Excellent review. I'm planning on buying this next. I like the Tension Deck mechanic. It reminds me of Pandemic Legacy when you draw outbreak cards at the end of your turn.
if you miss those shots, the zombie will move, every zombie in the same or adjacent tile that has not been harmed will move. So if you miss those two shots he would actually be in your same square. Soo they did think about that.
Wonderful review! Very insightful. Ah...now I'm wondering whether I should pull the trigger on this game or wait for the (hypothetical) 2nd edition with better lighting on the tiles...
3d printing helps a lot with games like this. A friend of mine 3d printed the stairs and doors and it helped with the game immeasurably. Resident evil 3 is also coming out soon, we are hoping to review it soon.
Sean Mcnally good point but a product needs to be reviewed as it comes in the box and this is very expensive for the low quality component quality and many of us can’t simply afford a 3d printer.
@@Carfilliot i get most of my 3d printing done from a friend, just pay the cost of the materials and buy him a pint. You can find accessories on ebay though for some of the more popular items. Fair point though
The board game zombies have a set range of responses to player pieces if they see them. This means that players have no input on the decisions the zombie pieces make. Because its based on a computer game franchise i used the AI Artificial Intelligence term to describe this. In some cases you can trick the board game zombie response by opening the door, taking a shot, and closing the door again to deny the zombie a move because when its the zombies turn again, it cannot see you, so it cannot move.
Excellent review. I thank you. I saw this for the first time about a month ago and have been wondering if I should get it. I was afraid that it wouldn't really be replayable. Also, I thought that it was only 2 players, but with the inclusion of Ada and Robert Kendall, well then, we can do more players. I also noticed the figure of both Hunk and Tofu in your video. Must have been a Kickstarter bonus? Anyway, I appreciate the review... while I love the videogames, the board being so dark kinda' has me hoping they'll release a 2nd edition. Plus, where I'm at in Canada, the hefty price of $145 is a little steep.
I am really on the fence with this one I guess my only real concern is, is it easy to play and learn especially if you are playing solo, I don’t really like heavy complicated games with several mechanics and overly complicated rules
The game is easy to learn, but there is a loooottttt to learn. The game is rather challenging, but not excruciatingly hard. Solo is pretty tough though, if you are playing by yourself, I recommend playing with two characters.
Juan 2oo a lot to learn?! This has to be one of the easiest games to learn in decades, it’s easier than pandemic, gloomhaven, nemesis, eldritch Horror, Arkham LCG, just about every other game in my collection. We shall have to agree to disagree lol
RC Reviews it incredibly easy to learn, incredibly easy to solo using two characters but can be tough to beat. I’d recommend it but the components are poor so if you think that might be an issue for you then avoid.
The Lucky Roll hey no problem I stumbled upon you guys when I was just trying to decide whether or not I should get this board game and man the information you guys provided was very helpful and insightful I’ll definitely be looking forward to more of your content!

Did that ‘2nd edition’ ever come out? Was it named something else? Because I got the board game he has and its still dark titles
I guess there was no 2nd ed 🙈
Genuinely I was contemplating this but you’re right. The board looks really drab and dark

Carfilliot Even just the colouring is to drab. OG re2 was relatively colour filled

Very nice and honest review 😎
Re board game should be made into a phone game. Great vid!!
The "board game, computer game, AI"? I...don't understand. Could you elaborate?

Hunk and Tofu are in a separate expansion (The 4th Survivor) for 20 bucks
