By no means do you have to support but Mrs. Gibson and I really appreciate the support as it goes a long way since most of these videos are copyrighted or blacklisted by YT. Lots of time goes into recording, editing, researching, and providing encouraging words throughout each reaction/review so this is an OPTION for those that are able to do so. DO NOT if finances are tight and priorities need to be taken care of first.

Danny has actually gone on record to say that the song was not a direct jab at Christianity. He actually said the song is completely fictional and that you can take it as a metaphor for someone like a boss or someone who has wronged you. I too am a Christian and I love the song sonically but the lyrics never sat well with me.
Plus when he wrote this was also an alcoholic and on drugs and I mean the whole album is all about sex drugs and rock n roll and the wicked side of things
I read that as well but I can't just bring myself to listen to this song as well as a lesson never learned.
This is true
I'm religious but I love this song. Life isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Darkness overtakes you at points in your life, and this is just me, but songs like this really just satisfy that temporary rage and it motivates the hell out of me.
@@clintbrooks7753 we all view art in different ways. That what makes discussions awesome.
Please react to "if you can't ride two horses at once you should get out of the circus" 👌
Yesss!!!!
SERIOUSLY HE NEEDS TO
Yes
Yaaaasssss
Asking Alexandria - When Everyday's The Weekend
I think this is Satan's perspective of his fall
That makes sense
Yes you are correct, the beginning is God coming to Lucifer and offering to save him if he bows to him and praises him, and Lucifer said no, condemning himself to hell.
you are correct my friend and so are you Jordan! Believer of jesus myself but I love this song one of my top workout songs reckless and relentless was one of the best albums ever!
I’m pretty sure the strong anti-God lyrics are because this song is from the perspective of Lucifer after he’s been cast out and he’s upset about it because his views differed from his father. When you think about the song in that context, it kind of makes sense. God’s favorite and most beautiful angel (at the time at least) getting cast out of the place he was raised and sent to the worst place in the universe as punishment. I mean, if my father did that to me I’d be pretty upset as well. I understand why this song wasn’t your thing D-Gibs, but I’m glad you still enjoyed parts of it!
Worsnop said that when writing this song they didn't have any meaning behind it, they just wanted to make a controversial song and that it was just fun to write.
Any link of the video/website of where he said this? Thanks!
@@clarencealdreypapa9607 you can just google it, you'll find it on one of those websites. It's written in the perspective of the devil but the lyrics aren't directly based on the band's views or beliefs.
James Cassells is actually a Christian, he loves playing the song. Pretty sure the rest of the band are atheists, but yeah, this doesn't reflect their beliefs.
@@RomanSwak this is kinda hard to believe that James is a Christian. Hahaha
@@clarencealdreypapa9607 he plays drums for it dude he didnt write the lyrics. I've been in bands that have shove a bible down your throat lyrics and I'm atheist but I wasnt the vocalist so it wasnt an issue
The drummer for this band is actually Christian.
Itoddchi “droomer”
@sosa lol I forgot James plays drooms 😂
Really? I’ve seen pictures of him wearing Blackcraft clothing lol
@@gsgreens6373 just a brand
Danny is also Christian. This song was purely their version of Lucifers view towards God. Hence the beginning when he says he is forsaken. Hence knowing where god sleeps, and creeping from the depths of hell, as that’s where Satan lives, in the depths.
As someone who is absolutely enraged by what religion has generated in this world (though I do understand it does bring positives to those that use it positively), and the tragedies I have experienced (father who succumbed to suicide with passages from the bible in his notes for example), I appreciate the perspective and the willingness to try and be objective to a song that directly attacks your views and beliefs. I am the furthest thing from a believer in God and the whole system but nothing but respect for someone that follows that path. It's all an opinion and where you decide to place your faith and beliefs. Again, respect for tackling this and maintaining your stance whilst making the effort to stay objective.
"Dont disrespect my God too much" 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Whoops- hindsight lol
A lesson never learned, Breathless, Closure or To the stage, those are the best songs of AA, please react to them.,
And where is the another bottle down?
