  • During our stay in Corsica we did 9 day hikes and two Via Ferratas. Here is a video from these two Via Ferratas.
The first one we did was Via Ferrata Asco Vallée Aventure.
The Via Ferrata has 5 courses of progressive difficulty. We did the medium +. They all have monkey bridges, inverted ladders and footbridges. The most exciting and fun was all 6 long zip lines.
You are allowed to go without a guide, but you have to book in advance at Parc Asco Vallée Aventure. You are not allowed to use your own equipment, the Via Ferrata has a special type of equipment which you can rent.
The second one was Via Ferrata de Chisa
I did 3 attend before I was able to climb the Via Ferrata de Chisa. On the first two visits the Via Ferrata was closed due to the risk of thunderstorms, but on the third attempt the weather was good and there was no sign of thunderstorms.
The Via Ferrata was just open between 9 - 12 and you are able to use your own gear. If you don´t have a tandem pulley, you can rent it at the site.
The Ferrata was fun and exciting. It had classic vertical Via Ferrata climbing with some part of overhang. It also had footbridges, rope bridges, ladders, rope net and zip lines.
The tandem pulley you can rent is not recommended for this kind of ziplines. It was a Petzl Tandem pulley Model P21 CAB (Yellow). It should have been the Model P21 SPE (blue) which matches the speed on the ziplines. The pulley gets warm and I have read that in some cases the bearings of the pulley have broken. Bring your own pulley!
