Just received my Bush Co. Alpha Tent and XT Awning from Rex in Houston. He has about 60 Alpha tents that just arrived MONDAY. There are still some available at the introductory price.
You should put a solar collector on the hard top so you could recharge your batteries . I have a Coleman fan/lamp you put in your peak for ventilation and light .
Been researching these roof tents . From other perspectives I’ve been coming to the conclusion that rain fly was the way to go from peoples experience. This is the ultimate. Idk if we’re gonna ever get our rain back the way it was here in California but definitely great product.
Did you ever get the gutter mount idea worked out? This tent may have changed my mind, again, about RTT's. I have an 80 (81 actually) as well and totally agree with your points about not needing the roof rack anymore.
I will be looking to get a rooftop for my Jeep Grand Cherokee here in the near future. Thanks for bringing this product into the light so to speak. Will definitely be a consideration.
Nice tent, Im in the process of making a "Bush Company" tent killer, which will even be just as reliable, 1/2 the price, lighter, way more options and have a killer warranty service behind it. More details to come.
I think you will miss the foam insulation the alu cab has, given the extreme weather variances you camp in. Also alu cab now have the 3.1. I've watched what you camp in and very few (if any) rtt's will survive what your alu cab 3.0 has.

Im sorry but after a long hard day of mountain biking, trials moto riding, snowboarding, or hiking i need a bed thats is at least 6 inches thick with memory foam. These wedge popup campers with 2 maybe 3 inches beds that are not even sleep ready would not cut it for my lifestyle. I wish they would make something more comfortable. I will stick with my truck topper and platform bed .

Awesome tent! Although interesting how non of the negatives you mention about the Alu-cab in this video, were mentioned in your Alu-Cab video. Not one. In either case, this tent looks bad ass!
Hi Richie, the mounting has been my biggest issue. I have an '87 Chev C/R10 shortbox with 10" lift & a permanent ARE contractor's cap. So I've been investigating this dilemma for years, cos I believe the tent needs to be installed on top of the cap, thus I'm worried about the extra weight stress. But come this spring, I'll finally be ready to buy the best setup. So when u say this Alpha will mount without a roofrack, would this work in my case? To date, I thought my best option was to install a Kargomaster Pro Rack first, cos it can take over 800lbs & protect the cap (www.actiontrucks.com/product-detail/KAR06010/ladder-rack-side-rail-pro-ii-series-requires-kargomaster-pro-ii-rack). Am I on the right track? Lemme know ur thoughts. Would help a LOT moving forward cos I really LOVE this RTT as a Canadian, especially with the extra power. Thanks, brother :)

G'day. Just wondering what rack system the tent is bolted too. Is that a combat rack?
That's a Sherpa Equipment Co Quandary rack designed specifically for the GX470/Prado 120.
Wow... that's really sharp. And, though not much need to mention, highly economical for all the cross country travel.

Did you end up getting one? If so, how do you like it?
