Try to detangle your hair when is wet using conditioner, when it just completly datangled, just use your normal shampoo and conditioner. Use if you want a hair mask or a curly hair cream to define more your curls. I hope this will help you, chaitoo
I normally don’t detangle before I wash, as I find it easier to detangle after it’s washed with a wide tooth comb or wet brush while the hair is still damp. Yes it may lead to breakage if you are rough but I do it gently with minimal hair fall or breakage. I might try your method though & see if it makes a difference detangling before wash.
I “wash” my hair like 3 times a week. But only one day do i use shampoo. Day 1 shampoo and condition. Day 2 water rinse. Day 3 co-wash. Day 4 water rinse. Day 5 apple cider vinaigrette wash. Day 6 Water wash. Day 7 water wash.
Following from a long time ago.... Recently I overcame my awkward stage... And I'm glad ... I just want to say you thanks for my journey ❤️... Love from India
Damn. I've always let the shampoo sit while doing the other shower business instead of the conditioner. Might explain why my hair is so thin, poorly oiled and snaps off so easily. Eye-opening tutorial.
A special note is sebum does not actually moisturize hair that much and it raises the DHT on the scalp which contributes to female and male hair fall (for some that are dht sensitive which is I think a good bit of humans) I believe it also a contributor to most scalp issues like flaking and build up of the sebum
@@jibbo123 u wash ur fucking hair to rid it from your scalp which lowers dht also sweat has dht boosts scalp dht but also different diets/genetics/lifestyle choices can dictate sebum production tho once you wash ur scalp it’s removed But obviously it’ll produce again and again that’s just the system To limit it you’d wanna research a diet that I guess does so see tho it’s tedious to do that if you just wash scalp and hair it removes it
Based on tutorial, How are you removing product build up from mid-lengths and ends if only applying shampoo to scalp and then when rinsing saying don't worry if it gets on ends it won't be there for very long?
Yeah, good point. I use a clarifying shampoo once a week to remove product buildup and residue. Jesse has a video about clarifying shampoo if you're curious. The one I use is called "Sunday" from Bumble & bumble.
@@Swoahu I appreciate that bit I was just asking based on this video as it comes across as a start to finish hair washing tutorial, yet doesn't mention removing product build up etc from Mid lengths and ends and specifically mentions keeping shampoo on those areas for as little time as possible. Thank you for your reply though.
@@greigmcdowall8517 Oh I see, yeah I would have loved a specific mention of that as well. I think the idea is that if you just focus on applying shampoo to your scalp, then your mid-stands and ends will receive a more mild, indirect cleaning as the shampoo travels from the scalp to the ends of your hair during the rinsing process. Whether this removes product buildup or not, I'm not sure. I actually find it pretty difficult to shampoo *only* my scalp, but at least by following this practice most of it ends up where it's needed most.
I currently use head and shoulder shampoo and conditioner i have wavy and curly long hair started growing my hair since pandemic started need some tips please
This is great!!! I’m a first time viewer and immediately hit the subscribe button! I have medium-long hair (just about shoulder length) and my hair is very dry and frizzy after I wash it. I wash my hair every 2-3 days or so because i live in FL and i sweat a lot so my hair gets oily fast. My hair is very fine but long, and my confidence is struggling when i look in the mirror and see such frizzy poofy hair. My hair is about 2c-3a curly. Any tips on styling this kind of hair? (fine and somewhat curly). I hope to learn a lot about my hair on your channel, this video is a great start to my journey!! Thanks for the video, looking forward to binging your channel for hair tips! P.S. I started to watch Joe’s channel almost a decade ago, super cool to see Joe sponsoring new up and coming channels!
I believe because your scalp naturally produces oils so if you add conditioner you’re just adding more oil and it might make it more oily faster. Not a professional tho
i have been growing my hair out for a while now. ive gotten past the bad stages of it but i never found a style i liked. its now been 5 years and my hair is over a foot long and still dont know what to do with it. i was wondering if there is any way to take my fairly straight slightly wavey hair to be more like yours or if that just comes with genetics
Hey Jesse, in a previous video you praised cold showers, maybe not the end all be all, but what's your own take these days and personal routine when it comes to water temperature for hair care?
