You know there are lots of us Henry Level Action Golden Boys 22 Cal. I have one next to my night stand. No light available. I would purchase one in a heartbeat if you had that option
I don't know if you already bought either, but for a rifle the TLR 1 HL is much better. The TLR 7 is decent for a compact light, but the candela is very lacking. I'd rather go with a dedicated rifle light for most uses on a rifle though. Most handgun lights have poor candela. Something like a Surefire, Arisaka, Streamlight, Cloud, or Modlight rifle light and a tape switch (probably tapped to the handguard) would likely serve you well. Never tried that set up myself, but would be willing to try it.
I've been looking for that exact gun, with that exact kind of set up. Did you say that was an octagon barrel? How long is the barrel? DROOL, DROOL, DROOL! I have been perusing your site for awhile now trying to decide on which set-up I want to go deep for the summer/fall season. (NW Montana) The only thing I want less than to kill a griz, is to become griz poop. You guys have some amazing gear.
Yes, that's an octagonal barreled Marlin cowboy that I had Jim Brockman cut down for me to trapper length (a hair over 16"). It was the first one he'd ever cut down. It's very light and handy for a 45-70, but harder to shoot well with the heavier loads than the heavier models with the pistol grip style stock. How heavy of a load you actually need (I've used up to Garrett 540 grain hammerheads) is a different topic. I've had an XS rail off and on it over the years with various optics. Now I've also got one of the stainless trappers with an aimpoint t2 on it, so I took this one back down to lightweight with iron sights and called it a day. "the only thing I want less than to kill a griz is to become griz poop" - I can definitely get behind that, although I'm far more worried about a chance encounter with a moose than a grizzly.
Sweet! I love that its M-lok I was just thinking about those new surefire scout-pro's, maybe a guy could get one of those rolled around right up against the front of the forend on the support side.
One of the beautiful things about a lever action is just how good it is for hand carry. It also carries well on the side of a pack because it is nice and flat. I've also got one that is set up for side sling swivels that carries very well cross body.
Yes, as with everything metal, production difficulties (anodizer messed up a batch and then lied about it for 9 months -- "almost finished". Needless to say, new anodizer once we found out). Make sure you're on the notification list for this summer's delivery.
I just purchased the light mount for my Henry Mare's Leg in .44 mag. I am going to mount a laser on it for accurate shooting. Having no shoulder stock, shooting a mare's leg accurately can be challenging but this mount allows me to add a green laser that transforms the mare's leg into a accurately viable defense weapon when shooting from the hip. Thanks so much.
Everything has it's place. For hunting, we carry bolt actions. Also have been recently carrying a little Ruger American in 300 BLK quite a bit. However, when it comes to manual actions, you can't beat a lever action for compactness and handiness. They're also way quicker to operate than a bolt action right up until it's time to reload. All that being said, a 300 BLK ar pistol makes an extremely handy camp carbine as well.
I have a Henry big boy in 44 magnum... will both these products work on my gun... assuming the 44 magnum will fit the 45/70 size and no fall out... thanks. If it works I’m sold on both
This is comparable with AR light mounts (including ones made in China) and less expensive than other lever action mounts. This mount is made in America which is expensive and there isn't a lot of markup on it.
@@HillPeopleGear I mean made in America is great but 110 is a lot for a light mount. I have many quality light mounts Haley strategic, arisaka, iwc and none of them were 110 dollars. At that price I could buy another handguard drill it and screw on a piece of magpul rail. I do like the product but I don't like it $110
The lever light mount is outstanding. Great job!
I just bought one to try and attach a light to the piston cylinder on an M1 Garand; we'll see how it works!
Always excited when a new hill people video comes out! Thanks for all the time and effort you put into these.

Looks like the perfect additions to my Guide Gun
Nice products... lever action is my next build. Thanks ✊
A way to use a tape switch while keeping my wood furniture would be amazing. Trying to decide now between a TLR 1 or TLR 7A.

Handy, functional gear like always.

Interesting gear! I also like that chest rig your wearing!
I have the stock cuffs on my 6.5 Creedmoor, 33 Nosler and 7mm-300. LOVE this piece of gear. Anything else pales in comparison.

Very nice, I'll be getting one of each for my Winchester 94 trapper 30-30.
Ha! "Steampunk aesthetic" always fun to watch your videos.
I hope you get more in stock. I cant really find anything else like it anywhere else.
we will. you can email info@hillpeoplegear.com to be notified when they are in stock.
bingo!
How do you hike with a lever action? Attach it to your pack or do you just carry it?

Is this still made? I haven’t seen it in stock in years.

Need to bring this light back in Stock

Would love one for my h001 22. I would like to use it as my predator control gun but without a light on it my 10/22 wins the day.
Will 12g shells fit in the stock cuff? One heck of a market opportunity.
Yes we have a 12g version
Hey I Like it Thanks😎
Would this set up work on a Rossi R92 .357 rifle?
Why do you prefer lever-action rifles in the backcountry vs bolt actions?

Yes you are correct
I would like to know where you got the leather lever wrap. I need one on my big loop 45/70.
Made it
Does 357 fit well in the 30 cal version or are they too short?
you just put them in to the rim of the case. there is elastic that is below the cartridge but it isn't a problem.
Hill People Gear thanks for the reply! Much appreciated I will order one for my new 1894 and another for my mvp lr308
Do you have a light mount for a lever action that is a single barrel design (i.e. Henry long ranger)?
No - although if you check the specs on the LLM and measure your barrel thickness, the one we sell might get it done for you.
I could use a stock cuff on my 336
👍
Great hat! Where did you get it?
Thanks. Davis Clothing in Delta Colorado. It's a Beaver Brand -- no longer made.
Cool
$110???? what the actual heck?
