- The way I was not expecting them to come swinging so hard this comeback?! I genuinely did not expect them to be so remarkable this era and I sorry if it sounds like I’m getting ahead of myself but this looks to me like their strongest statement as of yet. This two MV, concept, songs feel the most complete and full to me! I love how there is a story telling aspect to both MV, for Heya it’s as if you’re flipping through a traditional tale book and for Accendio it feels like watching an anime episode. Both are so entertaining and so immersive which makes me want to say that these are also their best pieces yet! Honestly when I watched these two MV, I really got this feeling of “this is a kpop MV”, I’m saying this because of the originality and the uniqueness of it all, it stands out! But not just visual wise, like I said above, it feels to me like this is IVE at their strongest, level 100 you know! I’m actually really surprised in seeing the huge gap between this comeback and the one before. They came back strong and I am here for it! This was bold and I absolutely loved it!

I could not agree more! The song was my fav as soon as I heard the album. Not only is the song amazing but the video is just really really well made. 해야 (Haeya) means "Sun" or "(calling) sun!"
HEYA is based on an original folktale IVE created.
"a tiger who loves the sun"
tells the story of a tiger who is off on a search for the sun, who is hidden in the darkness, metaphorized by IVE
in the opening of the song yujin was holding a pipe and there's a smoke coming out of rei's mouth...
in Korean folk tales instead of “once upon a time” they’d sometimes use “back when tigers used to smoke”
** the idea came from a Korean folktale titled "해와 달이 된 오누이/sun&moon siblings"

I can totally understand what you're saying. In fact, over the past few years, K-pop has lost a lot of its K-pop flavor. In order to break into the international market, the music or MVs have become very westernized (nothing bad, just feeling it's a pity). But IVE's this comeback really made me rediscover the K-pop feel and I love it sm!
I think international fans like it even more if they kpop songs are more kpop-like.

I've been obsessed with HEYA since the moment I heard it. Several days in a row I had in on repeat on spotify all day. The chorus has me by the throat.
Both concepts were flawless for both music videos
"해야"는 한국의 전통 신화(설화)를 우주+마법과 섞어서 재탄생 시킨 곡이라 너무 새롭고 좋았어요 "떡하나 주면 안 잡아먹지"를 "니 맘 나 주면 안잡아 먹지"로 바꾸고 동앗줄을 머리카락이랑 요술팽이...?로 바꿔서 쥐불놀이처럼 연출한 것도 너무 좋았고 한복을 여러 형태로 개량해서 입은 것도 너무 좋았어요❤ 아는게 많을 수록 보이는 게 많은 뮤직비디오여서 짜릿😊 노래는 당연히 완벽하고!

I'm Italian and I can tell you that accendio is not an actual italian word lol. It just resembles accendere which means to turn on smth and Incendio which means arson. The closest word is actually accendiNo which means lighter :)

I started to like 'Heya' a lot more after a few times listening to it and I really enjoyed the MV but I was expecting something else until I finally found it when 'Accendio' dropped. This is IVE at their peak! One of their best for sure and Leeseo & Liz ate so hard this era and glad to finally see Gaeul being the main character. Nice reaction! 🫶🏻

Theory: Gaeul fled because, remember, she was wearing a float of unicorn, which means she probably can't swim, so afraid girls pulling her to water, fled to the bicycle forest. There she found an identical group to them, only from evil, making a ritual with her wand and she decided to get even not knowing her power and takes home, is followed by the villains who want to take their place. The battle for the wand and those of good win, as it spent two minutes of noon, the wand disappears and goes to another destination, since they lost the deadline of protecting, so the wand found a new place randomly, and how how A pure and innocent little girl and was the first to get stuck in her, the wand loses power, because it is impossible for the child to understand what is except a toy. This is one of my favorite MVs. Gauel, being the main character, is simply perfect and the plot, editing, clothing and makeup are simply fabulous and elegant. I love IVE’s concepts and discography. They are really diverse in terms of their music and concepts and I feel like they do so well in the magical girls/cupids themes. Accendio is one of my top songs within IVE (Along with Satisfaction, Love Dive, Off the Record). I just love their light but dark undertone music having that magic essence.
After Blackpink, IVE became my second favorite girl group (my fav of the 4th gen).

I think Accendio is meant to be Latin, therefore means kindling/setting on fire. I bet it became "turn on" in Italian because you turn on lights aka candles/lamps and the word stuck around after electricity.

I listened to IVE pretty casually since I Am, bc I loved that, but Accendio was my jam when the album dropped and now that we've got an honest to god real life Magical Girl IVE concept, I have decided to fall into stan-dom!
