o7 CMDR! Nice video, keep going! (btw, to detonate the charges before the time runs out, you need to select the fissure in the contacts tab and then a detonate button wil apper; i think the asteroid's fissures only apper when you have prospected it with a prospector limpet)
Patience is the key to core mining. Can get nothing good for ages then a whole bunch come along. Core rocks are a lot brighter and tend to stay bright as you get closer, while the surface and sub-surface rocks get a little dimmer when approaching. Prospecting limpets make the job easier. Starting with 2 full strength charges into Low fissures. Prospectors will also allow you to detonate faster. Krait Mk II and Python Mk I are the best core miners. T8 would be but it has a habit of killing limpets on release. Shields are also a good idea on core miners. But, like everything with ED, there's no real right or wrong way to do things. Just enjoy it.
Not a pro miner here but I did a lot of profitable Core Mining myself in the past. The Anaconda would be the worst ship for that job in my mind. It's slow, not very agile and flies like a brick. But hey, choice is yours. At least the ship has a chillout factor, true 😅
Doing some chill mining would be fun but i am rather far out in my exploration aspX. Maybe its time to start heading back and cash in on a bunch of first footfalls. Been playing a couple days here and there and have probably stacked up a decent chunk of change.
Curious: why do you not use a prospector limit to check it out as it shows where the fissures are? I am not an expert miner so just wondered if there was a benefit for not having a prospector?
The explosion is one of the best sounds in the game! I'm impressed how well you did without a prospector limpet.
I'd say it ranks #2 right behind the discovery scanner "honk".

Thanks for that!! I couldn't remember if I HAD to prospect it for that option or not. o7
You may also deactivate charges this way if you plant too many.

Yep. I typically use them but for this video I was less interested in the haul and more interested in the process. :)

Yes...the "best ship" to mine is the Imperial Cutter, but the choice is yours!
@larkvoid still clumsy but better. I would prefer the Type8 / Python / Krait.
@@Tepnox I use the python

Because I just use my telekinesis to read the rock's brain...which is why I come up short most of the time... ;)
@ this makes a lot of sense: I mean the bit about your telekinetic powers not about how short you are…. Oh wait, I may have misread your comment….
I'd so much rather watch you do mining than have to do it myself...
hahaha!!
