I set built for years and years, then moved to PreWar “Type Card” collecting.
Now that most of those are starting to be too $$, I have decided to go back to set building.
I had a UA-cam channel for my Type Cards, but now thanks to your inspiration, think I’ll go do a new channel with set building.

oh my, i def have to see your collection! and btw dont create a seperate channel just on set building, keep it all in one! trust me. people who set build appreciate pre war just as much!

yes! i finally realized that you can store these cards in small count boxes and just keep them on the side in which i just started doing.

Good ol’ card boom. Selling $40 cards for $200 was nice. Now I get to have fun collecting them for cheap (bit more than the first time around) again.

I am a set builder by heart, so I am happy to see you are starting back. 50's sets are going to be longer builds. I am happy with just fillers, to me they have a better story with each crease, heavily loved.
atleast card prices are coming down alittle bit!
I’m a set builder too but never understood you guys and the binders. I’d be worried about the cards coming out and getting damaged. I use graded shoe boxes and have my cards in card savers. Good luck in your set building. Take care
nice, what sets are you building?? im a binder guy, who enjoys looking at baseball cards in a binder, im not worried about damaging my cards only because i dont travel with them, nothing more i hate is not being able to see my cards and having them put away in a box like my graded cards, however that'll change once i get more card displays in the future. if you cant enjoy your hobby then whats the point..?!?

You can also sell dupes on sportslots and use the money to get more from there.

Aww man, that kinda sucks but you know what could have been a wise move in the long run. Plus you get the entertainment of rebuilding. I am collating my 90’s stuff. I like vintage but I like reliving my youth and that was 80's and 90's best wishes on future stacks.
set building is sure entertaining, thats for sure! i like reliving my youth too sometimes opening older packs just for that reason.
I knew you would be back to set building...I am looking forward to watching the journey again.... love seeing your short stacks...fat stacks... maybe I will get more motivated to my 70's... have a great day!

lol thats impossible to buy when living in los angeles! ugh... my mustache i had for 10 years, i had stopped fixing it since the mask mandates started happening. its nice to be able to curl it up again, sometimes.

@GeezMikey Currently building high grade 64, 69 topps baseball. I'm almost done. Then, considering 54 Topps ....
@@Gregk51 nice, those are fun sets.. i saw somebody once build a 1969 topps set but only with autographs! it was insane! have you completed any sets yet?

Yes, over the years, I've managed to complete every Topps set from the 60's and 70's. It's now become too expensive to build 50's sets. Once I complete 63 and 69 I guess I'll consider more obscure sets like 63 Fleer, etc.
Yes you did say you didnt set collect anymore. We forgive. Looking to complete my 70T at the AC National.

Sounds like your sell timing was great, as far as market pricing goes. One of the really cool things about collecting is that we are all free to define our collecting approach and pursue cards however we like. Gotta follow our hearts! Thanks for sharing your journey with us. :)
thanks my dude! theres always pros and cons to the situation. pros i added some key cards to the collection during the card boom.. cons, i have to start over again haha, which isnt a bad thing!

Set building is fun, I built a few sets. Someone has to keep track of all the commons. 😝 Really cool to add a Ty Cobb to the collection and love any great card from 1954! Thanks for sharing Mikey!

Hey Mikey we always gravitate towards what we love! The way I bounce around on projects it would take me forever to build a set 🙄
and that's the beauty about collecting, its all unlimited!
tell your GF. you are going to get her a "She Shed" and then put your cards or records in it instead, then tell her she is in the old place you stored them so your just trading places for them.
