    I’m going 80-90 no problem sitting up right on the 300swap . If you want to take her out for a ride let me know before I put it in storage. I’ve been spotted a lot on 41 a lot with the grom. It’s a blast to ride with the swap!

    From what I've learned 181 kit is the best bet for reliability going bigger isn't always better you take reliability away I believe you found this out

      A lot of mechanic here in Asia (Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia. Im not sure about other countries) build 220cc and make it still reliable without even using oil cooler. Search for Wave125 (same engine as Grom) and you can find a lot of it in here (UA-cam). A lot of them building 66/5 and even more.

      @bukayo797 nice info..I always figured a slightly bigger engine is the way to go..more power and speed woth reliability ❤

    Wow, good job you were already reaching for the clutch just before it popped, nice save! Could've got hairy especially with the oil dumping under the rear wheel.

    Hunter, it probably got hot. I know you’ve seen the Mini5 fuel table resolution. It’s not very big. It jumps from like 11k to 13.2k rpms. So hanging in that 11-12k range is a weird part of the fuel table. But This same exact thing just happened to my buddies GF210. We have like a 5.8mile stretch and he held it open the whole time and snapped the small end of the rod. I have a 223 as well. She’s still alive but it cracked my starter dowel part of my crankcase 😭. Gonna weld it up and brace it.

  • @nobodynoone2500
    @nobodynoone2500 3 роки тому +7

    Those little engines are money magnets. I hop mine up but usually just heads and stuff. Once you bor the case, they don't seem to last as well. Same was true with most of the old VW kits. "Cheap" fun that gets expensive. Reminds me why I always come back to 90s hondas. Glad ya didn't lose it dumping the oil on the back tire, I took a long slide that way once. Wear more gear next time you go fkin around at hwy speeds, we love you and your skin. ;-)

  • @warrenafflick6498

    Good effort man , great to see you having fun. Do not bore the little end of the rod. A new crank is probably not much more than replacing the rod. You might want to look at a DLC pin. (CRF100 131mph 2 run average).

    gearing it up (bigger sprocket) would make it go slower on the top end, so maybe you should run 14/34 or 15/32

    Hi.
    Granty here from the UK. Really enjoying the interesting video's and the in depth information that goes with them. I'm a Honda fan and currently have a 2021 CB125R.
    Honda question. Is that a UK DC2 at the back of the garage, the one with the twin headlights. I recently also saw that you had a DC5/RSX/Acura ?, in silver.
    I had a UK DC2 and currently have a 2004 DC5 which I imported from Japan in 2010 . Both amazing vehicles and true drivers cars.
    Thanks in anticipation and regards. Granty..

    I’m not trying to talk trash I’ve enjoyed watching your videos building your grom..I’ve never owned a motorcycle before the grom I’m not a motorcycle guy but I am however highly into 4x4 off-roading and grew up at the track with my brothers racing Chevelle‘s and Camaros..building sbc motors from the ground up..I get it bro but that was kinda a let down..running it like that’s on a motor built like that longer then a 1/2 mile at a time is high school first car type stuff..if your pinned you tap out..and if you are pinned and your not at your goal then you haven’t hit your mark yet..unless you can hit that mark in a 1/2 mile are you really just don’t care to tear it down and rebuild it..can’t blame that build for that one bit..I know you no this but incase it helps to hear it..That was Operator error 100per..when you went out there and hit that second run pinned tell it climbed up in the 90s and you got into the top end of fourth and it was struggling compared to the last run and only got into the 80s and took as long as it did Doesn’t matter even if it was wind you should have limped home after the 3rd run..I no you know..just sucks to see it go like that..can’t wait to see how the next one does..but please remember how you shift gears when the rpm get high but when your in top gear you don’t have another gear to bring the rpm back down so when it pins give it a little room to breathe!!!😉🙈
