    Amanda Acker is a transformational coach, speaker, podcast host, and formerly incarcerated person. Amanda was riddled with shame, confusion, insecurity, inadequacy, and feeling unloved and unworthy when her mother walked away from her family home when Amanda was 15. At 22 years old, Acker found herself in prison as a convicted felon and also pregnant.
    A series of poor choices led her on a path of drug abuse, homelessness, and again, eventually incarceration when she reluctantly participated in a home robbery. In spite of her past, Acker has been able to break through and let the good things into her life.
    Amanda is now on a mission to motivate people who have had a difficult past and help them realize they are stronger than they think, and that they and can have the life they want and deserve. Amanda Acker is an inspiring example of resilience and determination. Hear her incredible story and learn why your past does not define you, and that you're stronger than you think you are. Give your valuable opinion in the comment section, and if you think more people should watch this documentary, share it on social media and with your friends and family. That may be true in USA but not in the World. I agree it's in the past, we make mistakes.

    I work for a company that has contracting work in prisons. Feel safer around most of the inmates than I do having a smoke outside my local boozer. Everyone makes mistakes.

    As a fellow convicted felon who has spent nearly two years behind bars, and is a recovering addict, I understand why your past can make you feel like you aren’t worthy of anyone’s love or respect. I rarely mention my past to people I just meet because I don’t know how they are going to feel about me. I wait until I get to know them better, then if they are not judgemental or not understanding, I don’t say anything. I also now realize that they aren’t good people to be around anyway.

    Depends on the exact nature of the crime committed.
    Pending receipt of that information, I'll suspend judgement on the question presented.

    I never understood why society judges addicts but not those who led them to this path. rapists and abusers get a second,third,fourth chance..but their victims rarely get a shoulder to cry on.

    she should do time if her son was abused by the boyfriend/babysitter, she should have been sterilized at the very least.

    • @ArtAbsurdist
      @ArtAbsurdist 10 місяців тому

      What an ignorant comment. The son she had was the abusers child first of all. So how about the abusive man going to jail? She left him. Is that not good enough? Last place she needed to be was jail. And putting her in jail for her son being abused would only put her son directly in the hands of the abusive man. Don’t be a moron.
