I have a '23 SR. Hands down the best car I ever owned for the money. I have no desire for any other car high-end or not; love driving it in sport mode! Keep going Nissan don't let up now!!
Finally somebody who does an honest, unbiased review. I had a Maxima as a rental and was completely shocked at how great it was. I have a luxury car and was still impressed by it. I've driven other Nissan CVTs. Some were bad, some were OK But the way they tuned it in the Maxima was phenomenal. And the engine note? Sweet!
Glad you appreciated this review my friend yea the people who complain def have not tried these new Nissan products def not what they were 15-20 years ago. Thanks again for stopping by!
@@MeynMotorGroup hey man might not get around to this but I’m looking at a 2021 with 40k miles for only 20k out the door! I love the look of them I was just wondering what I need to do to make these things fast I’ve been trying to find people that have upgraded these in any way but can find anything other than a cat delete thank you!
@@airuzair2424 Currently at 190,466 Miles...I've changed the CVT fluid about 6 times since I've gotten the vehicle. I change it around every 30k-40k miles. I've used Valvoline CVT fluid for my changes. Car is still running smooth. I've never flushed my engine or transmission (Heard it can do more harm than good). I've also never changed the battery and only real work I've done to the car is recently replace my shocks/struts and change out my spark plus at 175K. Also had my tires changed twice since I've owned the car (Good Year comfortred)
@@CamxCam. Yes I commuted from Central PA to Washington DC/Jersey for nearly 2 years. Most of my miles cam between 2017-2018 when I was a contractor for a courier service and would drive in my Maxima from Lebanon PA to NYC 5 days a week. I put 70K between Novemer 2017-August 2018. I've put 30K a year since August of 2018.
Got the 2021 Maxima Platinum, the 40th Anniversary edition. Love love!!!! Rides like silk, sporty, fun to drive and comfortable! A definite eye catcher. Anyone on the fence, test drive one!
Awesome and honest review of the Maxima! I bought a 20 Maxima Platinum with the rakkuda tan seats and I love this car! It’s fun to drive and handles pretty well. I traded in my 17 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk v6 and as much as I loved that car, I love the maxima even more! It was an upgrade for sure and I’m a proud owner of it! Had to adjust to paying premium gas prices but I just make sure I don’t let it past a quarter lol I live in Cali need I say more? Lol. If you’re thinking of getting this car get it! It’s definitely an eye catcher too.
I bet 90% of the people that bash the maxima for having a CVT have never driven one. I think they would be surprised. The CVT responds very well and this car is pretty fun to drive. The acceleration is surprising, especially when you’re already going 30 mph or so and you floor it.
That is correct you are spot on about the people bashing and the performance of the transmission. Really wish people would try something before judging it so harshly
@@waterlevelroute i have a 2017 lancer with a cvt. No problems at all. The nissan cvts were never an issue here in the middle east tbh. Have driven dozens of nissan sunnys with cvts with over 200k km.
True, I had an 07 Altima 3.5 cvt and I really miss that aspect about it, how it moves when you're already going like 40-50mph and step on the gas, an unspoken gem of the CVT. I'm now in a naturally aspirated Infiniti m35x but I miss that about my old Altima, really made driving it fun.
I had a 2012 Altima cvt. And while I never had any problems with the trans. I personally absolutely hated the cvt. With that said Toyota's cvt is even worst. So far the best cvt I have felt belong to Kia. Now that's a cvt that feels good. In a Kia Rio at that lol.
