Love Hate Love live at the Moore is a MUST WATCH. The whole Moore performance is one of the best vocal performances ever. Layne in all his glory and power.
The other band members, all except for Jerry, were arguing before the show that Layne would never be able to hit the highs in this song due to being under the grip of heroin but Jerry had faith that Layne would be able to do it, you can see the smirk on Jerry's face looking at the other band members almost saying "I told you so" once Layne hit that "but my wings have been so denied" line. Such a powerful moment of faith between friends.
DEFINITELY "LOVE, HATE, LOVE," live at the MOORE THEATER in Seattle. I can only imagine how much this show would have been 15 years earlier around when PEARL JAM and Nirvana did theirs, THEY ALL BLEW UP TOGETHER
I saw Layne in a three piece suit at the start of their set on Lollapolooza in 93 and it was like 95 degrees that day! Needless to say he took the jacket tie vest and shirt off after playing Would the first song to start the show! Very charismatic singer and great stage presence! His voice very unique and an unbelievable range! RIP Layne!
Yes, as others have said, you MUST do "Love, Hate, Love" live at the Moore. That was Layne at his peak before the devastation of h. This Unplugged is one of Layne's last public performances with AIC, I believe. You can see Jerry Cantrell watching him (with love/concern, I believe) and singing with him. I have a hard time watching this performance just because it makes me so sad.
Hearing his voice just blows my mind and breaks my heart all over again-every f*cking time-he is so sorely missed! 🤯💔🤘🏼 RIP-GOAT 🕊️ ❤♾️ Layne T. Staley 8/22/67-4/5/02
Nice reaction, from deaths doorstep Lane paints a master piece. Listening to the lyrics may don't realize this is a breakup song. It's really sad what IV drug use does to so many, very talented man, RIP Lane.
If you want to see "the long hair guy" in a solo, listen to his 2024 solo album"I want blood", it's just amazing! Love Jerry's voice also and he keeps rock and attitude alive these days
Great Performance/Nice Lyrics/Good Guitar Play/ A Real Pleasure to Listen too; A Wonderful and Heartfelt REACTION, Thank You for that Emma; 🙏🙌👏👍🙏💃💃💃💃🎶🎵🎶🎙🎧🍁🍁🙏💃💃💃;
This makes me crave going back say 1990-1994. Facelift, Sap, Dirt, and Jar of Flies was definitely Alice at their very best and before Layne’s health really went down hill. LOLLAPOLOOZA 93 was spectacular folks! And of course Unplugged from April 10th 1996!
This whole show was bittersweet. Sweet as in, an unplugged show with these guys was awesome. bitter because this was Layne at his last of being able to do this, his addiction took him, and already took hold of him before this show. If you really want to see AIC in their prime look for the "live at the Moore" vids. AIC with Layne and Mike was the perfect storm imho. But like any storm, they only last for a moment.
So many great songs by this band! Them Bones, Love Hate Love, Man in the Box, I Stay Away, No Excuses, Rooster. Just about any one of their songs is great. My favorite is Nutshell. Such a raw, emotional song that's guaranteed to hit you deep every time!
People always recommend love hate love live at the moore, but you should do man in the box or bleed the freak from that show. It was peak Layne with his superpowers. Another reaction from this show should be Rooster or Nutshell.
I completely agree with you. To be fair, Love Hate Love at the Moore is amazing, and everyone who recommends it is 100% correct to do so. However, those two songs from the same show really showcase Layne’s unreal vocal ability as well.
Thank You EMMA FOR RE-UPLOADING THIS VIDEO, AND WORKING so tirelessly for your many, many FANS; LOVE AND RESPECT TOO YOU; Will watch in about 5 Minutes, just have to sort DINNER OUT; 🙏👍👏🙌🙏🎶🎵🎶💃💃💃🍁🍁💃💃🙏💃;
Every song from this set was just so gut wrenching but we are looking back at it from a different lens because Layne is no longer here with us. This almost didn't happen, Layne was at the peak of his addiction with Heroin and he was very dope sick prior but some how he got his fix. So he wasn't feeling sick but the band knew he was high as a kite. In the first song, when Layne first sang a few lines, you can see Jerry Cantrell look at him like, "Wow.. he sounds great" He talked years later saying he thought by Layne getting high before the show would make it the worst possible outcome. But, he was wrong. We probably got one of the best performances out of him before his passing I believe 2 yrs later. Layne's teeth were rotting out from the drugs, and he was so self conscious and scared people would ridicule him but really, as tough as it was... I commend him for still trying to hang on.