Hope you're prepared for this one lol
He isn't going to appreciate the lyrics lmao but I hope he likes the heavier vocals on this one
React to Shadow of intent: The heretic prevails
StutterKing he ain’t ready for that 😂
I wish. I feel that song will actually get him to appreciate deathcore.
A Halo story😂
He ain't ready for that lol I'd enjoy the reaction but he ain't ready
@@trollartist6664 he's gotta hear some Chelsea Grin first😂
That double bass at 5:09 though.. Gahh these were the days!!! Miss when they were on top!
ayo 😳
I'm an atheist but I love and appreciate how respectful you are towards someone else's beliefs and opinions. I love watching your reaction videos and keep up the good work and doing what makes you happy. If you want a Christian song Please react to all around me by flyleaf
Hey man, I love the message that you are spreading. I've been binge watching your videos the last couple of days and you have yet to disappoint. Keep up the good work
Ooooo this will be good
saw one of the first comments here saying AA are sellouts so I think you should react to a song called Sellouts by Breathe Carolina feat. Danny Worsnop (AAs vocalist)
Someone tell this man to react to sum TDWP already
Ah! Finally a reaction to one of AA's best songs. Respect brother, but this will make your beard fall off.
One of? It’s easily the best one discounting someone somewhere
You give some of the best advice I've ever heard there's a christian metalcore band called the devil wears Prada one of the biggest metalcore bands ever you would probably like them..
They havent really had that message since after 8:18
They aren't a Christian band anymore. Everyone in the band are christians but they don't write Christian lyrics anymore.
Aww here we Go! I love this band and song to death!
Btw I think Asking Alexandria is Atheist.
The Last Day Breathing In Eternal Snow James (the drummer) is actually Christian but the rest of the members aren’t religious. :)
'rip out his eyes, rip oit his tongue. You not gonna rip mine out' well said. I'm not a christain but I respect ppls beliefs. Idk who requested you to react to this but they was tryna get under your skin with the lyrics lol. Js.
The song itself is lit tho and so is AA 🤘🤘
I love how you enjoyed the drums in this and the funny thing is that the drummer James is the only one in the band who’s a Christian
You should do Antivist by Bring me the horizon...
Omg yes
Attack Attack - Stick Stickly please!
It's cool how D connected with the drums so much on this track when James is also the only one in the band who believes in God 😂
You’re a very philosophical man Gibby. I respect you for respecting anyone and everyone for their own beliefs. Keep on keepin on bro 🤘
React to reckless and relentless by asking alexandria
no breathless
both
Asking Alexandria songs to listen to that you will love musically and the message inside the song:
- Closure.
- Run Free.
- where did it go.
- someone somewhere.
- reckless and relentless.
- to the stage.
- rise up.
- into the fire.
AA has become one of my favorite bands, even though I started listening to them not too long ago, and this song is one of my favorites by them, but your breakdown and message from and about the song was awesome. 👍
Oh god lmao. Decided to come cruise through Gibby’s channel to catch up on some metal ore reactions I may have missed. Saw ‘Morte et Dabo” and actually laughed out loud, stopped what I was doing and immediately came to this video. This will be prime entertainment.
Edit: wasn’t disappointed. I know that I’m ultra late to this one, and you’ll never read it, but just know that I respect that absolute hell out of you. Not many people can disagree or dislike the subject matter of a song, and still love it just for the music, and that’s what keeps bringing me back to you man. Keep it up. The world needs more people like you.
I love your reaction to this song. You may not agree with it, but you're open and voicing your opinion in a mature way. I appreciate that so much. It never hurts to have more people like that.
I was raised in the church, so I get where you're coming from with your opinions about this song. I don't really follow that anymore, and I have different views now. I used to really like this song, more for the vocals, and a few lines specifically. Didn't really see the full lyrics until now.
Thank you for reacting.
a response to: “isn’t it better to die believing in something instead of just dying into the abyss”
The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one. The happiness of credulity is a cheap and dangerous quality of happiness, and by no means a necessity of life.
George Bernard Shaw
am i the only one that isnt very religious but still kinda has some sort of spiritual hope in life?
same. there’s gotta be something else out there than what we have now
Love how you handled this my guy
As some people have mentioned, this song is about Lucifers fall written from Lucifers perspective.