i have a 2017 sr, and have an hour commute to and from work everyday and drive it very hard....triple digit speeds literally everyday, traffic permitting....and after 70k not a single issue...all i've heard is how bad the reliability is but is that just what people say or are there real issues with the 8th gen? the message boards don't indicate any real transmission issues either...are people just reacting from past reputation?...i'm tempted to trade mine in thinking it's about to die but honestly at 54 years old and having owned 25 cars in my life this is without question the best car i've ever owned and really would hate to part with it
Yes my friend what you're seeing and hearing is the past reputation plaguing the company. I will admit CVTs weren't that great 15-20 years ago and that's left a sour taste in people's mouth but truth is companies have leap frogged from that era and Nissan has made HUGE improvements to not only performance but reliability. If people are that worried, this is a Japanese car you can easily get dirt cheap bumper to bumper warranties on this and ride this thing out. It's a fantastic car
Dude you crushed this review, like I already purchased exactly this car a week ago and I want to go buy another just from watching this review. Coming from a very happy owner of this car you absolutely said it all for someone who is thinking to buy it! It’s a phenomenal car and deserves way more respect than it gets, the CVT is honestly amazing I was skeptical going in on the CVT but I’m so glad I did! Keep up the good work man!
Massive congrats my friend! Humbled to hear your kind words but I'm so happy you like the car. Yea I keep telling people these new Mazdas deserve way more credit and they continued to perfect their CVT to a point where it is honestly superior to most autos in the class. I even recently tested a 2017 Infiniti Q50 and I really didn't like it. Had stability issues at speed and it was so loud at highway speeds, preferred the Maxima much more. Thanks again for stopping by and commenting!
The Maxima of course, none car guy!! Will you fools get off the maxima CVT!! They work just perfect!!! The Maxima is a Hot!! Car! People just like to complain about anything, get a life!!
Came back to this video because it gave me enough information to bite the bullet and get an all black 2021 SR. The CVT, as you’ve stated, it’s super responsive and it’s so smooth. I took a road trip from Charlotte, NC to Danbury, CT and averaged 30.7 mpg while being moderately heavy footed. This plus having a lifetime warranty was a no brainer.
Yeah, I copped the 2020 a few months ago, did you try to use the paddles yet? That thang moves in first gear then swing it into drive sport, I could of sworn I can battle a hell cat. I know it cannot win against that but it beats plenty of cars in its range. Accord sport touring, Camry v6 Acura aspec v6 charger v6 etc .
@@XxNewmilleniumxX I don’t use the paddle shifters. The car being in sport mode is more than enough to suit my needs. It’s dumb quick too and I’m always up to the top, government limited, speed in no time.
I agree with everything you have said. I have a 2017 SR and love everything about it in my 3 year ownership so far. My CVT has been flawless and I prefer it over many other transmissions. I plan to keep this car for many years to come. Definitely subscribing to your channel too, great video!
Hey man ! What your opinion on the cvt ? I’m hearing bad reviews on how the cvt transmission gives out. I really like this car but that cvt kind of scaring me
The side profile of this car honestly looks really good so does the back I wish more people bought them. I really liked this video especially the intros those are always some of my favorite parts but also the transition to the Interior segment with the music and everything it adds a nice touch to me. Great video man can't wait for the next one
I bought my 17 Sr in October. Been seeing more on the road ever since in Buffalo. I like to think I had something to do with it...but I’m happy to see my brothers and sisters on the road 😏
The maxima is one of my favorite “hidden gems” in the sport sedan segment. I had a 2018 as a loaner for a week and fell in love with the car. My family’s C300 Mercedes was having some warranty work done at the dealer and that is weirdly what they had left available. I was immediately impressed with the power, it’s honestly pretty fast! I lined up with my friends’ 06’ Charger RT (stock but mint and 80k miles) and it was a great race. 0-40 the Charger has the dig but past that the maxima started pulling and eventually gapping all the way to 130+. The CVT and VQ35 combo is great in the 30-110 range and will hang with cars you wouldn’t expect. My friend subsequently got an 09’ SV Sport (that year’s equivalent of the SR) and it turned out to be quite the little beast. Will easily keep up with any 5.7 300/Charger/Challenger and shames quite a lot of sporty cars. I somehow even managed to watch him edge out a GTO from a stop light race to 70 which was hilarious on the way to cars and coffee. The old one feels a little bit fast in that 30-100 range as it doesn’t fake shift and just holds it at 6800 rpm.
