I'm 83yrs old and this is the first time I have watched a video and I truly thankyou for your patient showing this stitch now for me to make it I hope.
Dear Glenda you don't sound like a broken record your words was like good music you made it fun and easy 👍 I never worked the box stitch but thanks to you I made a beautiful afghan I will be checking you out again thank you so much
Excellent! I’m blind, and have been looking for this particular stitch tutorial on UA-cam for about two days. You are the first one who takes care to explain the stitches in such a way that I, as a nearly totally blind person, can replicate your stitches. Thank you so much! Accessibility bar to the craft world is pretty high sometimes, but you give me hope. I’ve been crocheting for over 50 years, but I still like to come back and learn new techniques and refresh my memory on certain things. I’m going to be taking this box stitch, and using it as a border on the blanket. I’m calling my silly eyes because I use it a random set of colors because I’m completely colorblind that anybody looking at it with God the heck were you thinking. But I think that this tutorial will give me the confidence to make a really cohesive border for this blanket. Add a solid color. Thank you again, ma’am you are excellent.
Finally found a master of crocheting that you can understand. This is a complicated stitch, that you make look so easy. You have a very pleasant voice your pronunciation great so that you have no problem understanding what you're saying.
Thank you so much for the great instructions. Please don't apologise for going slow it's exactly what I needed to follow the pattern. You totally understand how to teach, and it was exactly the right speed to follow. You are a great teacher. Thank you. I am making a throw for the cold winter months to come in the UK. 😂
Hello Glenda, this item is simply gorgeous. I love ❤️ and enjoy the time you take to teach me all these beautiful projects. May GOD continue to bless you.
Best crochet video instructor on UA-cam. She is very calm, considerate of others that may not know these stitches, love her calm voice doesn't make me nervous. Best ever on UA-cam, thank you so very much for your tutorials!!!!
I admire your patience in teaching it at slow pace.I am glad that I found your channel. I learned this pattern from you and it came out pretty well..Thanks for your videos.Love from India
I just want to thank you for opening up my world of crochet. I am fairly new to it and have only been practicing basic stitches and have begun making granny squares. I stumbled across this video, thought it looked beautiful and decided to give it a try. I am hooked! Pun intended. The way you do your tutorials makes it so even a novice can produce something this gorgeous. I have already watched a few more and can’t wait to try them (the tree skirt is next). I know that it must be very time consuming and tedious to go through the entire project step by step but it is certainly appreciated.
Ty so much for this CA. I've been looking for a special stitch fora girlfriend's surprise Afghan. This is it!😃😃😃 Everyone please allow all advertisements to play in their entirety. It's how she gets paid for these fabulous videos. Happy crocheting
You are amazing with your such clear instructions. You explain so well as you go at a speed that we can crochet along with you. I'm 79 , pretty much a beginner and am so happy I recently found your channel. I've watched your video a lot, some several times. I'm ready to try crocheting along with you. Bless you for all the time you take in teaching us how rewarding crocheting can be.
You are the best teacher! I would have never thought to turn the work over to make sure I was in the right stitch or to use a marker. I one else explains this stuff! Thank you!
Thank you so much for such clear and simple instructions. And also for showing each stitch, not skipping ahead assuming we "got it" right away. I am confident that even though Ive never done this stitch, I could do it perfectly the first time following your instructions. You are a breath of fresh air in crochet instructions. It reminds me of sitting next to my own grandmother many years ago when I learned to crochet. I look forward to trying this and a lot of your other projects as well. Thanks again!
The time you take, your clear explanation makes taking on a project like this a joy! I’m a new crocheter and sometimes hesitate to take on an Afghan in a stitch like this. Not so with your instruction. I have gorgeous teal, chunky yarn that I’ve been saving for something special. I think I’m going to use it for this. Just one color, but I think it will be exceptional when done! Once again, thank you for your time and patience. ❤️
You are an excellent teacher! I have tried 3 other shell stitch patterns and yours is the ONLY one that I understand. Bless you and thank you for the beautiful stitch!! ☺❤
This is SO good! Thank you so much for teaching it this way; it's like learning from my grandmother, great aunties, and other women in my life. The speed and explanation are just perfect for me, and I cannot wait to continue growing my skills with your tutorials!
