your shop too. I love learning the various techniques and technologies used in woodworking. Great job my friend, a fan from MT

You are my new fuqing hero. I've got some envy overhere. I just watched a video where you say youve been doing this for three years and well..... Ive been working with wood for ten times that literally 30 years I dont have half your skill and no where near your talent. Bad ass my man.