The band has said in interviews that the message was never anti-religious but a fictional story.
Danny also stated at one time, that the higher screams were portraying the devil, and the low growls were god speaking to him. So it’s a song from both ends 🤷🏼♂️
Yo check out the song. Breaking the cycle. By * for today * great Christian band
Erno kiss he’d love this
i love your energy when you reaat to the songs makes me smile if im having a bad day.
I love your open minded approach to music. A lot of Christians could learn from your example
I seriously have the upmost respect for you man. No joke. I’ll start off by saying that I am definitely an atheist due to certain situations in my past that I was unable to let go of and it just molded me into what I believe now. However, I personally feel it was very disrespectful for someone to even have you react to this song. Especially knowing what your beliefs are man. I was a Christian at one point so I get it. The huge reason I have so much respect for you man is because of how you can handle situations like this. You could’ve easily gotten pissed off and not even listened or posted your reaction. The fact that you can have respect for someone on the polar opposite spectrum of your beliefs gives me hope that we can all get along despite our differences in opinions. I’ve always lived this way and it warms my heart to know others can have the same mindset. Much love Gibbs 🤘🏻🖤
This is personally my favorite song by AA because it's SUCH an amazing song to (At least what I used to do when it came out) I had a 1986 Corvette for my first car (I LOVED that car. My older brother crashed it btw :'( ) the only thing not stock other than a little bit of performance engagements was it also has a CD player and a BANGIN' system! Lol but I would go out at like 2AM on the interstate mostly and drive around listening to this whole record (Because from the beginning to end it's fucking great. Not a huge fan of the remixes though.) And it would always make it even better if it was raining, Because they use the sound of thunder a lot in that record and when you're driving around with no one else on the road late at night and it's raining it's already an amazing feeling, but then you put a soundtrack to it! And when the lighting and thunder in real live sync up with what's going on in the songs...... Omfg..... Better than any concert or anything else you could ever imagine! Watching the ENTIRE night sky light up with lightning so bright it looks like it's day time for a few seconds perfectly one que when those breakdowns comes and you're doing 95mph on the interstate..... It's more spiritual than anything I've ever felt in church or elsewhere.... Like forget drugs, forget light shows at concerts or anything else. When mother-freaking-nature is your person light show!!! I just my God!!!! Goosebumps and cum..... All I can really say lolol legit makes me want to get another classic Vette and relive those days! And hell, a classic or "antique" car only needs to be 25 years old to get the antique tags. So 5 more years and I can get a C5 (Other than the C3 that I had lol) Corvette and do it alllllll over again lol
As a Muslim, there's about 6 AA songs I just never listen to: Morte et Dabo, The Black, A Lesson Never Learned, Eve, Under Denver and I Am One. 5 of them are about God in one bad way or another and one is about the illuminati, so I just don't rock with it cause the views are directly opposed or, in the case of Morte et Dabo, just a mockery. This song would probably be my favourite AA song ever if it weren't for the lyrics. Now I know Danny says he wrote this song from a certain viewpoint, but that doesn't really change the message of the song.
Gibby I agree with everything you've said here. He has the right to say what he said, but he has no legs to stand on to claim that God is false. You can't disprove the supernatural with natural methods. Science gives you the 'how' of life and religion gives you the 'why', so to claim that the 'how' disproves the 'why' is absurd to say the least. At the end of the day, nihilism just isn't the way to go and it doesn't line up with our human inclinations. If you strip an atheist of their job, money, family...or any other worldly thing they consider their 'life' and that makes them happy, they're left with nothing. Without God, life has no value whatsoever? At the end of it all, you were just a lump of atoms just like the other animals that could somehow reason more. Now I'm not gonna get into morality cause that's another can of worms.
Much love to you Gibby for having your core beliefs in mind while reacting to music. It's quite hard to do that sometimes, but you're great at it! Keep it up!
I love this song , thank you for you're reaction
I've seen a ton of your reactions. Love your energy and passion and the songs you react to, but you gotta understand that 90% of the time, lyrics in metal are for shock value or metaphors for other subjects when they're like this. Even a ton of death metal and black metal bands that literally talk about Satan aren't worshipers themselves. It just sounds good with metal instruments. Try to look a little deeper into lyrics, or do a google search afterwards. Keep up the videos broski
Well said Gibby. I am a Christian, but damn the instrumental and vocals on this is hard.
