Bro wrestling is my life. I'd Fucking love it. That's why I love Mondo and CZW. These guys are warriors and risk their lives everytime they are out there to please us the fans. Wwe lol they don't give a flying fuck about the fans. That's why wrestling is in the state it's in now. Nothing beats indy wrestling
The Trade is one of the greatest pro wrestling documentaries I've ever had the privilege to watch, for those of you who are a fan of pro wrestling documentaries, a fan of Nick Mondo, I highly recommend it
I think Mathew is onto something with the mindset of some death match wrestlers. I'm quite interested in learning more about what he thinks of that mindset.
Looks to have fought the pain killers in this interview. You can see it in his face. Hes nit om them here, but definitely was on for a year or so previous.
you guys at RF are amazing thanks to you I got introduced to Japanese hardcore wrestling back in like 96-97 on good old VHS tapes the first one I ever bought was either king of the deathmatch when Cactus Jack won over Terry Funk or a best of Onita vs Pogo I can't remember but they both were amazing
Would love to have seen Nick Mondo in the WWE, Think that was a missed opportunity as so many great matches could have happened. I felt he had just quit wrestling at the time he had gotten super over.
It's a sad situation when you're banged up, can't wrestle anymore, and when you look back on your career, the biggest thing that you can say that you did in career was wrestle for CZW.
+DaringDarkwingDuck that's not bad making it to czw,i trained from age 11 until 18 and was only given 3 matches here in the UK with only about 30 people in the crowd, jobbing for people who had trainned for only a few months, never paid any money infact it cost me money to be on a show and travle to the place,i have just got back into it i am 27 now and had a rumble match last week i was body slammed from inside the ring to outside onto the concrete floor my side is now killing me and there was 20 people in the crowd, even i have to question if any of it is worth it but at least i have some interesting storys and stuff for being involved in wrestling for so long but i need to get another hobbie, hope i didn't bore you by telling you this if i did then sorry about that.
Nope, you didn't bore me at all. Personally if I were a wrestler I would rather wrestle in the UK than CZW. I'm sure that the big promotions over there pay more than CZW. Although, I don't know if you're wrestling for one of the big ones.
I watched this shoot... and honestly seems like Mondo regrets getting into death matches... and it's sad because I first discovered CZW when Nick gave homeless Jimmy the assault driver off of the Ryder Truck....
there's no clear way to tell how much but I'm pretty sure he was a journeyman type performer so he was probably paid per appearance which is a price negotiable and unanimously agreed upon by both parties my educated guess would be $500-$1000 per match plus all expenses including plane tickets, hotel and food and being a journeyman fighting for different promotions he probably made about $3000-$5000 per month depending on his bookings which could either lower or increase his income.
Chris Anonymous there is a zero percent chance that a early 2000s death match wrestler was pulling in 5000 a month. He was probably getting paid 100 bucks a pop.
"This isn't a pro wrestler" LOL You keep thinking that A lot of these guys can wrestler ( like Drake Younger) but there are certain guys that can't wrestle for shit. Just because they do deathmatches doesn't mean that they all can't wrestle a regular match.
***** He may have been paid well in Japan but I highly doubt he was earning big bucks in CZW. Look how small the CZW crowds are, the gates can't be enough to pay high salaries and I'd be very surprised if CZW covered the wrestlers medical bills - Mondo in the video said they didn't even have contracts.
You are wrong. Come to Tokyo, meet him and ask him any question. This dude is a pro wrestler through and through. his method might differ from your favs, but this man is for sure 100% pro wrestler.
I still play mondo in backyard wrestling 2. That's how much of a fan I am.
When I'm feeling insane I picture myself as this guy and want to tear shit up. Even myself. Thank you Mondo
get into yarding
+CyrusCageSCWS I used to Yard when it was huge 1998 to 2001. Fucking loved it. I just do weight training and MMA now
sounds like you'd really enjoy pro training with a good indy fed

when i clicked on this video i thought this was a video of Dennis Reynolds from It's Always Sunny lol
Lol
You could sell so many more of these videos if you lowered the price to like $5. The quantity would more than make up for the lower price.

Well, Rob is far from amazing, but yeah the company is ok.
4:53 nailed it.
This is the first Shoot Preview that I will be buying. 100%
I gotta admit I love New Jack's shoots... like all 400 of them.
@@BradleyVolk3I can smell the smark of you. Being Anti-WWE is so edgy.

As a die hard czw fan all i can say, "Just take my money!"
Legend ✨
Just bought this, can't wait!
He kind of looks like Kevin Bacon.
Mixed with Seth Green
The bit at 12 minutes sounds like it's about Little Mondo/Rory Mondo. I'm very intrigued.
+CRW it is. he actually came back for a bit as a means of talking rory down and getting him to knock off the ultraviolent shit
He is very talented, too bad no WWE contract. Imagine Jim Ross calling his match back in the day, " M.BISON M. BISON M. BISON!"
Would love to have seen Nick Mondo in the WWE, Think that was a missed opportunity as so many great matches could have happened. I felt he had just quit wrestling at the time he had gotten super over.
Is that Sick Nick Mondo, or Matthew Lillard?
I was a huge fan of XPW back then.
I’ll say that XPW didn’t have an issue with CZW.......it was CZW that caused issues
Am i the only one who thinks he looks kind of like seth green
+OG Figures He does 100%.
he do look like him lol

he is a wrestlers wrestler. doing what most cant or wont for the love of the game
***** *Was* a wrestler's wrestler, thanks to making CZW the sole focus of his career.
DaringDarkwingDuck is that bad
he reminds me of the guy from American psycho
Patrick Bateman
world of wrestling magazine, one of the few dirtsheets we got in Australia
I wonder how he feels about Kenny Omega stealing his moves
He is friends with Omega. They are travel buddies.
Is this the singer of Sum 41?
Idiot.
Idiot
He looks like if Kevin Bacon and Dennis Reynolds had a baby.

Has anyone watched this yet?

Foley is god. < Mondo is God.
BradleyVolk3 both are absolutely amazing
Yeah but Mondo is like Mick Foleys wild side on Mesculin.
BradleyVolk3 Yes, but what does Nick have to show for it?
His freaking dignity for saying "I think II'll move on" before he turned 46 and did stupid spots for a payday.
I did get this DVD and its pretty damn interesting. There is a lot of stuff that I assumed was about Zandig but was surprised to hear it was not.
ULTRA VIOLENCE!!!!!!!!!!

Convinced mondo is an ✌👽
he made $17 lifetime in the business
nope he made $17
I'm wrong? so he made how much then?

he didn't even make that he was probably paid in pain pills and pennies oh and hep c for all his trouble too of course.
Chris Anonymous there is a zero percent chance that a early 2000s death match wrestler was pulling in 5000 a month. He was probably getting paid 100 bucks a pop.
XPW sucked, it was awful
This isn't a pro wrestler. He is a performer for sure, but what he did is little more than glorified backyard wrestling for a few bucks. No thanks.
