    nice tones especially in the neck position

    @deathmetallica2nd I think where these pickups really shine is in the high gain realm, hence the tighter focused sound. Where other pups fall apart with saturation and produce mud, this one holds together nicely under the push of large amounts of gain. The flip side of this equation is that it leaves the pickup sounding kind of sterile at other gain settings and with other amp combinations. I find that this pu's character is really determined by the amp itself.

    These are great guitars to hot-rod. My son slapped some pink Evolutions in his. The Edge III is not as quality as a Pro but nowhere near as bad as most people claim. If set-up properly, it'll stay in tune no problem. the weaker metals will eventually wear quicker though.

    Same with mine, I believe the mounts on the pickup itself might be bent.

    @stratocatblue  13 років тому

    @DANizDAN I haven't had much issue with trem instability or tuning. As I understand, the problem with the edge III is that the knife edge starts to wear sooner than other comprobable tremolo's due in part to poor materials. I've already decided when/if this occurs I will replace with an Original Floyd Rose, a tremolo that I have not ever had quality problems with.

    @pisomark Not at all, the pu should be even across the top. Sounds like the pickguard might be either mounted wrong or cut wrong. But who knows, it might yield you some pleasing tones. Thanks for watching =)

    @merctele Thanks for watching. Other than swapping out the neck and bridge pickup the guitar is all stock with the original edge III tremolo bridge and original INF middle single coil. At some point I will remove the single coil altogether and rewire the humbuckers five way with coil splitting serial and parallel.

    @yonicute IMHO, yes. Although I kinda like the tones from the INF 7 and 8 combo. Thanks.

    @SonicGamer1991 You know I whammy the crap out of this guitar these days (part of my bombastic approach) and it does pretty good. Of course I initially spent alot of time setting it up. Lubricating the friction points, i.e. knife edge, trem post and saddles goes along way to going back to "zero." I also installed a tremo-no in it to lock it when it's not in use or when I want to detune. I think next I'll do away with the 5 way switch for a 3 way and call it a day. Simplicity at it's finest!

    @ChroniclesOfSpring It is used as a room mic located just above where I'm sitting. Thanks for watching!

    @thomasjh68 It's stock and it's OK at best I just haven't gotten around to taking it out of the circut. But yes I am still gonna go with a three way at some point. I don't ever use that single coil and I want to be able to have both humbuckers active at once. Thanks for commenting.

    Hey man, awsome playing! I've got this guitar but i was just wondering if, like mine, your whammy bar knocks into the tone knob? If yours doesnt, can you suggest something i can do to sort it out?

  • @thomasjh68
    @thomasjh68 13 років тому

    Did you leave the middle stock? I also heard you say you were going to wire a 3 way switch in. Are to not going to use the middle pick up at all?

    @K1NGDANG3R Right on! I don't have any issues with my trem and I go crazy with it all the time. I keep it well oiled though WD40 to decrease friction based wear and tear. Will upgrade to an original floyd rose when the time comes. Thanks for watching!

    @buckster7777 yep. Best cover on the web hands down!!!

  • @stratocatblue

    @tkaczyk1995 Mine does this a bit, but I've been able to tame it a bit by raising the bar height some with the adjusment hex screw on the underside of the trem. It adjust with the same allen wrench used to unlock the nut. Hope this helps.

    hi....i just get one of these, red. i think i will put this pu....one question....my neck pickup is slanted, is not parallel to the body, near the end of the fretbord is very low, the other side is high near the strings....kinda weird!! it is normal?

  • @stratocatblue
    @stratocatblue  13 років тому

    @PGBUCKETHEAD Although it isn't as heavy as my Les Paul's it is still about as heavy as a strat. I'm thinking in the neighborhood of 6.5- 7lb. I think the JP50 would be comprobale in weight, perhaps a bit heavier as I think it is has a slightly bigger body and bigger neck. If weight is an issue, definately check out Ibanez's S series.

    hi...i have put these pickups in my RG2550Z...the bad news for me is dat dont find much difference btw the tone n color of these pickups n the stock pickups....except these pickups are a little more tighter....is it problem or this is the natural sound of these pickups??
    what could be the prob if there is any?

    @buckster7777 what's worse about Kent's exile off the "tube" is the fact that he got banned for covering a ZZ top song. Really, ZZ Top of all people??? Now that's a bunch of crap!!! Thanks for the props bro.

    I'm thinking about putting the liquifire in the guitar I'm building. Is it active or passive? Can't seem to find that out on the web.

  • @deathcore1239

    @Lamb00FGoD dont return it haha just get an original floyd rose. theyre pretty cheap and fit right in. no mods required. id say get an edge pro (witch also drops right in but doesnt come in black) or an original edge/lo-pro edge but they all cost almost as much as your guitar. so get a black OFR. because yes, the edge III fucking sucks