SO many great Nirvana songs. Many have reacted to "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" which is iconic. However, I'd love to hear someone react to "You Know You're Right." It is the perfect capstone on Kurt Cobain's legacy, has an amazing vocal line and energy, plus serious music theory people love it for its subtle complexity over a very simple structure.
💥 My Best Wishes for 2025 Emma !! Alice in Chains holds a special place in my heart. ->> Their sound features dark, brooding lyrics often dealing with themes of addiction and despair, complemented by haunting harmonies.... it is very special. They are my favorite 'Grunge' style band.
Love Hate Love - Live Rooster - Official Video Man in The Box - Official Video Nutshell - From the Unplugged show Down In A Hole - Album version. Be cool to see someone compare the two. The unplugged is so subdued it's almost a different song
For Nirvana, make a video about whatever popular title you want, but seriously check out 'About a Girl' just for yourself. Nevermind was a pivotal cultural phenomenon.
I liked "Frogs" "Nutshell" & "Sludge factory" from the MTV unplugged show & the live versions of "Love, have love" & "Junkhead" on MTV live are good too.
Arthur Fleck: [written in notebook] The worst part of having a mental illness is people expect you to behave as if you don't. Social Worker: They don't give a shit about people like you, Arthur. And they really don't give a shit about people like me either. Arthur Fleck: I've got nothing left to lose. Nothing can hurt me anymore. My life is nothing but comedy.
This is a shell of Layne, he was half dead from heroin at this point. The 91-93 period of AIC is prime Layne before the addiction truly started to destroy him.
You MUST react to LOVE HATE LOVE LIVE!!! Layne was at his peak then, he was high on heroin during this performance and there is a difference I promise you
You want to see WHERE DID YOU SLEEP LAST NIGHT by Nirvana, also from MTV's Unplugged series. It's THE most impressive Guitar/Singer performance that I know of. CHRIS CORNELL'S (formerly of Soundgarden and Audioslave, R.I.P.) version of Prince's NOTHING COMPARES TO U is a good contender for best Guitar/Singer (with cello, of course, in this case) performance that I've seen. That song has a history that dates back even before Kurt Cobain's mention of Led Belly's version. It's from the Appalachian area of Tennessee (I think... check me on this) and goes by a number of different names, IN THE PINES, being one of them.
Just came across your channel, good job. Can i make a request i think youll have fun with? Breakdown keeper of the seven keys by the band helloween..michael kiske has an awesome voice i know youll enjoy.
Some context is key here, since although it was a great performance, it was not even close to Layle (lead singer) at his best. At this point, he was very damaged by drug abuse, had lost most of his teeth as a result which you can hear has impacted his voice and mouth positions. He was self conscious about it and you can see he barely opens his mouth in this performance. He was having withdrawal symptoms and so apparently had to shoot heroin off stage to feel "normal" enough to perform. 6 years later he would be gone forever. With that in mind, as many have shared here, "Love, Hate, Love" live at the Moore is a much better showcase of his vocal ability (which was immense).
Love Hate Love live at the Moore is a MUST WATCH. The whole Moore performance is one of the best vocal performances ever. Layne in all his glory and power.
THIS! Layne was on his deathbed for this show. The young, vibrant vocalist comes out in that entire show.
she dismis his pain
Bleed the freak from the same show is a must as well!!
@@mpd370 Layne died 6yrs later..I’m pretty sure he was trying to quit during this period. So the band didn’t know what to expect
Layne Staley is the greatest singer from the grunge era...
DEFINITELY "LOVE, HATE, LOVE," live at the MOORE THEATER in Seattle. I can only imagine how much this show would have been 15 years earlier around when PEARL JAM and Nirvana did theirs, THEY ALL BLEW UP TOGETHER
Love hate love live at the Moore theater 🔥🔥