I Love ALL YOUR PATTERN CREATIVE GRANDMA ! THANK YOU for all of your tutorials ! They are easy to follow because you go the right speed for me with explanations . I really learned a lot from you . THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Forgot! One other comment. I couldn't get used to your use of the singular for terms, like chain for more than one chain, double crochet for more than one double crochet, etc. Probably just me. A HS teacher for 47 years. A stickler for correctness, even though I taught Art. However, you must have a good reason. Thanks again. You really are a superb teacher. Joanne
I think I know where you are getting confused. The term double crochet is in reference to the actual stitch made and not how many stitches are made. I hope that helps :)
I'm thinking about making a blanket with this stitch, I really appreciate you taking your time to really thoroughly explain each of the stitches! For someone who cannot read the "crochet language" these videos really help.
You are an amazing teacher and I wanted to thank you for going slow for those like me who haven't been crocheting very long, but want to venture out and learn new stitches.
I enjoyed every moment. I stopped the video to continue what you were doing, restarted the video, and followed you to the end. Perfect tutorial. Just perfect.
This is beautiful. I'm so glad you talk us through this. If I was to read the written pattern I would have probably been so confused. But watching you do this is so much easier. Thank you and god bless. I think this would also look great in a scarf 😁 I'm in scarf mode for some reason lol. Ohio is still cold lol
Such a lovely stitch and color choices, it will be my next project for sure, thank you so much once more for your easy to follow tutorial. I really look forward to receiving the email up-dates for new stitches, you are such a good teacher.
Thanks, Glenda! Your tutorials are so clear and so we do not even need captions. I am using this pattern to make a rainbow scarf for my grand daughter, with corkscrew tassels at the ends. Thank you for all the lovely and creative stitch of the week tutorials, which are invaluable to people like me.
I’m legally blind and struggled with this stitch. Your video, along with a blown up diagram, enabled me to make a beautiful scrappy throw with this stitch. Thank you so much! My only wish is that there were captions indicating which row you were on, as I frequently had to go back to see how to start/end a specific row until I memorized the pattern. Again, thank you. It’s like have a very patient friend sottting beside me, teaching me this stitch.
You are such a wonderful teacher , I'm going to try this you make every instruction so easy, well done, btw I've just finished a third feather and fan blanket from another of your stitch of the week, they are all presents, I don't charge but I do feel a bit of a fraud as everyone thinks I must be very skilled , but it's all down to you thanks.
Glenda, I can't find your box stitch written instructions. When I click your website of patterns, I don't seem to find written instructions . I would enjoy following written instructions. I am a visual instruction reader. Your tutorial is excellent because, I am a hands on learner, also. Love your close, clear instructions. Your voice is relaxing.
Thank you thank you thank you Creative Gramma. I have been trying to make a baby afghan using this stitch from another site. They have the written instructions under the video but they don't explain it. Now I am able to see and hear your instruction. Again thank you.
Thank you so much ive been following this video for a while now to make a blanket but I just needed abit of advice on how to make a border for the blanket as the edges are a bit rough
OMG love all your Videos im so happy i found you, your my best friend on youtube, i will make this as a baby blanket. thank you so much, for your beautiful work.
Am I Lucky!, I have seen pictures of this pattern but no tutorial. I JUST LOVE IT!, very colorful and the stitch is awesome. Thanks once again. you are a great teacher.
This is perfect for my grown grandson who wants a red and black Afghan, it has texture but not girly. Love your teaching it is so easy to follow I have learned so much.THANK YOU so much.
Wow this is gorgeous, but I would never remember all of the repeats. Lol thank you so much for the tutorial, Glenda! I watched every bit of it and will be following it for the next week or so. Have a very blessed weekend. 😊✌️💕
I wish I had seen this one before I struggled with a different one with no talking, no pattern, just a video. I am so happy to have found your channel. Great Job!
My Joff ( also male) is a rescue. He is six. Or maybe seven. He has a gimpy back leg. We don't know if it is congenital or what but he doesn't let it get him down.
Both my dogs are rescued. Actually, Bruin (his original name) was from a family with kids and they were too rough with him. My other one Roamer followed me home from the park. Bruin sometimes has a leg he holds up but he only does it occassionally. Nice talking to you and may you have many years with Joff. (cute name)

I wish I had seen this one before I struggled with a different one with no talking, no pattern, just a video. I am so happy to have found your channel. Great Job!
Omg, Debra S--for a second I thought your response was my response--your little "guy" looks like my Joffrey.🙂
My little guy, who is a male, is 14 years old. Has to use stairs to get on the couch but he is still running with his buddy who is 12 years old.
(cute name)
I am sho glad I am not the only one that had only a video. It was so difficult.
I absolutely love this Stitch. Thank you very much!
