There are no shortage of talented individuals who want to come to US. Also I think companies have to prove that they cannot find local candidates and have to resort to foreigners in order to apply for H1B. So it might not be as easy to get H1B in current job market condition.
There's plenty of talented people here in the US that could take these jobs. Companies just don't want to pay them a living wage. They'd rather hire in cheap labor from India. It's all about the bottom line.
@@fredsmith6401you know that to be approved as an H1B you need to evidence prevailing (and often times higher than market) wages right? I worked in a very important American company developing high power inverters, they were constrained by the lack of engineers specialized in power electronics, in the words of the director of the department, they could not find enough engineers to move the programs as quickly as desired, not a problem of money, a problem of finding a capable, experienced engineers, with a 6+ year higher education degrees (that is B.S. + Masters), with ~5 years of experience designing, modeling, testing, and manufacturing high power bidirectional inverters, willing to move to that sorry sad lonely piece of the US with crappy weather and boring life. Not even Americans were showing up to take those jobs, the ones that could didn't wanted, and the ones that wanted couldn't. so that is my anecdotal experience, 100% there are jobs with not enough qualified or willing Americans to take them. Americans are so f blinded by politics and racism, and the youth is also so lost in drugs, tik tok, killing each other or street takeovers.
If you come to US you know how bad the visa system was ... Then why is it a surprise? If you really want to have a peaceful and happy life you can easily go to Germany, Australia or Canada... US offers about 20-50% more money but also keeps you miserable
Some Indian owned consulting companies in USA offer a job status at a charge so that the jobless people can stay. I think there is a minimum salary requirement to prove that one holds a job that American citizens are not able to carry, while paying to keep visa status is the other way. Is it legal?
They should be kicked out at least some hard working Americans can get some jobs in this rough and tough economic conditions, especially when we are heading into a recession.
Ya right... What relationship is America's competitveness being in question when they allow everyone from all over the world to be on the cutting edge? They will get young talent from all over the world. How does GC backlog for Indians help America? It's not in it's interest
India isn't the only place in the world with Talent. H1b, should hire more from other nations with talent. Not just India or China. Every H1B Visa person I have met, not one has a skill that is unique that no American can't do. CEO's are abusing it. They want workers who can't quit or job hob and are cheap.
By the callous way that these employees are being released, it is obvious that the employers do not value them - nor - are they concerned about rebuilding the ranks once the recession is over in 2 - 3 years. Maybe they are of the belief that the AI will be fully functional in that time (hence no need for workers).

Good news now this lot can go back to India and cheer Modi, rather than doing that in the US. Modi has made Indian great. The economy is booming. There is no poverty and other than Adani everyone is super wealthy. Yes Muslim and Christian bashing happens. Lots of violence if you say something like eat beef. But other than that, its great. Yeah and don't criticise Modi. Democracy only during congress. Welcome back brother
Stop Lying, Indians make up 70% of the H1B and no our economy is not 100% dependent on them. They do provide value like every work provides value and is compensated based on the value. Its not all over the world brain drainage, all I see in this video is Indian looking people and that's not the world. I can understand the push for the immigration lawyer for their interest of making $$$. I think the rules should be more strict and really only have the best who got PHD's or MD from Top American university to work here. This would reduce their competition which will benefit them and also benefit us to get the cream of the crop temporary workers. Also lets not be unfair to other countries, they also need their staff to run their own countries. Especially as India being a key player to keep the peace in Asia against overpowered leaders there.
The lady attorney needs to know that even without Indians USA will be economically sound.
Well said. They can hire them remote from India at cheaper rates.
No, they probably won't. America ships Indians in instead of educating its own children.
Immigrants are covering for America's irrational policies.
Indians are the cause of the collapse. Where is the innovation and jobs these people promised to create?