Needless to say he took the jacket tie vest and shirt off after playing Would the first song to start the show! Very charismatic singer and great stage presence! His voice very unique and an unbelievable range! RIP Layne!
Why do you post the same comment on every single AIC video? It's getting a bit old. Please stop.
This whole MTV unplugged album is what really got me through my high school years. I love the reaction. Hello from Alberta!
Yes, as others have said, you MUST do "Love, Hate, Love" live at the Moore. That was Layne at his peak before the devastation of h. Layne Staley is the GOAT RIP legend you will never be forgotten and you are so loved… 🖤🖤🖤
That acoustic bass brings so much to the song.
Nutshell from the same concert
Excellent reaction! Such a great performance, don’t worry about nirvana do more Alice In Chains!
Hearing his voice just blows my mind and breaks my heart all over again-every f*cking time-he is so sorely missed! 🤯💔🤘🏼
RIP-GOAT 🕊️ ❤♾️
Layne T. Staley

RIP🙏LAYNE.and MIKE STARR
RIP Old friend. Thank you for watching them.
I am so glad Emma reacted to this. This is the best Alice in Chains live song. I have been waiting for this.
Man in the box was a vocal master piece he sings really high and a lot of sustain. That song was a grunge master piece.
I'd like for you to do "Frogs" from this same unplugged effort. Really is a great over looked tune.
Frogs and Got Me Wrong are great performances
Heaven Beside You really deserves some shine, Jerry is a fantastic singer and solo artist, that song from the same performance is a gem.
Love you're reactions, love someone reacting to real music
Layne was THE BEST vocalist of his time, and perhaps all time. At least he was for me.
Nice reaction, from deaths doorstep Lane paints a master piece. Listening to the lyrics may don't realize this is a breakup song. It's really sad what IV drug use does to so many, very talented man, RIP Lane.
Layne had such a unique voice. One of the best. He's sorely missed. Emma!!!! ❤️🥰😍💖💘
She said he sounds like Kurt Cobain... 😅😅
Man in the box (live) (alice in chains)
Where did you sleep last night (unplugged) (nirvana)
Great video❤
If you want to see "the long hair guy" in a solo, listen to his 2024 solo album"I want blood", it's just amazing! Love Jerry's voice also and he keeps rock and attitude alive these days
One of the most heartbreaking recording ever.
The entire AiC unplugged album is a masterpiece
Amo cómo sientes el rock EMA. Saludos desde Coyhaique Chile🤘 🇨🇱

Really moving and engaging song. Really enjoyedy our reaction and engagement.

Nutshell. It will send goose bumps down your spine.
'Nutshell' and 'Would' by Alice in Chains. I think there might be MTV Unplugged versions of both at this same venue.
Emma, I would recommend “Nutshell” from the same MTV Unplugged performance.
👍👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻!
Man in the box !!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
lovve it emma thank you emma
He died 6 years after this performance, but was already in the throes of his addiction and was very sick.
Alice In Chains - Rooster (From MTV Unplugged)
Do love, hate love live at the Moore by Alice In Chains Layne at his peak. It is amazing!!!
People always recommend love hate love live at the moore, but you should do man in the box or bleed the freak from that show. It was peak Layne with his superpowers. Another reaction from this show should be Rooster or Nutshell.
Agree with Bleed the Freak❤

@mtrainor999 can you imagine that version of Layne singing songs from Dirt live!? The entire show is incredible. He doesn't hold back.
This always makes me bawl like a baby. RIP Layne
Love this gig! The whole gig is amazing! Nutshell or would are great on it. Love hate love live at moore is also one to watch!
The Candles add to the ambient nature of this performance. So good.
Nirvana Unplugged song - Where did you sleep last night (In The Pines)
Their vocal harmonies are very special
This is my favorite bop.
Thank You EMMA FOR RE-UPLOADING THIS VIDEO, AND WORKING
so tirelessly for your many, many FANS; LOVE AND RESPECT TOO YOU;

Read the back story to the lyrics and what was going on in his life, it's sad.
Nutshell, Would?, Heaven Beside You, Rain When I Die
I like your style 😊
*one of the most depressing songs ever*

I noticed his lips and wondered. Cause I'm in the process of getting dentures. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.
Great performance.
The album "Dirt" is a dark look at where the band/Layne were at the time.
As everyone has said, Live at the Moore. Because he was sick here. Really sick... and Jerry carried a lot. The moore gives peak Layne
If you want to see him in his prime at full voice Live at the Moore Love Hate Love or any of the songs really the whole thing is great.
SO many great Nirvana songs. Many have reacted to "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" which is iconic.

