      Haha. You know, Shane, I don't think I own one blues album. I don't listen to it and I pay scant attention to the blues scene. It bores me, to be frank. But every time I pick up the damn guitar I seem to play the blues. Not sure what the hell's going on there. :D

    I’m starting to be convinced that most of these cheap Chinese ES-335s are made at least in part, at the same factory. The give-away? On a Gibson or Epiphone, the top (and back) starts pretty much flat at the edge, all around the body, and starts to bulge up into the arch, about an inch inward. On my Musoo 335, and on these Artist 335s and some others I’ve seen in videos, the tops and backs arch this way except along the bottom bout edge, where the top and back start to bulge up into the arch, right at the edge of the guitar. So along the bottom of the guitar, it doesn’t have that inch of flat surface before it starts to arch. Anyway, I think they’re great. I am extremely happy with my Musoo for $300!

    • @farmduck2762
      @farmduck2762 2 роки тому

      I have thought the same thing. It explains why they always run out of stock. The big customers get preference in production time then, when the factory slows down, they churn out a batch of Firefly, Artist, Musoo, whatever. I have one of these Artist 335s and I'm very happy with it. The value is amazing.
      The other possibility is that there is more than one factory but they all use the same templates for their machines.

    I bought one of these last year, and man, it's the best guitar I've played that I own. My original intention was to swap the 'buckers for p90s, but I can't bring myself to do that now, the stock pickups sound good enough to please a p90 lover like me.

      Setup setup set up is the key to making a guitar play nice , the tone you can change with pups etc , but it's all in the set up .

    Got the New Walnut version heading my way in the next day or so...looking forward to seeing for myself what the deal is..they use Techwood for the fretboard on this one, so..yeah I hope it does the job - I'm a believer in the notion that even the fretboard wood contributes to the overall tone.

    Fark, I wish I didn't watch this video. Now, I've just added this to the "Artist guitars to buy" list alongside the Thinline Telecaster, LPG Cimmerian & LP59 gold top. The ST62's already in the cart for Thursday payday, coming up...

    Looks sounds like a great alternative to the Epiphone Dot. Checked out the About Us section on their website. Seems like they have a good process to ensure quality of manufacturing in China. Maybe that’s why Epiphone’s message at NAMM this year was quality. Competition is good.

    Hi Brett, nice playing and great looking guitar. Why does your guitar have a scrolled A, and assume this is A for Artist, at at the top of the neck and the for sale products do not? IMO, it makes the guitar look very classy . Funny how small touches can make the biggest impressions.

    Grabbed one of these myself about 3-4 months ago (when they were in stock and at $299). Plays awesome for the price!
    One thing that impressed me (other than price), was you can turn these up on a cranked amp and the pickups don't squeal or feedback too easily for a semi hollow. And they're nice sounding pickups.
    I'll reserve judgment on construction until it's hit winter down here and see what moves!
    Next on the list might be one of their LP's.

    I picked up a mint second hand one of these for $270. I have had 4 Gibson 335's including a 69 Cherry. This Artist sounds just as good, and the finish is immaculate. Playing it through a Yamaha THR100HD with matching 2 x12 Cabinet produces a ton of amazing tones.

    G'day Brett, love ya channel mate, had a question for you, my brother gave me a vintage 335 copy made by ELECTA not ELECTRA late 70's/early 80's I think. Its in fair condition and sounds ok to me (Im no pro) I was thinking of selling it and getting the Artist model you reviewed on this video coz it sounds awsome for the price. My question is do you know what my Electa is worth? I've been searching the net but cant find much info on the Electa brand let alone the value of it.
    Thanks for takeing the time mate.

    • @BrettKingman
      @BrettKingman  5 років тому +1

      Hey Godfrey. Thanks for the kind words. Glad you're liking the channel. I really have no idea about the Electa's worth. I'm guessing about $500 but sites like Reverb.com are probably a better gauge. I'm not much of a price aficionado I'm afraid. Rock on!

      Gotta be honest, I don't have this guitar but I've played a few Artists, the tuning is the only poor quality to them. Everything else is fantastic but I would recommend buying one with a pack of machine heads to be honest.

    Thinking about picking this one up, my one concern, however, is that it's not got a block down the middle of the body. I've not had a hollow-body electric before and I'm wondering if it'll have crazy feedback issues if I use it with some distortion. Is this an issue with the Cherry58?
    Great video btw

      These one do nit feedback as they are semi hollow.. Only full hollow bodies feedback
