I live in Narvik, Norway, 200 km north of the Arctic Circle. In the summer I do walking, scramling and via ferratas in the mountains, mostly in Norway, but also in the Alps, the Pyrenees, Patagonia and Canada. In 2022 i hiked the PCT from the Mexigan boarder to Canada.
In the winter I go skiing, mostly back country and ranodee-skiing.

Nordlandsruta, Thru Hike The Nordland Trekking Trail
Inger and I thru hiked Nordlandsruta southbound in 29 days from 17th of July 2024. We spend, as usual, most of the nights in our tent.
Nordlandsruta, The Nordland Trekking Trail, is a 650 km long hiking trail in the county of Nordland in Norway. The northern terminus is Bjørnfjell, near Narvik, and the southern terminus is Susendalen in Hattfjelldal.
The trail follows the mountains border area between Norway and Sweden. Some 130 km is on the Swedish side of the border. Two thirds of the trail is north of The Arctic Circle and the trail takes you through three national parks and six nature reserves. Most of the trail is above treeline.
The trail pass Northern Norway´s three highest mountains, Oksskolten 1916, Suliskongen 1908 and Storsteinsfjellet 1894, and five different glaciers.
There are 43 accommodation options, mostly unmanned DNT-cabins, along the trail.
Hiking from mid July you will normally find a lot of cloadberries and blueberries.
For those of you who are familiar with the Swedish Kungsleden, Nordlandsruta is mostly on the Norwegian side of the national border, on the same latitude, but 200 km longer.
While Kungsleden is crowded, you can hike for days on Nordlandsruta without seeing other people. You will probably see more reindeer than people along the trail.
Hiking seasons are from early/mid July to mid September, and hiking northbound or southbound is your option.

Great video. And amazing hike. This is one of the most beautiful places all over the Norway, right? Just fantastic.
Beautiful as always, Bariloche !
Thank you, I`m glad you liked it :)
Herregud dere er så flinke!! Fantastiske videoer, tusen takk!!
Did you walk the whole trail? Respect, a great achievement and a very nice tour. I know large parts of the route between Katterat and Saltfjellstua, but from several tours. I've never done such a long hike before. How did you manage with the food? There is almost no opportunity to buy anything on the way. You can't have carried food in your backpack for so many days. Couldn't you?
"Did you walk the whole trail? " - So I mean, was this tour the whole Nordlandsruta with 650 km or does the route go even further?
Yes, we hiked the whole Nordlandsruta, from the northern terminus to the southern terminus, 650 km. We had a resupply box at Sitashytta km 101, Graddis km 374, Umbukta km 518 and Tverrelvnes km 623. We did also go down to Sulitjelma, km 305, to a resupply at the local shop there. Some hikers took the train from Lønsdal, km 390, to Rognan for resupply. We carried food for 8 days at the most, and I carried the food for the bouth of us, so I had food for 16 days in my backpack after resupply.
Bravo !
WOW ! Amazing !
Great video 👍
Sprek tur i fin stil, i herlig natur!
Beautiful as ever.
Nydelig! Dette var kjempeartig å få se. 👍🙂
Beautiful
So lucky with the weather and snow conditions. Really nice round trip, with fairly long sections, but good with great conditions and longer days of April. Nice video.

Bravo. Félicitations ! Very nice hike I didn't know. You give me a good idea.
Thank you for sharing. Beautiful trail.
At 3:22 is Finder whose Trail Journal blogs i followed!
Respect!
It's so breathtaking!
Thank you very much for your exciting travel videos! I really enjoyed watching them! I plan to do my first trekking tour in Patagonia this year, but will only have a little over a week on site. I'm currently hesitating whether to do the O-Trek in Torres del Paine or the Huemel Circuit (plus a few day hikes from El Chalten). The advantages of Huemul seems to be that it is less crowded and everything is a bit more natural and wild. The O-Trek, on the other hand, seems to be even more stunning than Huemel (at least this is my impression on the videos), but is much more commercialized. If you had to make a recommendation to someone like me who only has time for one of the two, which would you recommend? Which did you like better? PS difficulty is not a criteria for me; I already have quite a lot of trekking experience 😉 I would be delighted to hear your opinion!
Beautiful ❤
Really hated you have to pay so much for everything in Chile, loved that it was all free in Argentinan Patagonia.
I agree with everyone’s positive comments, and here’s the BUT; only one shot after 12 minutes actually putting the tents and laying them out inside. No shots of equipment used, how food was cooked and prepared, and the video needed to be in English so 99.9% of the human race couldn’t understand a word. . No other language works on UA-cam.😢 anyway, who cares? You guys clearly had a blast.
Thanks for watching and comment on our video. There are some shots of the stove prepering food and water, but I didn´t mention any brand. I spoke in Norwegian, but all verbal speeking is translated into English in the subtitels. The subtitles may not appear automatically, if so, you must select it.
I was born close to thePyrenees and I never realized😢those mountains were so beautiful
My friend, Beautiful Upload friend. keep it up. Thank you for sharing this to us. Greetings from Korea
Hello, I saw your nice post and I would like to know if book the whole package with Fantastic Sur. It seems expensive and I have the equipment.
Hello :) No, we did not book a package. We only booked campsite on each campsite and used our own equipment.
Thank you so much for the message! Do you have the website where you booked the campsites? Was it more than one company for the bookings? Sorry for so many questions!
We used www.bookingpatagonia.travel. I think we used the Personalized option and selected Toutes (Classic routes in Torres del Paine.) When you select O Circuit you can book campsite from both Vertice Patagonia and Las Torres in one operation. This website is very usefull: stingynomads.com/torres-del-paine-campsites/
Fint!
Nice 👍🏻Har du høydeprofil for denne lille helgtur? ;-)
Wow!! Very beautiful. Love your videos.
Wow!! Beautiful video. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Bjorn, I hope you and Inger are doing well. Patrick and I watched your two PCT videos last night. What an amazing journey. I remember you telling us that you hade done this when we met in Patagonia. Thank you for sharing this. It looks like a beautiful hike. I don’t think I could sell this to Patrick, as beautiful as it is I am not sure either of us could commit to completing a 5 month trek. You and Inger are such an inspiration. We speak of you often when we are out hiking; always talking about what an impression our meeting made on us. Keep posting your travels here and on Facebook. We love following you.

Fint!
Wow wow ! Fantastic view really but how were the knees ????
Thank you 😀 Our knees are just fine 👍