The look on your face was priceless when the song started like... "Da faq is goin' on here...?" Keep it up DGibby!
I hate that we live in a world where we have to justify what we believe in and try to prove ourselves to make others happy. Keep the peace. Keep doing you Gibbs... The world is a better place with your videos.
My guy, it's not the lyrics, it's the song. The most brutal track on the album.
“Good luck” 😂😂😂
- I was once, Possibly, maybe perhaps a cowboy king
- I used to have a best friend
- To the stage
-If you cant ride two horses at once
-A single moment of sincerity
-When everyday is the weekend
-Believe
-Breathless
Songs i recommend
Love the Channel
The song doesnt bash or disrespect christianity as it presumes as ravenecrow below states. I know it comes across that way and it's hard not to take that way. Any higher power or any state of person or power that overwhelms you is the target in this song. The term "God" is used as a term of higher power or something/someone that thinks they're above you. I misinterpreted this song for a long time until I dove in and really understood the meaning behind it.
Funny thing is Danny the lead singer is actually A huge Christian now. And made a whole album about it in 2016 after he left AA. But try and listen to AA 3 rd album death till destiny, or the 5 the album. They changed so much
A single moment of sincerity should be your next Asking Alexandria song to react.
Oh man I wanted this.
Believe or not believe. It’s a personal opinion and their song. Glad you stood for what you believe in but also really happy you watched the lyric video and not act like a dick. Big fan Gibby. Love and respect responding to the metal scene too
I remember seeing someone comment on the video of this song saying that he once asked Danny why he wrote this song and their other song called A lesson never learned, and Danny replied “I wrote it to piss people off”, and he did, pretty sure AA got banned from playing at a venue because of the song, btw, the drummer is a Christian too, James Cassells is his name.
I love black and death metal and my favorite band is a band called Ghost. They're a satanic(not really) rock band. But I'm a catholic so I feel you D gibby. Christians stand up!! Praise god
Amen Brother I to is Christian love the band don’t believe in there message in what there saying dosent take away that there a good band love ya work Brother keep em coming God Bless u and your family ✞
I’m seeing comments that the drummer is a Christian. Just an honest question, how do you think he felt when they were writing this song?
I'm not religous in any type of way but one of my favorite band is a Christian band Named Red. Check out a couple of their songs like Darkest part, Feed the machine, let go, they're great.
Mad respect for this. I’m not a believer in god but I respect anyone who does believe. Society on both sides of religion need to be this open to the different views of people. Much love homie!
It'd be very interesting to follow this up with "Quite A While" from Danny Worsnop's first solo album. Quite a contrast from the message being presented in "Morte et Dabo."
You are one of few Christian people I respect and actually like I look up to how open minded about stuff you don’t agree about
Asking alexandria "Let it Sleep" video reacts please Broo ❤
Hey Dgibbs. Hopeful that you read this comment.
Been listening to this song since this came out almost a decade now.
I always thought of the lyrics and knows all the words by heart. The first time I listened to the song, I though it was them being blasphemous and was just being honest with their beliefs, but with thousands of repeats and loops, it was really all different.
I see this song as Satan's perspective of the world and not representative of who asking alexandria and what they believe really is. I feel that this song is their take on how Satan feels about the world and what he thinks the end would be. They even said tajt they wrote this just because they want to be controversial and shit.
I know the band by heart and knows that Danny and the other guys are Christians too.
Danny even has a solo song Savior, which glorifies God and how he was saved.
This is a very good take though.
Thanks for being honest man.
Their vocalists name is Danny Worsnop and he actually has a solo project. PLEASE react to his song Best Bad Habit. You’ll love it
The face at the “bitch” part.... i knew he wouldnt like it 😅😅
Asking Alexandria- A single moment of sincerity 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Asking Alexandria- if you can’t ride 2 horses at once..... you should get out of the circus
Lead singer is Danny Worsnop
Its not agree or disagree. Its blindness to the forsaken. Imagine being told you’ll never be able to walk through the gates. Would you still believe? Or would you make a different gate?