@@MeynMotorGroup definitely one of the most underrated cars on the market imo. Everyone just hates it for the CVT but usually hasn’t tried it. It really impressed me how responsive they’ve made them. Big update from the early 09’ CVT in my friend’s. However I do wish it were possible to force it to hold the revs besides doing a brake stand with traction off (the only way i know how with a new Nissan CVT have months of experience with loaners.) Really the CVT would be preferred in this car if it could take mods. That VQ35 has so much aftermarket and potential but the CVT will literally auto die with more than a few mods. It’s kinda stupid quick in the mean time.
Yes you are right it's not perfect and I noticed using the paddles is pointless unfortunately doesn't react as quick as it does in regular auto mode but I think for most people, they would be very impressed with this car
@@MeynMotorGroup just wish this thing was AWD and traditional auto. Could even still be transverse to distinguish between the Q50 but that would make this car amazing. Unlock so much tuning potential and would really be a great platform. It’s funny how quick this gets past triple digits being a Maxima and it arguably has a better interior than most Infinitis.
You said exactly everything i have been saying in the comment section about this car! I own a 16 SR and its even more sportier than the sv!!! The sr has better suspension and quicker responding cvt!!! Awesome car!! We love it!!!!👍
I was a Nissan Lot Manager and Photographer for a while. Anytime we got. 2020-2021 Maxima I was all over them cars. They don't get enough credit. Great sound and really fun to drive. We had this gun Metallic 2021 Nissan Maxima SR with Midnight black wheels. I had to help a salesman with a drop off. So I drove the car, it looks super aggressive with those DRLs. I had it in sport and a Mustang was trying to pace me lol.
I recently purchased a '20 Platinum after trading in my '17 base model Maxima. I agree with you, the performance of the CVT is really smooth, and even improved since the '17 model year. Most would expect fairly significant torque steer placing that much hp on a FWD, but the programming minimizes the torque steer and makes for a great driving experience.
I just want to say I have a 2012 Altima and bought it new. Have had zero issues and still get amazing gas mileage and feels spiffy. I've been thinking about trading it in for a Maxima and the 2021 was what I've been eyeing. Nissan hasn't let me down.
I have a 2022 Maxima SR with 28,000 miles and I LOVE IT! No issues. I am just concerned about the reliability of the CVT, so I'm usually easy on it. Everything u mentioned about the car I agree with.
I have owned 3 SV,SL ,SR zero issues with anything 2016-2023 ! These are great cars CVT issues are lies they were the 7 gens not these ! Gas mileage is great the later models 145 mph top in ! Zero to 60 the only way yo beat it is in something with 600hp , fit , finish inside and out no issues ! In Sports mode it becomes a different animal , it takes nothing less than an SS, 392 scat or GT Mustang to best it ! THIS car dominates and interstate ! Long range its perfect as well 26 mpg at 85 mph ! and the sound ! You never get use to its good look's !It excites you every time you get into it . its no more in 2024 So I am going to a TYPE S TLX Acura .The Max will take out 95% OF WHAT IS ON THE ROAD .
I have the 2019 Maxima SR, i wish it had the DCT, but that said, it's a very underrated car, it drives like silk, has gobs of power, and with the new performance BridgeStones I put on it, it grips the road in sport mode, pretty loaded with great Bose sound, great car for what you pay.
@@supertrooper73 mine came standard with Bridgestone Potenzas. They suck. I replaced them with the Continental Extreme Contact DWS. They're much better, much grippier.
Thanks so much my friend trying my best to give the viewers as many reviews as possible always trying to get more access to cars thanks again for the support!
I have the 2017 SR. This man captured the experience perfectly!!! The CVT has a far quicker response then anything I've ever driven. I live in the middle of PHX and it feels like you are flying an aircraft on the freeways. the steering wheel has a flat bottom which when used correctly allows you to steer with surgical precision. It's almost like driving a crotch rocket when gripping the steering wheel at the bottom like handlebars. Once I realized it it blew my mind. It handles at high speeds shockingly well. I've had it for over a year and i've never heard the tires slip. And I drive like a maniac.