Layne staly great voice, too bad his demons took full control of him , imagine if still alive today , sad rip
Aic love hate love, confusion, rooster, all the songs are my fav ^^
Bleed the Freak and Love Hate Love live at the Moore

Great reactions as always. Watch Love hate love at moore live. Amazing performance by Layne
Love Hate Love - Live
Rooster - Official Video
Man in The Box - Official Video
Nutshell - From the Unplugged show
Down In A Hole - Album version. Be cool to see someone compare the two. The unplugged is so subdued it's almost a different song

Nirvana suggestion: "The Man Who Sold The World" from the Unplugged show. Or anything from the Unplugged show.
+1 for Love Hate Love live at the Moore 1990.
Arthur Fleck: [written in notebook] The worst part of having a mental illness is people expect you to behave as if you don't.
Social Worker: They don't give a shit about people like you, Arthur. And they really don't give a shit about people like me either.

same performance. "Heaven beside you"
This is a shell of Layne, he was half dead from heroin at this point. The 91-93 period of AIC is prime Layne before the addiction truly started to destroy him.
Sad and Depressing Lyrics, but I really RELATED to them when this was released, I love the official video/ studio recording.
Everybody says Love Hate Love is the best, but for me nothing beats his performance of Junkhead live at the Singles party.
Bleed the freak live from the moore
Jerry and Layne were great together. And Layne was an amazing singer. Gone too soon.
If you want a Nirvana song that hasn't been done to death on other channels, try Plateau or Pennyroyal Tea. Both were on the 1993 Unplugged set.
Так же рекомендую Nutshell, Man in the box 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I miss the 90this
Emma ❤❤❤❤
Layne was in such a dark place during this. A very low one. It hurts to watch him here. He was feeling, living, these lyrics. 😔
I appreciate that you react to how they perform. But I wish you'd pay more attention to what they're saying.
Sang his own eulogy 😢
Nutshell unplugged
If you like AIC you'll love Mad Season as well. Check out some of their gig from the Moore in '95. Very choice.
You MUST react to LOVE HATE LOVE LIVE!!! Layne was at his peak then, he was high on heroin during this performance and there is a difference I promise you
❤❤❤
Nirvana, Lake of Fire.
Best song of their unplugged performance!
Legendary!
For Nirvana's, i like "Dumb" 😉👍
..because it has cello
Jerry could have been a front man himself. I think that was part of why AIC was so good.
That, and the fact their two very disparate voices blended together so perfeclty.
Jerry has a handful of solo albums just had another one come out a couple months ago
@@JesseLJohnson i didn't know that. Now I have some new music to check out. Thanks!
Hi Emma, how are you? "Love, Hate, Love" LIVE at the Moore is worth checking out.
It was sad and Scary seeing him in this condition, but he put on a great show. NOT HIS BEST, definitely his best for that point I'm his life. 😢😊
Layne Stanley... RIP

Amazing performance considering he started losing his teeth around this time, and being emaciated from drug use (and used just before this concert).
damn bad asffff
Just came across your channel, good job. Can i make a request i think youll have fun with? Breakdown keeper of the seven keys by the band helloween..michael kiske has an awesome voice i know youll enjoy.
Lake Of Fire by Nirvana Unplugged is awesome
painful to see him in this condition. Most of his teeth are gone at this point and it affects some of his enunciation. Check out LOVE HATE LOVE, live
Before you delve into Nirvana....you need to react to AIC "Love, Hate, Love" live at The Moore
Ive eaten the sun so my tongue has been burned of the taste.

Nirvana - All Apollogies (MTV Unplugged) please!!!
