I love my Stelvio - bought it in 2018. Zero issues. Just couldn’t stand buying another BMW. They’ve betrayed their loyal customers by diluting that BMW “drive feel”. It’s just never felt the same post-2007. So glad Alfa built this car! Beautiful car and super fun to drive 😁
I just test drove a Ti Sport with adjustable suspension at this dealership and now my dad wants one. Very impressive drive for their 'base' model. Agree about BMW.. they went too mainstream
If more buyers test drove an Alfa Romeo, they'd sell way more vehicles. People simply are not familiar with the brand, since they left the USA in 1995. Alfa is a legendary heritage brand with quite a rich racing history. People go out and buy Asian brands blindly without knowing a damn thing about such a storied, European, legendary brand like Alfa Romeo. Good review on a fine SUV.
@@Adam-gm3mw Alfa bad reliability is just a myth mate. I own an 159 from 2008 done 145k miles and a Giulietta from 2011 done 123k miles. Just bought one last weekend - traded in my Stinger GT1 (with JB4 tune, Borla exhaust, K&N intakes) for this and do not regret it one bit. Loved the Stinger, but love the Stelvio so much more. It's so much fun to drive, and it hugs the roads even better than my Stinger did. Doesn't have the same punch (yet, I will be putting bolt-ons on soon), but man it sure turns heads in every parking lot.
Really wonderful. You're a great human & that is very refreshing. I am on my second Stelvio. Ti Sport & QV. Solid reliable & the best fit for my coastal and desert trips here in Southern CA. Great on long distance trips. I come from a family of Italian rally racers & my parents would be proud of the new Alfa Romeos!
Alfa Romeo has always been a driver's car even back in the day when its reputation for reliability was pants and is also one of Clarkson's favourite cars.
That's an extremely rare spec. Not only has Alfa discontinued the Ti Lusso for their models but even finding a used Ti Lusso with the Ti Performance Package is very difficult! That's a great spec if you can find it--on the Giulia or on the Stelvio
I test drove from same place and I had the same reaction and was blown away from how much I enjoyed it. And it's only the Base! Does the Mazda CX-5 drive similar? Now I'm looking at getting into one or waiting for the 2021's. The Performance Package transforms it from Lincoln ride to a sports car.
Ben liked the Stelvio. I ordered one 2 days ago, the Ti Sport, Alfa white over black, red calipers, red leather interior, 3-4 MONTH delivery can you believe..
When you configure it just like you want, it has to be ordered to the factory to be manufactured with the specs you want. ...unless you're lucky there's one just like you want somewhere in the sales network. Mine is black with chocolate interior.
Finally, the car I want! But where do you get it serviced? Especially if you were on a cross country road trip and break down in Texas. I'm disappointed in the 2.0 litre 4 cyl. These are the reasons I don't have one. Ben is cute
You must obviously only buy BMW or Audi.....This is an Alfa...you don't have to worry about breaking down....that's the domain of the GERMANS !! FORZA ALFA BABY !!!
Oh my. Do not be disappointed in the 4. You have clearly never driven one. 0-60 in 5 seconds is nothing to sniff at. I've had mine to 140 and it was still accelerating.
I prefer the look of the Giulia but don't mind the Stelvio. What is its advantage over the Giulia? I'm in the market for this type of car and have shortlisted the Giulia and Jaguar XE. I could consider the Stelvio if I could see any advantages.
I have had mines for almost a year, I always get ask, what kind of car is that, it's different, and Beautiful, mine is a 2020 Stelvio, red with black leather seats, I wish the seats was red as well, I'm loving my car, never want to trade it, unless I upgrade to a 2023.
This particular car performs better than the base because it has the adaptive suspension and maybe a limited slip differential (optional). Acceleration and top end will be the same.
I decided to pass on this beautiful car because the 2.0 ltr turbo engine produces a lot of power and torque for its size. Substantially more than the same size engine from Porsche and BMW. This leads me to believe that the turbo boost is quite high causing a lot of stress on the engine, piston rings, and head gasket. I would like to keep it for 10 years, but I'm worried about longevity from such a high strung puppy.
That's typical North American mentality ...only because you're used to normal aspirated bigger capacity engines. On this side of the Atlantic, many of our daily city cars are 3 cylinder 1000cc with a turbo and over 100 PS.
@@miks564 You're right. In europe smaller engines and big turbos are mainstream. In terms of reability they are equal to natural aspirated "big" engines
OriZas Maybe not so big. Smaller turbos with higher rpms range capability, are getting more common because they’re more able to pick on the small exhaust at lower rpms from small capacity engines. For instance, check the size of the Continental turbo found or Ecoboost 3 cylinder engines.
It really sucks there is not a mid-level engine to this vehicle. I'm waiting for the next generation to see if they do it. They need an x3 m40i competitor. I've got a 2017 330 wagon and I want something different, this fits. But I won't be getting one without A 6 CYLINDER!

Fiat invested almost a billion bucks into a new assembly plant. The quality control is not like it had been before. When they install a steering wheel they check it with something like 7 laser guided metrics.

Well, real wood gives it a wood look. :) ...but you can go for the dardker oak if you don't like walnut. Then again, if you're not into wood, why not the standard aluminum setup?