Glad you enjoy it my friend yea I think this car gets wrongly criticized for no reason really it's a solid and fun to drive vehicle and I love the CVT honestly
I own a 2022. A lot of reviews seem to suggest other options, but been happy with mine. And been very happy with Nissan in general, my 2022 Maxima is my third Nissan. The car is very comfortable. I love the heated steering wheel and seats. I have had no problems with the CVT, or my previous CVTs on two other cars. I love the looks, mine is maybe gun metal grey...my favorite color among the choices I had, but I had to pay a lot extra in 2022, to get ahold of one. Love the paddle shifters, you can shift down when going downhill, to minimize breaking. Handling is fine, but probably not quite as slick as my previous, Altima Coupe ( which is a smaller car though.) Interior trim with the orange "stitch" accent looks nice IMO. I really wish you could have XM radio at the same time as cell phone audio ( for some quiet background music while chatting with people.) No USB power when car is off, so you can't charge phone...wish they could change that. The overall user interface of the "infotainment" system is ok, not amazing. I don't sugges the in car GPS, it's clunky and seems stupid. If you have smart phone, use that, and you can use it through Android auto I think, which is helpful. Just use your phone to set your navigation, then see if you can connect to Android auto. Overall, after one year of ownership, quite happy.
Great review as usual.. I like it that you do the driving segment before the boring interior segment. You are the only reviewer who seems to do that and it makes a lot of sense.
I bought this car because it is beautiful and the best in his class. Mine was 38k and it has it all except the cool seats and heated seats in the black seats. I love the headlights and the steering wheel, specially on sport mode the steering wheel is so fun to drive. I don’t care about the CVT, if you want a good engine a sedan shouldn’t be in your mind. The charger is nice but the interior is CHEAP and ugly, so be my guest and go for the charger. I’ll be happy af in my maxima blasting music and not hearing the engine you care so much about 😂😂
Nissans suck in general they so damn cheap and remind me of Honda and Toyota just any bum can go get a Nissan which is why I like bmws and Mercedes because it’s more classy and expensive and not that much people can afford it
Just saw your review one day after I bought my 2021 Maxima SR. It’s my 3rd Maxima since the 2016. My wife drives the 2019 S with a few added features, but I had to get this SR trim. Your review was great and pretty accurate. Except for one thing. You dogged the paddle shifters while in a neighborhood and you made a right turn. Said it didn’t have that snappy response. Bro, I took it up a windy mountain road, used the paddles, let the RPM’s at around 4k going from “2nd” to “3rd”, and holy shit! I’d touch the gas and was getting instant snappy response and grip around the turns. Jolted me back into my seat every time. Had a blast! You are correct on the down shifting though. But to say they’re useless was an exaggeration. Even on a straight away, leave it at 4k RPM’s in “2nd” or “3rd” and you’ll get that snappiness. Once again, great review except for the paddle shifter segment. I love my Maxima and hope they keep making them. And like everyone else on the planet feels except Nissan, they need an AWD on this bad boy. It could probably make mid to high 4’s in the 0-60 if they kept the power plant the same but AWD. I look forward to your next review
This car has its own community in Saudi Arabia, and it gained its fame since the mid-nineties when Nissan introduced this car with a six-cylinder engine, regular gear and front-wheel drive, the owners of this car were making modifications to it and many street races were held, which gave Nissan Maxima what its nickname in Saudi Arabia The "deathbed" due to the many accidents due to illegal racing and drifting at high speeds, the sixth generation "or the seventh in the USA" was disappointing, but this changed with the last generation of the Nissan Maxima, which came with a 300hp vq engine, which returned the Maxima - relatively - To what it was in the past, many people now drive this car at a speed of 260 or more on the open roads outside the cities, which gave it a new nickname, "the coffin". I apologize for the lengthy, I want to share with you the reputation and history of this car in Saudi Arabia.
First time viewer here and I really enjoyed it. You did call it an Altima a few times but other then that I will be subscribing to your channel. Keep up the good work!!
I think the best thing about the maxima is the v6 and the Bose sound system! I had a maxima years ago and even back then in the 90"s, the engine and sound system were the best.