Hot water strips the sebum which is good if ur hair is oily Colder water seals the cuticle and also doesn’t really mess up that sebum layer Another note sebum does not help hair it actually raises dht which contribute to male and female hair loss it does not actually moisturize that well
I have curly 3a hair that's almost shoulder length and can't dry detangle it since it becomes super frizzy. Is there something else I should do before washing it to get rid of these loose hairs? I was thinking maybe use a spray leave in conditioner to make the hair a bit easier to deal with and then try brushing
I have wavy 2b/2c hair, and I tried detangling before my shower today, and it flattened my hair, lol. I think that might be a hair specific tip. I generally do a brush or two after using leave-in conditioner, and it detangles without ruining my waves
After we apply the shampoo do we rinse it out immediately after or we leave it on there for a few minutes and do we shampoo the sides and back of my head or just the top
What are the best tips to fix puffy hair? My hair is starting to get pretty long and it’s really starting to be more curly its between a 2b and 2c. My hair is really coarse and thick and it’s always puffy and doesn’t look that good most of the time. Thanks
My hair is like that, I started using ogx nourishing coconut milk shampoo and ogx quenching coconut curls conditioner today, i brushed it and left it naturally dry, they have worked well so far 👌
how should your hair feel right after washing out conditioner i tried it and when i washed it out it felt kinda like polish sticky.. its kinda difficult to describe but i did wash it out thoroughly after like 3 mins my hands didnt go smoothly through it if that makes sense. when i did dry it.. it was very soft and it seemed to turn out okay the ends were still a bit frizzy but i think that was because i hadnt tried properly taking care of it till now then i went to sleep and woke up with it feeling very course and dry so i was wondering where i went wrong. my hair type is pretty similar to yours. Idk if i put too much conditioner or the way i put it was wrong. thats why i wanted to know how exactly the hair should feel after applying and washing out conditioner and after drying it
Sometimes it could be either the amount or the type of conditioner. Try using a different conditioner and see if the sticky affect still occurs. I’m not sure how often you shampoo or condition, but I wonder if it mixed with whatever product that was on your hair (assuming that you use any). However, seeing that you already said that you washed 3 mins, I think it could be the type of hair and conditioner
I have curly hair, nd i also workout or sweat almost everyday which makes me have to shower. Is sweating and such an exception to wash your hair even if you washed it the day before? And do you need to shampoo it if you sweat often?
It would be sick If u could do a hair analysis of hier of atticus. I absolutely love ur videos and I dont even always watch them for tips, i just think ur funny
Air drying is definitely one of the best way to dry it. However some people have different kind of hair like myself and it gets irritatingly course and locked if I leave it that way. That's why I towel dry.
Because your scalp already has that oil , and the hair near your scalp are healthier than the ends . There is no such rule to not condition the scalp but the ends require much more attention !
Brushing curly hair dry I thought was the worst thing? If I did that, would completely change my texture for next 2 weeks even without wash. I don’t get it
ive got pretty dry skin and if i dont use conditioner after shampoo i almost always got dandruff even after using hair oil, i use shampoo twice a week and conditioner once so i can be annoying during those days, anyone got any solutions?
Maybe your shampoo is too strong as a detergent like. Had this happen to me once, so I changed to baby shampoo and it was fine, no dandruff anymore. It works despite sounding a bit lol. After the baby shampoo ran out, I chose another brand - something milder than the original one so as to not irritate or cause flakes. If your shampoo has lots of strong stuff like menthol and sodium lauryl sulfate, do the baby shampoo and after that bottle is over choose a new brand. Maybe look for something with words like "gentle", "soft hair", "sensitive", "hydrating", glycerin. Hope this helps, gl
