- Bit iffy quality, but here it is at last, from Derry's finest lost boys. Snipped from their Granada TV show MOONDOGS MATINEE. Originally broadcast April 28th 1981
I saw the Undertones , Starjets and Moondogs all on the same bill not bad for a night out 30 plus years ago. Don't think the pop world could come with that nowadays.
Flippin heck, what a bill - died and gone to heaven is a phrase that comes to mind,
Great little band. Always felt sorry for them that they weren't a bit more successful. Certainly deserved to be.
Saw them supporting the Undertones around 1980, went out and got their singles on the strength of it. Probably the best support band I ever saw. This single was seminal!

Same here at the Odeon Edinburgh. Both bands superb and surprisingly loud.
They were a great band. Remember seeing them in Oxford around 81 and having a drink with Gary MccAndless after the gig. Very nice guy

There wasn't a great deal going on in Derry at the time (entertainment wise), but this lot where great. Thirty odd years since the Bull park gig and I awoke this morning with this tune in my head. I hope your proud of yourselves boys.

Heard this on John Peel when it first came out. A 'very catchy little number' with a nice twist to the story. Must have happened to one of the guys. Poor Mary though !

Great band ,Shared the stage with Austin the drummer and Jackie the bass player / Singer from the Moondogs belting out there number " Ya don't do Ya " in Belfast a few weeks ago , to say i enjoyed it would be an understatement :-)
Used to go see them in St Pats Hall Limavady many moons ago. Great band.

@rdt0710 Their Peel Sessions were released on cd several years ago. Worth saving a search on eBay, as they do come up from time to time: )

@rdt0710 I don't think it's either, the album version is very different and almost completely leaves out the hook. It was probably pre-recorded, along with the rest of the songs on the series, at sessions especially for it (just like TOTP).
As good as the undertones if not better both from Derry