Great review, I’ve always liked the Max since my 94 “4 door sports sedan”. From the 95 redesign the Maxima lost its edge but this design a few years ago was a bit of a comeback. Good to hear the the CVT is not the problem many people feel it is.
Hey I have a 2021 SR black on black. I love it. Performs well so far. Nice solid car. I had it ceramic coated a few weeks ago and it looks amazing. Highly recommend that especially with it being black.
Nissan has been doing things right recently. Most of their new cars are pretty decent and their catalogue decisions will hopefully lead the brand in a healing path. Maxima name has still a lot to give.
Leased a mess of Max's since '93. My '19 Max is a satisfying car because of its power and ride. My wife owns a 2020 Versa and I call it a mini-max because of its safety features. Yes, the ride is different but buzzing around town is easy with the Versa. The Max SL has enough amenities and safety features to satisfy most drivers. I know about subtile features offered from other cars but you can go crazy comparing. The Max is solid, great power, well engineered transmission and a nice body design too.
I’m new to maximas. I wanted to reach out and ask a question. I’m feeling some vibration in the front seats when accelerating at slow speeds? is this normal? Exhaust shop says there is no leaks. Thanks in advance!
Just bought a platinum a few days ago!...... Upgrade from an 07altima!.... And yeah there is a really big difference in the cvt in this one. They the game up, los of compliments and were I go. Love the interior.
The Maxima has Sports Car DNA 🧬 remember the Maxima shares with Nissan GT-R, Maxima is a wonderful Car, it’s been around a long time, bad cars don’t last that long! Think 🤔 about it!
“ I see that you’re back” ha ha, great intro bro. Another great video. I am honestly debating between this car and a used Lexus ES 350. My last two cars were Nissan so I do have a guy that can hook me up with one heavily discounted. But I also miss my old ES 300 I had five years back. Not a fan of putting premium fuel though.
Haha 😄 thank you my friend and yes the ES is a great ride I especially like the 2020 model but since you're shopping used it would be a tough choice between the 13-18 ES vs these Maximas. For a more sporty drive maybe consider the 14-20 IS 350 F sport pretty awesome car. But if you want something newer I really like this Maxima
If you want long term reliability you can't go wrong with the Lexus. Nissans are ok but the CVT has been a problem for alot of their models. I think you be happy with both cars though.
@@350zlover2 yeah man I hear ya. Definitely leaning towards a certified used Lexus. Particularly the 2016 to 2018 models. I think it’s one of the best certified preowned vehicles to have in the long run.
@@MeynMotorGroup Hey Kevin, wanted to come back to this because I’ve been thinking a lot. 90% of my driving is in the city mostly 0 to 45 mph. I care about all wheel drive, compact and versatility. I go through a ton of roundabouts, make U-turns, in and out of my sons martial arts parking lot. I have two kids but my daughter just turned 13 so she can practically get shotgun now. My son is only eight he’s not that tall. I’m only 5 foot 6 (yeah I’m short as hell). Strongly leaning towards a Lexus about 5 to 6 years old so I can get it around 22K or less. With all this said, Lexus IS?
@@MeynMotorGroup well Kevin, I found my vehicle. 2015 IS250 F sport crafted line. Ultra white with blacked out rims handles inside mirrors! It was on sale at the local lexus 4K below nada value. I was still very impressed with the 2.5 L V6 and due to my mild mannered driving, it was satisfying enough. I’m picking up the vehicle tomorrow!
I’m a happy 2009 Maxima owner, it checks off a lot of boxes for a sporty family sedan. I’m liking the newer Max although I wish they’d put a turbo on that v6 and give it AWD.
I love this vehicle overall. I try to figure out why people complain about this cvt thing, cars are not built the same as years ago. Alot of these cars now have cvt right? And why they keep making them if people don't like them?
People on the internet don't like or understand the changes made or how they perform. People in real life that actually buy these things have no problem
The CVT was a mistake for a 300hp V6. It's fine on a Versa. I could render the CVT on my 17 Max useless and dead in 5 mins and do no damage to the engine. The CVT is the weak link in the Max.