I challenge you, to prove me wrong. I got “Morte Et dabo” tattooed on my right bicep because of this song and his message of challenging a higher power to show face. I don’t do minute so please, tell me how my man is doing your god wrong
Low Key idk what i beileve in but this kind of music makes me feel alive when most of the time i just feel like i wanna die٫some times i feel like my own mentality could ve my own destruction
D-GiBBY I fuckin love you bro , you’re the most fire metal reviewer on UA-cam 🤘🏻
This song is about ex Angel Lucifer and that last part is when God triumphed over him when Jesus, his son, was crucified on earth.

Even with danny saying it isn't about god a lot of us from england went to CofE or generalised Christian schools and I've met a lot more people who now denounce the church due to being basically forced into it, I myself went to such schools and attended sunday and summer schools provided by the church growing up and I have denounced all beliefs due to it, but I myself will not hold it against others if they believe
James Cassells, the drummer, is religious I believe at least at the time this song was recorded.
That South Beach Jersey is FIIIIIIIIIREEEE! 🔥🔥🔥
As a Christian myself, I still like this song only because the break down and how hard it goes. Lmao
Danny Worsnop the lead singer made a song on his 1st solo record called Quite A While that has A LOT of Christian influence. He talks about how he hasn’t talked to Jesus in quite a while but he is wanting to when he can. React to that next my dude. I listen to it every time I feel like I’m falling away from God at the time and it pulls me right back in. The song is called Quite A While by Danny Worsnop. REACT TO ITTT PLEASEEE
Asking Alexandria just released a knew song you have to check out called "they dont want what we want!"
React End Of Reason (Asking Alexandria) - The Irony Of Your Perfection is a England band formed for Ben Bruce (Actually Lider Guitarrist) but this band dissolved in 2008. But their few songs are good.
I think what he refers as a god is not as a religious being i think he talks about a collective thought of someone that has a greater power like political one or you can also refer it to the people who use god just as excuse to there own gain :) no hates though
I feel like around the time of this song release metal for some reason was looked down upon so heavily by religious people that they just did this to piss them off. If you remember the motionless in white song immaculate misconception the beginning is basically how I would sum up that time
I heard it was a battle between God and Satan, he plays the role of both of them in the song.
Atheist here, I don't want to argue the god point at all. I know you have your beliefs and that is fine. I do take some issue with you're generalizations about a very diverse group of people that you clearly don't have much experience with. I have been married for 10 years and have 3 children I'm very proud of. I have a good job and although my life hasn't always been perfect(who's really is if they are honest) I have always been happy and relatively fortunate in my life. Respect as always, just want to move your understanding of those without faith forward if only by my own experience.
Asking Alexandria are the best reactions
Great song
I think people request this song due to the title because I can think of many other better songs on this specific album.
Breathless, closure, the match, reckless and relentless, etc
@@rolloplaysgames8840 yup
Because it's a fucking beautiful song. Lyrics and all
This song isn't about worshipping Satan. They're basically saying they don't follow any religion. So that being said. Those who do believe in any religion. They tend to outcast anyone who's an Atheist. Which seems to be a problem in all societies today. Even current time. Also, the lead singer wrote this song to piss people off and basically saying, "why do people have to be punished for not believing in God?" You know? Or why should everyone take the fall for not believing in someone who isn’t real or has no prove of it? No one likes to be forced into something they don’t enjoy. I certainly don’t. I’m Native American and my religions are Shinto and Buddhism. Those who don’t believe in any religion. I respect them and their points of view because I love opening my mind into possibilities that are true. If there’s one thing I learned in human anatomy. “It’s not just one thing, it’s multiple.” And it’s true. Another scenario is that it’s a conversation between Satan and God. An Armageddon or the Rapture. If it happens one day. But there are multiple reasons behind this. Still glad you enjoyed it. I did for sure. 🙏
"besides your own logic, what is your proof in that?" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Songs about lucifers fall from grace and his POV against God
This is the song that made God turn Danny into a country singer
Do you heart comments that aren't posted early? ;)
