Hi Dan, great to see you back. Watching this video just shows a minute part of how uncaring and destructive the world has been and is progressing to feed that monster. I hope you are happy, well and safe. Again thank you for more of your hard work.
I've never been happier to see someone make such a triumphant return. Congrats, Dan. And props to you for taking care of you first. Your fans were never going to go anywhere!
Yeah there's like a huge drug problem I'm not even what five minutes into the video and you guys are in a room full of needles. Heroin has hit this city so bad. Everytime you walk anywhere people always ask do you party
Every time I watch one of Dan's abandoned videos I like to imagine what these places might have looked like when they were in use, in their prime. The people who might have spent time there or lived there and how they would feel about how the place looks now.
The sad thing is that during the day you can tell that a lot of these houses used to be really charming and beautiful from the outside. It’s a shame that there are so many unhoused people in an area full of buildings that at one time were lovely homes and are now just rotting to the ground.
This feels different than the older Dan stuff. It's like we're looking at a whole failed society/city instead of just a spooky place. I really appreciate this sort of journalism. Personally I enjoy the spooky places more but this is important to document too.
Kinda crazy how something as mundane as an abandoned building can become scarier than any forest or cavern. Almost feels like the building itself has turned evil. Really excellent video; completely terrifying.
Abandoned structures like apartments, hospitals, mansions, all have that eerie liminal space vibe to them yet they all have the same thing in common which is these places tell a story, both good and bad.
Dan: "I don't think this is a good idea" Also Dan, 5 seconds later: _Does it anyway_ So glad to see you doing well and going back to places that scare the shit out of me. God speed, Dan. Keep fighting the good fight.
I remember one time at my friend's house there sounded like some sort of wild animal screaming out into the night and even though we took a gun with us, as we were strolling towards the sound I said, "This is what white people do" and continued to do so. Although if I were alone there's no way in hell I'd go investigating.
WELCOME BACK DAN!!! I know you've endured your own crucibles, and while we all have our differences, I'm soooo thankful to see you creating again! NEVER SURRENDER, NEVER SUBMIT!! Love yah bud!
The night raining in the car shots at the beginning is so perfect, where the sound of the wipers back and forth is reminiscent of a heart beat. *Chefs kiss*
I get anxiety just watching the both of you explore these hellish places! And to think that at one time, families lived there and celebrated birthdays, the holidays and so on. So sad looking now.
Its strange having lived in Colorado all my life then visiting somewhere like Boston where the oldest building is 2 centuries older than anything we have in CO.
I'm surprised you don't run into those who have left the needles there. That one shooting gallery is crazy. Aaaand isn't Baltimore one of the most dangerous cities in the US lmao. I love to explore but this is a big nope for me haha. I'm glad you are doing it Dan so we don't have to.
Yep. It's a murder capital, a drug trade hub, and routinely listed as one of the top 20 most dangerous cities in the US. Often it ends up in the top 10. I kid you not, a few years ago there was a social campaign going on that boiled down to "for the love of god can we please just agree on one day a week where we all agree to not murder anybody?" To raise awareness the radio would read the names of everybody who had been murdered that week. I didn't tune in everyday, but there wasn't a single day I listened where less than 3 names were read. I remember living in New York for school. And I experienced a massive culture shock at the fact that people were willing to walk around the city at night. You just don't do that in Baltimore. Especially if you're small, a girl, or physically unfit. And you especially do not go out at night alone. Even during the day you have to be mindful of your surroundings. But at night, you'd have to be really stupid or insanely gutsy to walk around the condemned row houses at night.
@@bennitori4 I've been in Baltimore, at night, by myself multiple times. So has just about every other trucker in the states. You're a total wuss my guy.

Because they don't want their dogs to step on all the needles. If you live in the upscale bougie side of Baltimore, good for you. But that speaks more to your privilege than to reality. It breaks my heart to know that these issues will never be solved because cowards run Baltimore. Detroit, Baltimore, Chicago etc. Let's look at the common denominators. The outcome is the same and those in charge have caused it. What are the common factors in those areas? It's sad...what a waste of potential.

@@dellarae 😂 i lived in van for a while in the mid 2000’s.. east Hastings was pretty bad, but i never had any issues walking around over there, i had more issues when i lived in Surrey.
@D yea its changed a lot. East van has exploded with even more people struggling. They recently destroyed a big Park encampment and a lot of people dispursded into Langley/surrey.
Calgary has been starting to get pretty bad last few years around the core, nowhere near as bad as the states since the city still manages to upkeep, repurpose, or demolish buildings as needed, but bad enough that some pretty big buildings are getting the plywood window treatment.
I'm new to your channel. I really enjoyed the look around. I'm glad you keep your safety a priority. I have a few questions though. Do you know the history of these places? Or addresses for us to look up the history? Why do you go at night? Thanks for your hard work!
This is why I think..after being a fan for many years..why Dan goes at night. 1. Less people about...easier to explore and not be bothered by freaks. 2. Much more atmosphere, the creepy factor is higher, us fans LOVE the nighttime explores way better...and MAYBE..tho Dan swears he don't believe in ghosts ( he will one day lol) ..we might see a ghost. 3. Better for pictures sometimes.
Whats the plan if you encounter someone/s inside? They'll feel trapped and likely to shoot first, ask questions later. Also not likely they would respond to a 'hello'. And then the thought of someone/s being further down and watching a couple dudes with flashlights walk into a shithole. Easy fodder for being robbed when they walk inside the same door you guys did, effectively trapping you inside to do whatever. In my younger days I used to frequent some very shady areas (visiting specific older relatives), and had to run for my life a couple times and hide many other times. So I tended to put myself in the shoes of the bad guy and think what he would do in the specific incident, so i could alter that plan and make it another day.
I'm rooting for you Dan. I love your videos and I am proud of you for the steps you have taken in your journey. Keep doing what you're doing man, you have my support!

@D yea its changed a lot. East van has exploded with even more people struggling. They recently destroyed a big Park encampment and a lot of people dispursded into Langley/surrey.
@@dellarae same thing here in Edmonton, its never really been nice here, but its never been this bad.
Calgary has been starting to get pretty bad last few years around the core, nowhere near as bad as the states since the city still manages to upkeep, repurpose, or demolish buildings as needed, but bad enough that some pretty big buildings are getting the plywood window treatment.
Nice to see a video from you. Been missing you.
So glad to see you back in full force Dan!
2 gay guys in an abandoned building what could go wrong?
I'm new to your channel. I really enjoyed the look around. I'm glad you keep your safety a priority. I have a few questions though. Do you know the history of these places? Or addresses for us to look up the history? Why do you go at night? Thanks for your hard work!
I’ll start posting addresses on the properties in future videos. would be interested in seeing what people can find.
Your channel is one of the few channels I can watch over and over again. Your content is amazing. Thank you.
Welcome back Dan !! Read your facebook post very proud of you and so excited to see you back doing this content
So I tended to put myself in the shoes of the bad guy and think what he would do in the specific incident, so i could alter that plan and make it another day.
a hand job has saved me many times.
@@ThisisDanBell 🤣And you can do it to the rhythm of "Stayin' Alive," just like with CPR.
