- This is my new grape crusher / destemmer. After waiting 9 months for it to arrive, the crusher arrives in less than great condition. Not sure if it was damaged enroute, or if this unit was just slapped together. Either way, I'm pretty sure that I do not want this one.

Take the motor housing off and study the alignment of the pulleys. Also check that the screen is fully inserted and tightened. I have resolved the paddle scrapping issues many times by adjusting the pulleys and the position of the bearing (two adjustment bolts at the pulley end) several times.
What I haven't resolved is that there is a cut out in the shat right about where the bearing is. If the cutout aligns with the breaking, the shaft 'floats' in the bearing hole. I can move the shaft in and ou t a little to get it back into the bearing in a tight fit but it always moves back out. I don't know if this is by design. I tried a hose clamp on the other shaft end to no avail, the force pulling in the shaft (from the pulleys?) is too much.
I replaced it with an upgraded model. Thanks.

I have been looking into destemmer/crushers and was considering this one. Were these issues resolved? From MoreWine? Also looking into the ENO15S (St Pats), and the WE286...What I am thinking is that expecting the rollers at their widest position to still engage without self-destructing, may not be possible for this design.

This was simply a broken model. Morewine was absolutely fantastic in their help.

I would agree that this is not a great crusher. This model has many faults and is very low-end. And this particular model was in fact broken.
But it was designed as a Grape crusher and grape destemmer in one unit.
I have crushed many hundreds of pounds of grapes with this model.
So, I am not sure what you mean.

I ended up not happy at all with this. Mostly because this was broken when I got it.
Had it not been broken, i believe it *might* have done the job. Perhaps.
Its under powered and leaves a lot "stems in the must. So it barely worked.
But MorewinePro made it right, and paid for the shipping involved in returning this.
Then I spent a little more, and got the MoreWinePro WE286.
This is the 220v version that has 1 hp.
It is perfect. No power issues whatsoever, and it does a great job at separating the grapes from the stems.

You should vision CME's destemmer...they're manufacturer since '46!!
im sorry that is not a wine grape crusher you should see no light and the crusher part looks nothing like what you have.