Having worked at a Nissan dealer ship in sales. Nissan CVT is the worst. Might be better now but still not as reliable as the old auto transmission. I remember the dealer would get trucks full of transmission any program they would just replace the whole thing. So if you are under 3year/36k warranty you’re fine after that the cost comes out of your pocket.
Nissan traditionally made great v6 engines and the one in this maxima is fantastic as well. The z32 300zx turbo needed twin turbos to make 300hp in 1990. Amazing how far engine tech has come.
Beautiful car. I've always thought the new Maxima's were a work of art. Would never purchase one, tho, until Nissan do away with these CVT transmissions..
I've had a '17 Maxima and recently traded for a '20. Both performed really well, but the '20 is even more refined, smooth and fast off the line, IMO. I'd say give it a test drive.
JUST picked up the 2021 SR in Sundrift Chromaflair. LOVE IT! Get alot of looks in her. I had someone ask if I bought the "Concept Car" Maxima! Chose this over Lexus IS350 F-Sport, Cadillac ATS-V and HEMI Charger as I need to get TF away from speeding already. Time to chill and look good doint it at my age. FUN FACT: In order to use the paddles you have to TAP the shifter to the LEFT (shifter in Drive or "D") position and trans goes into MANUAL Mode. In that mode the transmission will NOT up/downshift. You have to use the paddles to upshift and downshift. Awesome for performance driving and adding additional transmission torque. 3rd gear is a BEEEEAAAST! Dropping to 3rd at 40-50mph and power is ON TAP! She's ready for warfare in 3rd! 4th gear is great for taking evasive action on hwy cruising (passing, etc.). PLUS the shifters are ON THE COLUMN, NOT THE WHEEL. Meaning you can downshift/ upshift coming into/ out of corners w/ ease! Up/downshift w Paddles is RIGHT-ON regardless of steering wheel location. My wife's 2020 Ford Fusion Titanium 2L Turbo AWD has the paddles on the steering wheel which is just incredibly awkward to upshift coming out of a corner as the steering wheel is in various positions. The paddles are the ultimate way of squeezing EVERY BIT of that 300HP from that 3.5L VQ35DE engine - ranked by many automotive magazines in 10 Best Engines. Per MotorTrend: "Nissan's big-bore VQ engine has found itself on almost every definitive best-engine list, and for good reason. Forged connecting rods, an updated variable valve timing layout, exceptionally flowing cylinder heads, and moly-coated pistons all lead to the VQ35DE's efficiency and potential. Follow in the footsteps of in-house Nissan tuning firm Nismo for a 300hp version without the aid of forced induction. There's also no shortage of available parts for this engine, which makes the path to modifying one relatively easy." If you're a "driver", you'll have ALOT of fun beating this engine up. The interior is hyper luxurious and comfy. Hard to find a balance of performance and luxury like this with any car. Verdict: LOVE IT!
Didn't like the comment about " you're buying it new, who cares about reliability". Reliability is precisely why people like or do not like a particular vehicle, especially in today's expensive market. The true test is not on a new vehicle. All "new vehicles" drive and handle well. It is 5 yrs or so down the line that the true test of its reliability shows whether faith in the vehicle is misplaced. But for what it's worth, the car looks great. Like the power it has; it is after all a fairly good sized vehicle in need of adequate power to pull it along without struggling.
Yea most won't like it since most won't learn the concept of leasing and dumping they would rather just finance build no equity for the first 3 years and struggle with cars forever.
I'm happy the maxima is still being offered, one of the main competitors in the full size sedan market. All we need is 9AT (dual-clutch) to replace the CVT.
Love mine 2019. Don't have the paddle but too big. It gets up and goes and then some. Corners excellent. The car is light and the performance button completely reprograms the thing. You have to realize the engine has been on wards 10 best 15 times. No other other engine has had that.
i had a 2009 nissan maxima. that thing slouched soooooo bad in the back when you floored it. did they fix that suspension issue with the current model ?
