I didn’t include in on the list due to them not really having much to do with the episode but yeah it’s a very forgettable episode for me, although there were a couple jokes I liked
The characters being unlikeable if good critique but why do people always complain about episodes having some sort of message about doing the right thing or something? I just like the show for fun, I couldn't care less if there's some lesson to be learned or not

What some of us doing like about mermaid man and Barnacle boy 4 is how out of character SpongeBob acts. He should have put Squidward above his own standing with mermaid man. And then he becomes hysteric and starts zapping people for no reason. It feels forced. And the resolution is dumb.
