What made Revan so powerful was that even WITHOUT the force, he was a mighty and skilled individual. Millitary genuis and strategic mastery that would rival thrawn with lightsaber skills that would test even windu. Then on top of this the man was a literal force prodigy, he was truly the chosen one of his era and would lead from the front with a charisma that few others before or since have had. He inspired a broken and beaten republic and turned it into a force that pushed back the might of mandalore itself. even the mandalorians - the mightiest warriors in the galaxy, not only admit it was him and him alone that stopped them, but opted to flat out worship the guy for what he did. They threw everything at him and he came out on top, they remembered that, and they were honoured to have been defeated by one so powerful. Then when he left the known galaxy, he discovered the true sith and realised that the republic could never win. That the mandalorian wars were simply a test to see how strong the republic actually was. He knew from experiance that in the fires of war, theJedi would give in to the dark side and eventually join the new sith Empire, he knew that when that happened, the republic would collapse. The Jedi would be the key to the war effort. But what if HE could corrupt the Jedi first? What if they pledged alleigence to HIM? A fallen Jedi cannot fall again, and so thats exactly what he did, he allowed himself to use the dark side as a tool, to become his own Sith lord, to corrupt the Jedi and force them to serve him, waging war on the republic but keeping it's vital infrastructure intact as he did so. That way, when the true sith returned, they would not be facing down a weak, stagnent, decrepid republic, but a fully armed and mobilized sith Empire ready to face them down. He gave himself to the dark side to protect the galaxy and save the republic, and when he was captured and his mind was erased, he burned down HIS OWN EMPIRE and took the fight to the true sith alone, stalling them for 300 years while the republic recovered. Anakin may have been the chosen one we know of, but it was Revan who was the first true child of the force. 'You walk neither path revan, you will forever stand alone.' Thereeis no doubt in my mind Revan would have seen Order 66 coming, he would have put the peices together and seen the betrayal coming a mile away. He was neither light nor dark, jedi nor sith. He was the physical embodiment of the power of the force itself to the point he willed himself back to life in an act that split his light and dark sides. In my personal opinion, he was the greatest mortal force user that has ever lived surpassed only by vitiate - and he was immortal. Not only that but to add more to his badassery, he managed to wife the most talented jedi of the time and his love for her literally redeemed her back to the light after she fell. And to further cement his legacy, his child, while ironically not being force sensetive, became a charasmatic politician in his own right while Darth Bane used Revans teachings to create the rule of two, and even Sideous respected Revans power. Revan, he may not have brought balance to the force, but he WAS the balance of the force. He was the power and untamed might of the force itself, it's will, its energy, it's untamed power. He was it's heart and if anakin was the child of the force then Revan was it's soul. He was the balance, he was it's pure unmatched power, and he was the still beating heart of creation itself. Sideous would have been humbled before Darth Revan and Yoda would have been in awe of the Prodigal Knight. The force didn't choose him. The force WAS him.

The Comics and Novels of the expanded universe have ALWAYS depicted higher levels of power then the Games which themselves have been higher then the Movies. That's how it has been long before Disney bought SW. If anything Disney's big budget spectacles have actually showed off much force power then previous movies thus helping to close the gap, albeit slightly. Are Disney movies poor quality? That's another question BUT is Disney responsible for the power gap between movies and expanded lore? Blatantly NO. Case and point this very character, Revan, who existed long before Disney and whose best feats are mostly from his books and comics and that no movie or show pre-Disney has anything like. So yea Lets at least blame Disney for the things they are ACTUALLY responsible for because that still gives more then enough problems without blaming them for things that started long before they had any control.

Fun fact! The temple which Revan fought Vitiate in was a dark side force nexus that greatly strengthened Vitiate and weakened Revan, thousands of years later when the temple was much weaker it was powerful enough to slow down Luke's reflexes, and Revan had a chance to beat Vitiate in in those conditions, even though Vitiate absorbed the force power of an entire planet.

I am not kidding when I say that Revan should’ve been the main Character of the Eternal Empire Storyline as the Outlander!!!! It would have been the perfect way to end the Old Republic Storyline and give Revan a proper Ending by having him kill Valkorion and take over the Eternal Empire. Like instead of Revan dying in Yavin 4 when his Light and Dark Side merge together he actually regains his FULL Power and grows more powerful than ever and is fully Restored to life and truly reborn. He then allows himself to be taken into Custody by the Sith/Jedi Forces and is kept in Custody till the Eternal Empire strikes. He then is sent with Darth Marr after the Emperor and later becomes the Leader of the Eternal Alliance.
Revan using Force Rend that literally explodes one's internal organs is just insane. The only way to do him justice, would be an R rated movie and all fans would love to see one, someday.😊

just because you go from jedi to sith and back doesnt mean you have balance in the force. revan went from one extreme to the other. he didnt walk the line between them.