The maxima is more in line with the Q70 not Q50. Also you never mentioned the Platinum trim version available which is far more luxurious than this racing version
Im a current 2020 owner of the maxima, just curious this 2021 model does it have wireless android auto capabilities? As fas as owning it i have an sv model and is a great car but when i went to nissan i was aiming for the SR trim. But seems like the sv was the better financial choice due to my credit score 😒
Currently have a 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5 with 254,000 miles. Only thing replaced in the car has been the alternator and brake pads, regular maintenance. The transmission does take its time when switching from Drive to reverse, but I don’t mind it. Nissan is as good as Toyota and Honda, but way cheaper.
I’m an owner of this vehicle. What I don’t understand is your assumption that it’s not reliable. You said go ahead and buy it, who cares about reliability? So go ahead and look it up: JD Power gives it 4 out of 5 and terms it superior reliability; and so do the other sites. So Isk where you get your information from…?
@@MeynMotorGroup I’ve had 2 chevys. Keep your impala. I’m happy with my MAXIMA. Thank you i did my homework. I work hard enough not to drive a chevy anymore. Fact is: You cannot say “who cares about reliability” when you speak about this vehicle. There is no way around that
I have a 2013 Maxima SV Premium with almost every option available (they didn’t have the Platinum in 2013). It’s quiet, comfortable, and very fast. Have driven 750 miles in one day several times without fatigue - the front seats are perfect for me. Plus it handles better than softer sedans like Lexus ES350 and Toyota Avalon. The car has been bulletproof so far. One caveat - I only have 71,000 miles on it because I own several cars, so I can’t claim 150,000 or 200,000 miles experienced. But so far so good as I haven’t had ANY unscheduled repairs. Zero. I do have the CVT transmission fluid changed every 35,000 miles, so maybe that helps. Currently thinking about buying a new Maxima or a Lexus ES350 in order to continue with a non-turbo, robust V6. Wife has a Toyota Highlander so I don’t need another big vehicle. Frankly don’t like the looks of the current Maxima as well as mine - the current one has too many odd creases and swoops, but it’s OK.
I love this car. Hope Nissan can keep it for 2022 giving lots of new changes. Nissan is hitting it out of park lately. The new Pathfinder is amazing ditched the CVT which didn't look right for a big SUV. Sentra and Rogue are some good looking vehicles even the Versa seems Nissan is doing well with the new lineup agree with others people overlook Nissan like never exists but think with new lineup more people might pay attention lots of people talk trash about Nissan makes angry nor Toyota or Honda what they used to be Kia, Hyundai and Mazda all great cars their reliability has improved over the last years.
Please automakers, don’t make your cvt transmissions fake a standard automatics shifts. Let the cvt be a cvt. My parents have a 2014 Honda Accord with the cvt, 120,000 miles, it does not fake shifts and is amazing. When a cvt fake shifts, it is actively damaging and putting more strain on itself. People need to learn to embrace the feel of a cvt, as they are actually pretty fun.
I like the way you do your car Review Truly Honest not Expecting some unrealistic experience Giving you what your paying for and that's what some dont do they if your gonna pay alot then buy those 100,000 Dollar Cars but for what it is this is good Enough 👏👏👏👏👏
DO IT!! very fun to drive, just remember CVTs are meant for better fuel economy not for ripping it by racing that's how people think it's unreliable cause they abuse it. If you keep it maintained then it should last for a pretty long time.

Finally somebody who does an honest, unbiased review. I had a Maxima as a rental and was completely shocked at how great it was. I have a luxury car and was still impressed by it. I've driven other Nissan CVTs. Some were bad, some were OK
But the way they tuned it in the Maxima was phenomenal. And the engine note? Sweet!

2016 Nissan Maxima.....176k CVT, no issues. Lots of Highway (3-4 hour daily commute). Needless to say the car is very reliable if treated correctly.

Hopefully if this car survives into another generation the cvt will be pulled out. I'm so happy nissan took the cvt out of the new Pathfinder 😀
I hope so too but I was very impressed with the performance of this CVT it was honestly the highlight for me of this drive

Your lucky bro 2019 maxima is my fav car
You have not had problems with the cvt
I have the 2019 SV and it rocks.

