    The Sukhoi Su, is easily one of the most beautiful planes ever made. Every curve, every line gorgeous. I have only ever called 1 Machine Sexy, that was my 1978 Firebird Trans Am, I think the Sukhoi Su's belongs on that List. Sexy !

    That sweet landing with the nose up was like a knife spreading butter down the runway. Power at will to hold it off. Thanks for showing an SU30 flight.

    Just unpacked the Su-30. I found something interesting that you may want to post. I looked at the rear of the aircraft where the tail cone is installed and noticed a "steel weight" glued into the fuselage. Clearly this is for balancing. Just a point of interest that's all.

    I put 4 packs through my BNF today. AS3X is locked and loaded! Safe is a great feature in it as well. 2 packs were rcjetwerxs 6000. Those were my favorite packs to use in this bird. Easily 3 min flights with 3.78 left. 1 pack was 5100 carbon and had great punch too it but shorter flight time. Last flight roaring top 5500 was great to use in it too. This is my favorite eflight bird, they knocked it out of the park with this one. Only thing I have left to wonder about is what would it perform with 2 80mm fans in it!

    • @PilotRyanMedia
      @PilotRyanMedia  4 роки тому +1

      I like your thinking. Did you fly at high rates

    • @mrt1035
      @mrt1035 4 роки тому

      Pilot Ryan Media yes, I stayed in high rates majority of the flight batteries, mid rates ok but I didn’t light low rates. My first 2 flights I didn’t get to crazy with it because I always just have that feeling on maidens. Those 2 landings were smooth as silk. My third landing I bounced a bit but that was because I had safe select off but a little throttle calmed her down. I’m amazed at this birds floatyness so to speak. Not a word but who cares!

    Having flown many of these foam jets, it seems to be a bit anemic. Takeoff roll was long and seemed to fly well at .5 - .75 throttle setting. During the rolls it looked to have the typical corkscrew that all motion jets minus the F-104 exhibit. A three minute flight with taxi in and out and a battery pack coming back in the teens doesn’t seem to be very economical for most people. I was initially interested in this aircraft, but the flight reviews have shown that it would be another plane in the hangar that wouldn’t get a lot of flight time due to its seemingly power thirsty flight performance. On the off chance that one ended up in a Bandicoot field, I’d recommend cutting into it and rewiring the ailerons for flaperons and the elevators for tailerons. This would improve the axial rolls and open up the envelop in the slow flight controllability. I have done these mods on the F-18, F-15, F-16, F-22, F-4 and A-6 with 100% success and performance increase. Also, I’d like to see another operational livery other than a demo team. In my opinion it seems odd to fly any demo team livery as a single ship.

    Got some problem sometimes to land with this jet, I'm not sure how much throttle to give when approaching the landing. Half? Less? And then give it a little bit more when is about to touch the ground? I'm tending to bouncing sometimes, which is not good for the landig gears. Too less throttle and too much flare?

  • @electric_rc
    @electric_rc 4 роки тому +1

    Cool jet, The jet looked sluggish at times. I wonder was it because of the size of the battery you were using or do you think the jet is under powered?

      Looks like you're gonna need to move that CG back a bit to get into decent high alpha configuration Ryan and max out elevator to 125%. Yes it looks like a nice flying bird but for the crazy dollars they want for it, it just doesn't do enough cool stuff without thrust vectoring. You need to up your rudder rates too to thrown that arse end around more in the turns. Less gushing and more critique please, looks to me like its slow to get off (on a decent surface) so wouldn't handle grass well at all.

    Ryan bought a roaring top 70c 5500 weight 1.8lbs I pushed it all the way forward and I balance at 130mm while this is in range I want to make sure I have this correct before I fly. Don’t know why I am so concerned I have several freewing jets. So from the root of the wing where it touches the body I measure back for my cg and as I said 130mm I cannot move it forward anymore is this right?

      Watch our flight review as well. Knowing what I know now I’d just have the battery as far BACK as it can go

    No flaps, just airbrake, what is the roll out after touchdown. Got the plane, now looking for a runway.
    Thanks Ryan

      It does ok, land nose high alpha and it can slow down

    It does sound better than my Freewing SU35! Is that an EPO or EPS?