There should be an event on Korriban where spirits of historical Sith Lords compete against one other to decide who is the strongest Dark Lord of all time. Would be cool to see Dark Lords like Exar Kun, Palpatine and Vitiate battle each other. I know Revan turned to the light side, but it would be cool if he fought against other dark lords.
Imagine to have your only contender in the force, be that of Darth Vitiate, no one else being able to stop you singlehandedly than him. It speaks volumes that such a powerful being is needed to deal with Revan, but that says a lot for Vitiate as well, being only one that can deal with Revan

I guess using the force to bend people's will is what I'm thinking of but I thought he had a power that cause people around him were drawn to him no matter what their alliances are or something like that. That's why jedis followed him into war and why he got his allies in the video game
Well from what I remember, Revan doesn't have the most raw power. However They have one of the best tactical minds in the galaxy's history. As such they made the most use out of what power they had, combined with whatever military forces they were commanding. Revan is exceedingly patient and intelligent. They use what they have to the absolute maximum degree. Say if against Darth Sidious, Revan would lead their armies to victory. But if it came to a surprise one on one duel, Sidious holds the advantage.
Thing is, Revan was not just a force prodigy. Take the force away and he was still a cunning warrior, master stratagist and unmatched tactician. He had swordsmanship that rivaled Windu. I don;t think Anakin could match that. Anakin was powerful, yes, but Revan had talent and skill. When you factor in the force as well, i don;t think anakin would be able to keep up.

If it were not for TOR, his story would have been given more justice. I remember the original game release saying something about "choosing your path" and "becoming the chosen one of the Old Republic" So if we take TOR out of the picture entirely, we get a Revan who truly was another Chosen one. And before the Vader stans show up, i know Lucas never was for it.

This is all the more reason why we have to go BACK to the OLD REPUBLIC and FINALLY explore that era. The Skywalker era is over, it's time to move on. We need to go ALL the way back to the really crazy times of the Old Republic. The shear scale of lore/content that is still being ignored at the moment is absolutely criminal. Next to Ledgends Luke Skywalker, this character has been my favorite character ever since I was 8 years old.
Imagine to have your only contender in the force, be that of Darth Vitiate, no one else being able to stop you singlehandedly than him.
It speaks volumes that such a powerful being is needed to deal with Revan, but that says a lot for Vitiate as well, being only one that can deal with Revan

Is Darth Revan technically a Grey Jedi since he used skills from both sides? Is he truly corrupted by the dark side?
he didnt actually use both sides skills. he never used force lightning as a jedi, and never healed anyone as a sith.

So yes he has the ability to use lightside abilities as a sith
And darkside abilities as a Jedi

@@ATalesTruth- i read all of revan. before he had fanboys. and played all the games. he never used darkside abilities as a jedi. they dont go together. same with lightside and sith. dont care what guidebooks say. those arent written by the people that create the characters. they are written by people that want to be known.
Dont forget that darth bane learned alot of dark side techniques from ancient texts written by revan hence why bane considers revan one of his masters

This man just became my favorite Jedi and Sith of all time.
He's like WBW Anakin Skywalker. He can switch between the light and the dark sides of the force at will using his memories and emotions. Except he achieved it while being alive.

without knowing anything about the character beyond this video other than tiny bits and pieces. This video made me think it would be super awesome if he had a starship that didnt use thrusters of any kind, but instead, was pushed around space simply by use of the force.

I guess using the force to bend people's will is what I'm thinking of but I thought he had a power that cause people around him were drawn to him no matter what their alliances are or something like that. That's why jedis followed him into war and why he got his allies in the video game
Revan most powerful ability was a Force power called Force sever which allows him to permanently remove you from the force
Well from what I remember, Revan doesn't have the most raw power. However They have one of the best tactical minds in the galaxy's history. As such they made the most use out of what power they had, combined with whatever military forces they were commanding. Revan is exceedingly patient and intelligent. They use what they have to the absolute maximum degree. Say if against Darth Sidious, Revan would lead their armies to victory. But if it came to a surprise one on one duel, Sidious holds the advantage.

So who’s stronger? Someone who knew both sides of the force perfectly in Revan or someone literally born from the force in Anakin
Thing is, Revan was not just a force prodigy. Take the force away and he was still a cunning warrior, master stratagist and unmatched tactician. He had swordsmanship that rivaled Windu. I don;t think Anakin could match that.
Anakin was powerful, yes, but Revan had talent and skill. When you factor in the force as well, i don;t think anakin would be able to keep up.
@@Whoami691 I get it, Vader suit canonically made him slower & sluggish so his light saber combat definitely isn’t what it’s supposed to be. But when you have him out here throwing whole Planets (moons) at people with just the force & slaughtering armies by himself I still think it sounds like a good fight

If it were not for TOR, his story would have been given more justice.
I remember the original game release saying something about "choosing your path" and "becoming the chosen one of the Old Republic"
So if we take TOR out of the picture entirely, we get a Revan who truly was another Chosen one.

This is all the more reason why we have to go BACK to the OLD REPUBLIC and FINALLY explore that era. The Skywalker era is over, it's time to move on. We need to go ALL the way back to the really crazy times of the Old Republic. The shear scale of lore/content that is still being ignored at the moment is absolutely criminal. You could literally do another 9 movies on the Old Republic and still barely scratch the surface. Let's make it happen. 💪