That's awesome! Yea Im glad you liked it my friend because I was also really impressed with this vehicle def Nissan's best work
@@MeynMotorGroup definitely one of the most underrated cars on the market imo.
This car is so underrated

Great! Review on Nissan Maxima, a stunning value on a Terrific Car, Driving and Looks 👀 total game changer

I have a 2010 nissan maxima still running strong with the same engine and cvt transmission. Over 211,000 miles on it.
Nissan makes the weakest CVT transmissions in the industry, that’s where all the complaints come from.

Yes! Was considering the IS but the Max has way more room.
Dose it have auto hold ?
These intros, it’s like you read my mind lmao
Haha 😄
Nissan should refresh the interior, use automatic transmission, and add some more leg room to the rear.
I def think this car could use a bit more rear leg room considering the size
I'm happy the maxima is still being offered, one of the main competitors in the full size sedan market. All we need is 9AT (dual-clutch) to replace the CVT.
Exactly, CVT is not for this car, shame on Nissan.
Is this one better than a Camry
Love mine 2019. Don't have the paddle but too big. It gets up and goes and then some. Corners excellent. The car is light and the performance button completely reprograms the thing. You have to realize the engine has been on wards 10 best 15 times. No other other engine has had that.
i had a 2009 nissan maxima. that thing slouched soooooo bad in the back when you floored it. did they fix that suspension issue with the current model ?
Okay, now Imagine this with the Nissan’s 7speed. 😭😫
Haha yea true I suppose that is why I should review an Infiniti Q50 soon
Or the new 9 speed coming on the pathfinder and frontier!!
You know I wonder how much the Q50/60 engine swap would be, with a Maxima.
Zf 8speed
The maxima is more in line with the Q70 not Q50. Also you never mentioned the Platinum trim version available which is far more luxurious than this racing version
I just leased this 2 days ago! 3rd Maxima for me! This car is beautiful! 🔥🖤🤍
Massive congrats!
I have the ‘17 Midnight Black edition, SR, I love 💕 my car so much! It’s bad as hell! And provides safety along with a great ride! ♥️
Loving the Max since 1987!!
Uhhhh Hope you change the trans fluid. Did mine at 35k miles.
@@supertrooper73 Just did that and it helped a lot with the gears and it even feels faster.
Right on!
I love the Maxima I just would like to see it in an AWD format, is that too much to ask ???
I have a '21 Platinum. Its an awesome car overall. In "Sport" its a force....for its price.
You should have bought a Chevy instead. It has the most JD Power awards, if you did more research you would've known that.
There is no way around that
LOL @ Chevy. Nope. Love my Maxima.
@@supertrooper73 I love my powerful maxima too👌
Exactly! She's enough for the reular streets. Makes me do bad things ;)
This cvt is only designed to fake shift at throttle inputs above 60%. It is a constant rpm under most accelerations.
The Maxima is the looks and ride 😎. And to add - the Bose stereo system
I like the way you do your car Review Truly Honest not Expecting some unrealistic experience Giving you what your paying for and that's what some dont do they if your gonna pay alot then buy those 100,000 Dollar Cars but for what it is this is good Enough 👏👏👏👏👏
Hey thank you my friend humbled that you liked the review and my approach, also nice thumbnail pic 😉
" I see you are back". Actually, it's my first time here, but that's ok...
Haha welcome to the channel my friend thanks for stopping by
2021 SR here! Best 4door sports
Im thinking about getting one of these i never had a newer car before, so i will be a first time customer. Any advice?
Do it - they're super fun and whenever I see Infiniti Q-50s I feel I got more car for the same money.
DO IT!! very fun to drive, just remember CVTs are meant for better fuel economy not for ripping it by racing that's how people think it's unreliable cause they abuse it. If you keep it maintained then it should last for a pretty long time.
Nissan for life
I LOVE my 2019 Maxima SR!!!
As you should!
Excellent review, question have you ever reviewed the 7th Gen on this channel?
I have not my friend!
