We need a spin off called “A Little Bit Alexis” to explore her adventures in New York and getting back together with Ted! It didn’t feel like the end for them. 😭 That was the only flaw to an otherwise perfect show :(

@@rachrad13ify I think for me, it was a way of showing that you shouldn't hold yourself back from your own self-improvement because of love. I do think love is important, more important than many things, but too many people throw away what could make their life feel fulfilled for it and then they start to resent their partner, which ruins what could have ended kindly and potentially led to something good in the future. I think you have to feel fulfilled without being with someone and have that person just enhance your life rather than depending on them completely for your own happiness. Depending on a partner is good, but you should also grow and be able to depend on yourself. Sometimes you meet someone perfect at the wrong time and you have to wait for it to work. Forcing yourself to do something you hate to be with someone you love is almost never going to be the best move, at least for me.
If someone were to tell me (during Season 1) that Ted and Alexis would become one of my favorite TV couples, I probably would've laughed at them. I would've argued that their relationship was unhealthy and one-sided, that Alexis was completely selfish and that Ted was too much of a pushover. But it wasn't until Season 4 that I started to root for them. Not only did they grow stronger as a couple, but both characters have grown a lot individually. Alexis became more selfless and responsible, and Ted became more confident in himself. It wasn't until after their first breakup that their relationship developed and started to bring out the best in each other. (On a personal note, I was gutted by the ending of 6x08. The idea of the two of them breaking up, not because they don't love each other anymore but because they want the other to follow their dreams and goals, was so heartbreakingly bittersweet yet realistic. I'd like to think that one day, they’ll run into each other again and pick up right where they left off.)

I'm really not sure how you manage to imbue these posts with EXACTLY the right elements that define the characters, but you do. Somehow you manage to take the written story arc as it's fleshed out by the wonderful actors and ever so succinctly take us the viewer on a wonderful little ride. They're just great. Thanks!
Love this! Watch one of the story lines in season 6 be them getting out of trouble in the Galapagos because Alexis uses her knowledge from all the crazy antics she's been in over the years. That would be GOLDEN!

Tbh I always kinda hated mutt. Well ok no not "hate" that's a strong word. But I didn't like the idea of Alexis x Mutt because the show was a whiplash when it came to the two of them. First I thought "well she kissed him but I'm guessing it's just a one time thing" and then goes "no nevermind she caught the feelings for him now I just feel bad for Ted their relationship is going nowhere" and then "Alexis and Mutt get together, finally. Ohp, nope nevermind they break up." And THEN "hey what's Ted doing back here oh welp I guess _now_ Alexis is infatuated with Ted again."

The reason why this show is so excellent is because of this. It's so epically inspiring to watch such beautifully crafted character growth. And the fact that it's pretty much the whole cast that grew just leaves me in tears.

In my head, a few years after the finale, Ted returns from the Galapagos, and he and Alexis will bump into each other somewhere, which may or may not have been set up by a gleefully scheming David. They will spend some time "catching up," decide to get to know each other again, and realize how much they still love each other. Ted will open a new veterinary practice, Alexis will continue to have a successful career, and they will live happily ever after together! Just try and change my mind!!!!!
I won’t lie at first I wasn’t into these tsk and even on rewatches I don’t like them in the early seasons. You can see how far Alexis has come. I’m proud of her growth and becoming independent where she doesn’t need someone but she wants him.

No I totally agree. I feel like the writers left so much potential for them to eventually end up together. Even though it was so sad to not see them end up together on screen, I was so proud of Alexis. It really showed just how much she had grown since the beginning, for her to not follow the boy and instead have this sense of autonomy💗
