Table Talk has been on absolute FIRE with this season. Unbelievable how Dave consistently grabs the best of every discipline, and extracts the best conversations from each.
This might be favourite podcast yet. Jimmy approaches everything in a lot of detail and everything he does has a heap of thought, experience and work behind it. I’m going to be listening to this one over and over again because there’s so much info here
One of the best episodes by far! The feats of strength Jimmy is capable on the bench is nothing short of phenomenal. He must have forearms, elbows, wrists and shoulders made of titanium.
Absolutely brilliant podcast episode. The Kolb explains things in detail is fantastic. Now I want tobstart learning equipped benching more than ever before. Awesome. Thank you guy's ☘
I like to hear lifters talk specifics when it comes to plates and bars. As a power curler, I tell everyone when they ask advice, use thin plates if you can and always train on the bar you're using for the event.
Podcast keeps getting better and better. Keep up the great work! Dave your a great facilitator and the guests are awesome. Appreciate the honesty in this one.
People forget how great of a lifter Jim is period . His total 10 years ago was still better than some today he chooses to bench !!! His total is still good !
Absolute gold. The kid that never spoke to Jimmy after the advice is tied up in his ego. Why ask one of the greatest benches of all time for help then not do what he says? Clowned himself
Great podcast guys! Really enjoyed it. Jimmy has an awesome attitude toward giving back and helping people. I wish you the best in the future! Dave great interview!! Thank you guys for sharing!!
Wealth of knowledge and experience, what people should really understand is he has an iron mind set. Jim. Has always been good to me and he knows what works for him and does it. I will be the first to say I don’t agree with band shirts right now , because I have poly numbers to hit them I will move over to band shirts . But if you absolutely hate the band shirt , Jim will be the strongest in any shirt when it comes down to it the best will always be the best no matter what equipment he uses. Great interview as always @Tabletalk ~S.E.W~
This is another very interesting talk.... I listen to parts multiple times... Very interesting, informative and his story is a life journey finding ourselves in weight training much like we are all going through
Great interview! Thanks, Jimmy and Dave, and all other people who helped to do this table talk! Jimmy, discomforts that you face are most likely due to lack of muscle coordination and "supression" of nervous system. Isolated mobility work will not help here! I believe, you need to do some new moves that involve whole body. For example, rolls over shoulders and over head, walking on all fours like in wrestling warm-up. There also can be benefit from Feldenkrais style moves for wrists and forearms. Yoga (dog facing downwards) done for reps, like in hindu push-ups, and static can also be useful. May be this stuff will even help you to master full reverse grip benching. Good luck in lifting 1400, you can do it!
I get almost to the end of an interview with a guy who benches over 1100lbs and he hits me with I’m drug free! All I can say is , jump on gear bro! I’m just afraid that his arms would definitely break then.
Could jimmy total an all time total world record? With his history of a personable best squat of 900@220!!. 1000+ squat 1350+ bench 700+ deadlift total 3050lb!?!? Unlimited
Crazy today we have "Bench press" only guys benching more than most people can squat and deadlift. That is total proof the bench shirts of today are having HUGE carryover. Give me a George Halbert. Kenny P or Jm Blakley any day. That were masters of the bench and were in different weight classes. Not just some fat guy with a 400lb carry open back bench shirt lol
@@henrykjohn78His training frequency is extremely low and he trains geared? Also I'm natty and recover very quickly from intense workouts, if you are an experienced lifter you just recover faster.
@@henrykjohn78His training frequency is Wednesday and Saturday, his GPP is extremely high, his neurological state is primed on a consistent basis, his physique gives absolutely no indication of steroid use... The amount of participation in powerlifting is far too little to determine natural or enhanced limits.

One of the most genuine, cool people in the sport. He seems like such a great person and so mature for his age.

Agreed! Had no idea who he was, and I'm a raw lifter, but hearing his approaches and thought processes was extremely interesting.
Only a few podcasts into the year and this one is one of the best ever. Great conversation.
Blows my mind the weights being lifted these days..full respect..great podcast.

Probably steel, titanium is weaker than steel
I did 20 years in the Marine Corps and I would not encourage anyone to join now. Glad to see things are going well for you.
Jimmy Kolb has scienced the shit out of his craft.
This was a great podcast. I've not known really who Jimmy is and this was a pleasure to listen to and hear his side with explanations.

YES!!
The Marines definitely isn't for everybody. You do need to be younger or go in as an officer if you are older.

Chocolate LMNT goes well in a post-training chocolate protein shake. That is the way I have used mine.
You’re onto something here!!!

Didn’t even know he was natty - the mind’s truly the limit. Great podcast Dave
Anybody can claim natty
Lmao anyone who believes he's natty is a fool. This man was cycling long before he hit his 2500lb total and probably cycling even heavier now
Hes not natty lol
He ain't natty
Yes he is @@henrykjohn78
Grouse episode 🔥

What are body savers?
Presumably face savers/spotting arms on the bench press

Have him hit Dave up on IG @underthebar

Jimmy’s recruiter here (he wasn’t just a number too me.) congratulations on the world record, I’m sorry he got a shitty unit.
Whys he lying about being on roids so much? It's painfully obvious and frankly insulting. Instant loss of respect Jimmy

And equipped shows the "true color" of skill. I'm sure you've got a point somewhere.
